Camrys are a piece of work with a ton of reliability. As for performance I get the most out of mine by altering my driving style with the accelerator. When you feather it gently you can trick the ECU to open the valves at low rpm which gives a very smooth driving feel then squeeze the accelerator down smoothly all the way. Camrys love being driven gently but that’s when it rewards you best. Paradoxical statement but it works.

Bro idk what you mean here. If the engine is running the valves are opening and closing, no matter if it’s at idle or under load. Your throttle pedal only controls the opening of the electronic throttle body.

@@dilumwimalaratna4149 I’m familiar with VVT. I’ve tuned a many VVT engines. But you ain’t tricking the ECU. That’s just how the car was tuned from Toyota. When you do an aftermarket tune, you can modify the VVT logic to give you more power on the low or top end, since Toyota is chasing MPGs with their tune. But again, impossible to trick an ECU, it sees everything! Look up HP Academy if you want more details, they’re hella informative.

Also I use the true manual tune from time to time just for fun. I like to give it throttle in low revs with the manual tune and it makes the AEM intake really grumble. I love it paired with the magnaflow system

Sup bro, nice car. Ive been running the e85 for about two months now no issues. I also spoke to Dennis cuz my ECU bricked during the tune installation, Anyways i told him the same thing about the fuel eating the lines, he said as long as the fuel and ethenol dont seperate, like sitting in the tank for long periods of time, it wont cause damage. I daily mine so im always refueling, but yeah, running good so far, lots more torque compared to the 93 tune lol fun tune for sure

I used the d3 tune on my xse v6. I also swapped the rear and front bumper and side skirts to make my xsr look like a trd camry and i put the wing on to looks legit very happy with my build. Now i have a trd with a sunroof. I juat need a catback exhaust and a down pipe and ill be good.

It does to an extent but it’s not gonna 100% protect it. But it makes cleaning it super easy and makes the paint really pop. Ceramic is 100% the way to go

I love D3s sport mode for highway driving. Have you played with the tune wizard yet? I messed around with a few of the advanced options like different throttle modes and increase redline. I used the higher redline when I had the weapon R headers before they blew up and it definitely pulled hard as heck but I put the stock cats back on. Honestly tho the preset tunes are fine, the other throttle options I wasn't really a fan of, the stock ones were the best for what I like.

Yeah I messed with it a few times, the only thing I changed was the redline from 7200 to 7400. I haven’t played with anything else other than that! It sucks that the weapon headers are garbage I really wanted them but I’ve only heard bad things

The Camrys look fast and nice, but that is about it. Toyota needs to step up their performance game to keep up with their competitors. The TRD should have been the fastest model. Honda, Kia, Hyundai and a few others are killing it in performance.

May be a dumb question - from what I understand, the TRD only uses 87 octane (as stated in the manufacturer's book). If you're setting it to a 93 octane setting, then you have to get 93 octane gas, right? I guess the main question would be - does the tune have to match the gas you're putting into your car? i.e. 87 tune = 87 octane gas.

@@rileymaddenhey a little concern so I tuned the 87 eighth I did feel a little different then I went straight to 87 enhanced throttle tune, and then it acted like stock again, then I went to 91+ tune and put 91 octane in it and now it’s runs eh as well idk if I did anything wrong? D3 said you can jump between tunes, but I’m wondering if jumping you have to let time for car to re learn stuff. I’m running 91 tune now so cai and no enhanced throttle for 2 days to work and around city and seems sometimes to be good and others eh any feedback would be nice thank you!

XSE doesn’t have the TRD Exhaust, TRD Suspension, Larger calipers, Sway bar, etc that the TRD comes with stock…if you want a car that is actually fun to drive, TRD is better in every way. If you want a daily driver with heated seats, get the XSE. Simple as that.

I can answer this, no it does not void the warranty. But Toyota can and does see and might even call you about it. They don’t care short term but will definitely write it down that you started messing with stuff thus making it almost impossible to get related warranty work done.

@@Hoop_23 1.) If they know you did modifications and they CAN prove thats what damaged the car - yes they will void the warranty. This involves no input from your end, this is the riskiest situation. 2.) If they CANT prove your modifications that damaged the car but they can prove you modded it - being honest and up front and not act like they are dumb, they will more than likely still honor the warranty. Remember the technician is a person like you, they don’t want to be lied to or treated poorly, and they also don’t care about Toyota, they already make billions compared to their dollar, just be honest. 3.) If you modded the car but the mods didn’t cause damage but they know you did mods, and are being dishonest, they can by law turn you away. Nonetheless not all 3 situations are it, there are a variety of things that will and will not get the warranty voided. Just tune it imo. - Key takeaway, tune the car - but be prepared to be honest with your answers because they already know, either way they can reject your warranty almost guaranteed, but honesty will get you a long way. It worked for me with my TRD D3 tune. Or just mod it and whatever dealership knows just go to a different one and only do bolt on mods and flash tunes you can revert to stock so they will never know (or just not care)

No, the 4 cylinder version is a short ram intake only unfortunately. The v6 is the only one that is still a cold air intake because it utilizes both the intake air valve and the CAI. I own both a SE and TRD.
