One thing about RR Ai, If it sees a kill will go in move order to decide which move to kill with. There is 2 videos on RR Ai which goes in detail about the ai

I've been playing Radical Red for the first time on and off for a little bit and it is by far the hardest poekmon game I've ever played. I suck so im not nuzlocking it but am playing on the hardest difficulty. Just beat Clair today and the back to back rocket admin fights in cerulean cave was the hardest I've been stuck in a pokemon game ever. It amazes me how people like you can play these games with hardcore nuzlocke rules. Keep up the good work man!

3.0 hardcore makes the early game much easier for nuzlockes, definitely recommend updating to 3.0 And sheesh, Boltund is INSANE for that Misty battle!

The best* rom hack you've ever played. The new update is what I will now expect from every single pokemon game I play; and I expect nothing but disappointment. It's by far the best QOL game ever, the challenge is always there, and the randomizer options just give it endless replay options. I've nuzlocked 3 different set ups on normal, never gotten past Koga on HC. Its peak pokemon.

Never managed to complete this one Nuzlocking HC but for me, the normal playthrough is a much more enjoyable nuzlocke experience and still difficult. HC mode just makes the game super stacked against you

AI in this game is very switchy. In RR the AI know your moves and usually if the AI sees that a super effective move from your mon kills theirs they switch to a mon that has a resisted typing or an immunity to that move. Like how the AI goes from cradily to hawlucha on volbeat's bug buzz

When I did my runs in terms of mono type and mono generations as well as hardcore mode, it seems like the AI wont use super effective moves if you have a berry corespondent, if you have a flying resist berry on a grass type then the ai wont go for a flying move and use either a secondary move or just switch out entirely, the only exception is if it your mon is low hp or ai sees a range to kill

I could be wrong about this, but aren't honedge and eevee both found in Celadon City. If that's the case, wouldn't nuzlocke rules only allow either flareon or aegislash, since they are both listed as Celadon City encounters on the summary screen? Not sure how that works tho🤔

Well honedge is from the game corner so it’s different I mean some people might be super strict about encounters rules but I personally think a game corner encounter should be classified as it’s own location

Honestly, this was a my run my rules thing that happened. Going into the game I was very reluctant and unconfident and I knew I would be rather lenient with my encounters. Honedge was the planned encounter but after doing all the calcs and realizing I had no fire types, I decided to get the flareon in order to progress

Remove the “white out” clause - just because you white out doesn’t mean the run’s over. You lose all the Pokémon you were using, but you can keep going until everything in your box is dead.

This just shows that it really pays off to research what any abilities and moves you aren't familiar with do. It might be worth nuzlocking the newer games to get used to some of the new moves and abilities introduced, even if they generally aren't as difficult as ROM hacks.

Hello! Little tip fir when you start another RR run, put these code in the NES in your room for less grinding. Woyaopp = talk to the kid in the patch of grass in viridian city for 400RCandies, and 100 Pomeg berries(increases friendship and reduces HP EVS(Useful for mons like riolu, snom, budew, etc) SO2Toxic for care packages that gives items for where your at in the game. It gives stuff like berries, held items(Weak pol, one type boosting item such as charcoal, mystic water etc, and berries((all are given in 10s))) and whatever useful items. DexAll for all the pokemon in the dexnav.

Quality videos but I would avoid removing to many aspects that make nuzlocke's more challenging. People who tend to watch these things enjoy seeing people overcome adversity. I agree playing with unlimited rare candies and things like that but I wouldn't remove EV's and give yourself perfect IVs. Especially since the game has mechanics that allow for that anyway. Also, I would at least play it blind once before looking up the teams. People greatly enjoy watching blind runs. Either way enjoy your run.

Unfortunately the IVs and EVs are not a choice. I’m not sure about 3.0 but I’m 2.3 when I played. When you select hardcore mode. You have no choice but to pair it with minimal grinding mode.

It depends, if you do them blind I think they are comparable. If you have the documentation, radical red gives you so many busted mons it makes it fairly easy once you learn. Hardcore mode is ruthless though since it removes set up moves, hazards, and abilities for you, but not for the AI on top of their field effects. Brutal but damn amazing to beat (just beat not nuzlocke lol)
