I love mute because I relate to him alot. I'm quiet and a man of a few words and I love Korea'a culture( hence the profile/kpop) and mute and vigil are my favourite characters not just because I'm also British and vigil is Korean its because who they are and what the pasts are about and they are just the most interesting operators on siege by far

So Mute is likely a savant. A savant will generally have excellent memory and recall capabilities and often come across as brash and uncaring, most of the time they dont have very good communication skills and are slow on social cue's however some are very good at communicating. Savant syndrome is apart of the autism spectrum and a notable savant is Stephen Hawking, a astrophysicist and the creator of the hawking radiation theory. A person with savant syndrome is generally born with it but (although rarely) can be acquired form a traumatic event (often physical trauma) or can be trained and self taught (although it is tough to do so). Its a really fascinating disorder and its worth taking a look at.

Graduating secondary school at 12 depends on the school you attend. Some secondary schools have an age range of 9-13 whereas others can have an age range of 11-16 because mute grew up in York. His school would be 11-16 so to finish it at 12 is a big accomplishment

High school is 11 year old to 16 years old. Then they can go to work or college...it's up to them.

Secondary school is year 7 to 11, ages 11 to 16, u turn 12 in year 7 so he "graduated" in his first or part way through second year, though we don't call it graduated because u don't graduate, u just finish. I don't know how highschool works exactly, but here there is no jumping around years, (u call it 7th grade, but we call it year 7) u could be forced to redo a year if u have extremely low attendance, like 60%, but u will never move up a year, so ik it's fiction, but it would be literally impossible for mute to finish secondary school early. And there's no graduation, we have the big exams at the end called GCSEs, but u could literally not be present for a single exam and would still leave in year 11, it's just that there are minimum requirements for colleges etc (they're not like ur college) so u would need to redo the exams to get anywhere, but u would just show up and do the exams, u wouldn't be a year 11 anymore. He could be homeschooled and just do the GCSEs early because he could be taught all the info quicker since he doesn't have to adhere to the secondary school system, but then that isn't secondary school, secondary school refers to the actual schools. Sorry for how long this comment is, it's just a little annoying to me that ubi put all this thought and care into everyone's lore, but then for mute just decided to go with the classic, graduated really early, must be huge brain that's used a lot, when it doesn't even work for his education system. All they had to do was say something like he was self taught and did his GCSEs at the age of 12, and now it doesn't seem like an American just thought of how to make mute seem smart on the spot without putting in any effort. I say American because it seems like it was based off of that system and also they called it an internship, when we don't have those, they're called work experience or apprenticeships.
