Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. If a Pokémon faints, then it must be permanently boxed.
2. I can only catch the first encounter on each Route.
3. No bag items in battle, except for pokéballs. (Held items are allowed)
4. Must be played on "Set" battle mode.
5. Cannot level over the next gym leader/elite 4's highest level pokémon.

I agree, if i were him I would still use the same pokemon who died in that battle. He lost because he didn't see the trainer and didn't heal, so it's not because of a bad planning or something, he just didn't see that trainer

the crit rate is not raised, suicuu has said multiple times that he did not touch the crit rate whatsoever. I can also say from experience of beating this game twice and making it to the 8th gym in 1 death=reset, crit rates are not increased. Due to the increased power level, you will just be finding yourself risking more crits but the actual rate is unchanged

@@DocZ I'm not sure I agree this is true. I also do hardcore nuzlockes so I don't have a laymen's perspective, but my boyfriend really enjoys Pokemon Challenges so I have an idea through him. I think if you're worried about discoverability you should consider some different types of videos, like shorter videos showing your progress day by day on a side channel, and some general nuzlocke advice videos, that sort of thing. You may be struggling because most of your videos are at the hour length, so when people haven't been introduced to your content from something more accessible they're less likely to want to watch it.

honestly i dont discredit the run bc u accidentaly ran into the veteran, happens to me too and i just act like it never happen. I know lots of nuzlockers do the same, but obv its easier when there is no audience judging. Some notes abt the AI: Its going for recover only if its slower than u, that might explain some inconsitencies. Also switch order just depends on what mon has highest BP move, if mons have the same BP, team order decides (BP is multiplied by effectivness but not taking STAB or immunity Abilities into consideration)

i mean, technically you can play a nuzlocke and continue after a wipe. the rule with a wipe being a reset is an additional rule. most people would agree that this run is still valid, just maybe a less hardcore nuzlocke than the others. hope you didnt get shit for that, love the vids

The reason it seems like people get crit more in this game is due to the overall massive increase in power level, which makes it so you don't get as many OHKOs and have to risk more crits because of this. The actual rate, however, is factually unchanged

I think he's better when it comes to consistency, like he tends to do nuzlockes in less attempts than PChal, but the fact that DocZ hasn't done Emerald Kaizo makes it hard to compare their skill ceiling, that game is just on a totally different. They just have different skillsets. From what I've seen it's because DocZ puts more time into every fight, like he mentions spending 2 hours on prep for Brycen. That said, whether or not PChal is the best nuzlocker in the world is certainly up for debate. This sort of challenge just isn't easy to compare, it's not like speedrunning where you ca put people's numbers up against eachother.

⁠​⁠​⁠@@robinellermeier3795 pchal does the same planning but also hasn’t used the same encounter rules. For example in blaze black 2 doc includes two encounters from the same route if one part of the route is used/accessed later. Like route 20 and renegade platinum. In sacred gold pchal includes the starter as new bark town so he doesn’t get an additional encounter but doc got the rotom by swapping a pokemon deemed important in the run but also had been used for battles already. Pchal also banned leftovers to one pokemon recently and has banned pokemon like shedinja and Salamance etc given how strong they are. Pchal also doesn’t over level past boss encounters like rivals, special trainers etc. doc had 3 master balls in one of his runs. He can play how he wants but when comparing pchal to him there’s a pretty big gap
