Honestly the biggest flex in this video is TSG showing off a landlord who not only lets them be as creative as they want but actively encourages it by bringing them stuff he thinks they’ll like.

Haha my exact thoughts! I wish I had a landlord like him. Alas mine just enjoys jacking up the rent on the regular without making improvements to our place (and our small city's landlord have a very well known private Facebook group where they add the details of "difficult" tenants who would like to live in a decent place and file complaints to our council (who many of the landlords work for)

I love this series. If someone from the team sees this, is it possible to tag these as part of a series? I’ve seen some other channels do something like that for running series. Maybe they already are and things have changed and I can’t find it lol😅 just really enjoy these and now am rewatching a few.

Love this series! 300$ for that credenza was an absolute steal, I think you could’ve gotten well over $1000. It seems like some of these are actual antiques, it might get you a lot more money to work with an antiques dealer vs an Instagram reseller!

I think it might be worth noting that TSG may not want to sit on items too long. So yes the credenza may have been able to fetch more, but it can take months to get that right buyer who is willing to pay it. Just speaking from my experience reselling mcm furniture.

Rachel, this looks amazing! 12:57 Just a little warning for anyone who works with a brush like this on metal, please cover your eyes very well, because it's possible for a metal splinter to get into your eye. If that happens your eye can start to itch, causing you to rub your eye and damaging it. The chance is very small but you really don't want that. A good pair of protection glasses will help! Edit: happy to see Rachel wears them later ^^

Just wanted to let you know, if you didn't already: there's something called a "rust converter", which allows you to convert rust into a type of primer for the metal. Makes the job A LOT easier (I had to restore 2 old windows last year and it was truly my savior lol)

I love how you really restore the pieces, you don't just slap a coat of paint on it and call it done. You really give your best effort to make the piece look its best and stay looking great for a long time (scraping all that rust and using the proper primer and paint to refinish it for example), while also respecting the vibe and era of the thing you're restoring !

My friend growing up, her grandpa was a cabinetmaker. He told me once that a lot of damage to wooden furniture are actually dents & not gouges. His tip was to get a wet bit of towel & wet but ring it out. Then get an iron & iron over the dent, the heat sometimes makes the dent spring back out. It takes time to do so it’s not a 5 minute job. He also said that you could leave the damp bit of towel on the dent overnight. I dropped a set of ladders on the banister in my house & made one hell of a mess of the banister. When I tried his technique it all but vanished. It’s worth a try before breaking out the wood filler if it’s just a dent & not a gouge.
