Happy birthday!! I also turned 28 this year! I’ve always loved my birthday, but this year I struggled with the idea that I am now, very definitively, in my LATE TWENTIES. It’s not even the number 28, per se, but more this idea that the 20s are supposed to be this magical time and I’m now officially on the way out. But then I realized…every sitcom I love begins with the characters in their late twenties/thirties. And I gotta be honest, I’m super excited to see what wacky hijinks I get up to next season. Thank you! I needed to hear this! I felt neutral about aging my whole life but when I was 23 I dated a man 9 years older than me and he told me that I would be disposable once I turned 25. Obviously I immediately dumped him and told him that’s bull**t but it still really messed with me and I hated turning 25 I didn’t want to celebrate at all. Now that I‘m 26 I‘m slowly trying to get back to that neutral place. 💕

Honestly, right now I don't care about my age, in my country it's a big deal to turn 30, especially if you're single. But I'm excited about being 29, I think I'm fially living as I always should. I guess when i was 15 life was so much easier, even if it didn't look like it. But now I know that I can appreciate those moments because I grew up. I'm excited What scares me it's not being able to do all the things I want to do in my life.

I love this video. Thank you so much for making it. I am so tired of people praising others for supposedly looking younger than their age when first of all, people have a skewed understanding of how you look after a certain age. They assume that once you’re older than your mid twenties, you must look like an old woman. I partly blame this on media that tends to cast older people in younger roles. And secondly, what is so wrong with someone looking their actual age? So misogynistic ugh.

I am nearing the end of my year of being 28 and I want to thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience 🥲 not only did it help me digest it again and remind me to enjoy the experience of just being alive, but I am so glad that younger girls get to hear this outlook through you, a person they likely look up to. I wish I heard this pov more often as a teen. This was the first year I genuinely considered not telling people my age because I didn’t want them to point out how close to 30 I am. 30 will come when it comes! Not having kids before 30 doesn’t make you a failure, loads of people go back to school in their late 20s and beyond. We’re probably still gonna feel like teenagers at heart at 40! Growing up is really only as stressful as we make it, others can only put pressure on us if we let them, so we’ve got to give ourselves a little grace. Though I really do wish I had thought to make that “twenty ate” caption last June.

We are matching in age right now, but I am a year older so when December hits I will be 29! :P Here's a tidbit about me: 1. how old are you? 28 2. do you have feelings about being whatever age you are? Nope, because I was never one to follow what the crowd says when I figured out that loving yourself is the best feeling. 3. did you have a favorite age? why? 24 because that was the year lover was released! Even though she is changing the meaning of that whole album now I truly did feel like that album capture all types of love (friendship, parents, significant other) and she seem truly happy in that moment and I was too! I was thrill for once that an album released matches my feeling of when we realized we all got crowns. We can all love compassionately even if there is so much anxiety that comes with really giving your heart out. 4. what age / stage of life are you excited for? Honestly, all stages after 22 as you learn more and more about yourself. True discovery. 5. what scares you about the passage of time? 🌝 Losing someone you love.. I lost my father this year and it is scary to think one day your love ones will be gone and all that is the memories that lives in your mind.

I started my degree later than usual and so all my friends I have now from university are younger than me. I'm 26 and they're all 21-25. They always joke about how old I am but other than that, we all feel the same age. There are definitely changes (improvements) as time passes, but mostly it's just the number getting bigger. I like to say that I'll always be younger than Taylor Swift lol

This year, I'm turning 20, and I'm the oldest in my friend group. I basically have everyone around me asking, 'Are you ready?' 'What does it feel like to be almost 20?' And with this new trend of 'I'm a twenty-year-old teenager,' it's been difficult for me because I just don't relate to it. I'm ready to leave my teenage years behind. As you said, I spent most of them feeling like an outsider around others, full of shame. It's only until now that I have come to terms with how I look and started to embrace my personality.
