If your skin is oily but also dehydrated, you should use a toner. Not only does the toner clean off excess dirt and dead skin but it also rehydrates your skin. Yes your skin will rebalance itself out but because you stripped it of its natural oils if you don’t use a toner your skin will overproduce oil making your face even more oily. You should use a toner and use that one since you seem to have concern about hyperpigmentation.

Dehydrated and dry skin are two different things. Like you I have oily (combination) skin, as well as very sensitive. I always thought I had dry skin, until I became a MUA years ago, and learned it was just dehydrated due to smoking, not enough liquid during the day as in consuming enough water, and lack of basic skincare. I never used any creams growing up, and not even a SPF. I still don’t. Once I quit smoking, started drinking enough water, and took care of my skin, huge difference. Now I basically have perfect skin. I luckily don’t have acne prone skin, or any skin issues. Only that I am extremely sensitive. I’m even allergic to mineral makeup. So when I 1st find something that works for me, I stick to it. I recently just started using Pixi Skintreats, and so far I love it. Not sure if my skin even need the glow tonic, but I use it every morning and night. I got the Collagen & Retinol serum, and Iove it. I actually got that way before the tonic, which was my latest purchase. Not sure if I should use it as much as I do, the tonic, so thinking of getting the Retinol version that Pixi just realised as it’s a bit milder. I really wanna try their Rose Ceramid cream, the Vitamin C Cleanser, and the Rose Caviar Essence, but I’m very sensitive to fragrance in products and usually heavy scented products especially creams, irritates my skin, and breaks me out. Moisturizer I’m using is Embryolisse, and Lush. What really saved my skin was a skin water/face mist from MAC; Charged Water, which is sadly discontinued.

But these drugstore products (or this one in particular lol) isn’t strong, medical grade, or harsh on the skin so it didn’t irritate or do anything of that nature 🤗 the “retinol” serum was basically just a nice face oil and the glycolic acid cleanser was for daily use and didn’t cause any peeling, burning, stinging, or tingling so it was fine 😊 thanks so much for watching!

Alexandra Charlton Well Retinol does degrade from UV rays if not stored properly and this one happens to be in a translucent plastic container🤣 So you probably don't get any benefits from the actual retinol + the second ingredient is Rosemary Water which is pretty irritating

The toner was very harsh on my skin i started to have red patches on my face after 2 days of using it and I stopped, i noticed that my face is brighter i will give it another try next week and see what happens!

You could have used it wrong. Don’t wear it in the sun, don’t mix it with other chemical face serums/lotions like AHA, BHA, benozyl peroxide etc because it will irritate your skin. If your skin is sensitive use it less often. You can also use a base of aloe vera which is very soothing for the skin.

i HATE pixi so much. Lol. I have oily to combination skin and all their products just made me an oil rig. Like so oily. The spray? Oily. The serum? Oily. The toner? OILY! Everything was oily, i was so shiny. I do not recommend this if u have oily skin. If your dry then maybe it'll be good. But yeah.
