guys, you have to use aquafaba that is unsalted and unflavored ( buy beans that doesn’t have anything added to the water like salt, vinegar or sugar, just plain beans in water )

Or get dried garbanzo beans (chickpeas) and soak them in plain water overnight-a couple days.

Does it work? Have you tried it? I'm not vegan or vegetarian at all (loving my dairy & meat) but this is very interesting but there's one problem - I don't like chickpeas so it's gonna be a waste of them if I don't eat the peas after using the aquafaba so I think I'll stick with the usual cream, condensed mil + flavour of choice ice-creams😅

Star Cherry it’s the biggest base in every vegan ice cream, if coconut milk isn’t used. Mine usually comes out really hard and tastes disgusting (the banana is very strong)

There isnt really a recipe, you really just blend frozen bananas with as much milk as needed, i usually eat it right away so it is still very creamy. I usually use normal milk but i tried it once with soy milk as well and there was no big difference.

You know, I love watching these videos. I'm not even vegan, but I really respect and enjoy the lengths some people go to make things like this! it's not only interesting, but it's informational and very enjoyable! I watch stuff like this so I can incorporate it into my own diet when I live independently someday soon (hopefully) 😆😆 I wonder if you can use any kind of bean's water, or if you have to use a specific kind. Tasters said it was too icy, so water ratio was probably too high. And I'm surprised she didn't churn it in an ice cream machine like she has in her other videos. I'm guessing the Aquafaba mimics the milk proteins in milk, while the coconut milk/coconut oil mimics the cream. Maybe a soft tofu instead of aquafaba would give it more solids as well as proteins without the high water content. Anyways, Merle is putting out the most interesting vegan frozen dessert videos in KZbin right now.

As far as I know, aquafaba has the same proteins as egg whites called albumins, that's why it can be used as an egg substitute!

This might work better with a peanut butter flavor? Chickpeas and peanut butter tend to kind of meld together into one peanut buttery flavor, so the chickpea aquafaba could be masked by the peanut butter flavor
