Why in india they launched average and highly overrated brands like pixi, bodyshop etc..why no one is bringing, the ordinary, purito, iunik, codex, Paula's choice etc...and in lockdown all international shipping are banned...so we Indians have really bad luck when it comes to our skincare...and also there is just so much lack of awareness..

Beg to differ here, the body shop is a great brand, its not overrated at all. The ethics behind that company is what every other company, not only in India but all over the world needs to practice! Also, you can buy purito from beautybarn.in & the ordinary from coral-beauty.com sold in India (they haven't resumed selling yet because of covid) instead of importing them and paying customs. PS international shipping has been resumed, I got some stuff delivered by DHL express in july.

Thank you for explaining sodium hydroxide in skincare! I knew from high school chemistry class that NaOH has a pH of 14, and that an alkaline mixed with an acid will create a salt and water: NaOH + HCl = NaCl + H2O. I've always wondered about such a caustic substance used in skincare. It now makes sense that the formulation process can alter its chemistry.

Out of all the “influencers” out there the only ones I trust is Dr Drey. Susan Yara and the rest of them just hype products up without any credentials to back up their claims. Like you said, some fragrance can be beneficial when it comes to formulations, but the way other influencers make it out as if it’s the devil. People need to take what influencers are saying with a grain of salt since most of them are being pampered by these companies for a positive review. I rather listen to someone with a medical degree.

I think we can stop labelling people for one mistake n give them a chance. One chance is not a lot to ask for when that person has given great content n good information for years. I know people feel being cheated on and she did lie about her association but her reviews are not entirely dishonest.the brand is really n nice brand n I know quite a few who seem to have benefitted from that.

Susan Yara is a sales woman. She is constantly promoting sponsored products that contain ingredients she actively speaks against (fragrance, SD alcohol, etc). I really appreciate that you and Hyram brought this up because nobody is talking about sodium hydroxide. I took the products that contain sodium hydroxide out of my skin care routine since I discovered that it was the ingredient that was causing irritation (red patches) on my skin especially near my eye area. I think what happens is because that we layer so many skin care products and sodium hydroxide is in a lot of things (cleansers, toners, serums, moisturizers, spfs), I think we sometimes end up accumulating a lot more of it on our faces than the individual product formulations accounted for. I haven't been getting the red marks since I took the products that contain this ingredient out. Maybe my skin was just being sensitive I don't know 🤷♀️ I wonder if other people experienced this too

Funny thing that you brought this up, Cassandra! Speaking of the Pixi bit, I think I discovered them at Superdrug in London and I too was attracted to their minimalist nature vibe packaging and I am super obsessed with not having plastics in my skincare since I struggle with acne and super sensitive combination skin. I remember explicitly not buying from the pixi rack when I realized that their are really not tht "all natural" as they seem and also probably not even completely cruelty free. That's what I thought at the time and because of that I never tried them, so it's quite funny to see this video now after 4 years. BTW, love your channel and I feel blessed to have found you on KZbin, you're awesome and I love how you can recognize your own biases and change things whilst getting informed.

OK so the title kinda scared me as I sit here with my DetoxifEYE patches on😂. Whew, I'm relieved that my face wasn't about to fall off. Thanks for your honesty, knowledge and especially your HUMOR 😂😅🤣😂🙃🤪

Glow Tonic saved my skin. I then moved on to a product that my sister handed me from the plastic surgery clinic she works at (she is an injector nurse) and really beefed up my acids :) I even tried Alpha H Liquid Gold and I actually got better results with the Pixi 🤷🏻♀️

this is a great video! I feel like it would have been great to mention how Caroline is donating her profits from the double cleanse to BLM for the rest of 2020! xx

pixi packaging/branding has always reminded me of some play makeup and other toys i had (from avon, i think?) in the early '80s.

I do like the toner. I like how it’s alcohol free. But since I’m stopping for the ordinary products I want to know if their toner is good or not?

It is good, I use it
@nickiev17454 жыл бұрын
It's good but WAYY more powerful so make sure to start slowly! The pixi one is only 5% glycolic acid, the ordinary's is just the straight up ingredient glycolic acid Edit: the ordinary's glycolic acid is only 7% , not the straight up ingredient. My bad

Nickie V does it dry out the skin? I’m new to the ordinary products. I’ve been having a bad breakout since January.

I’m new to the ordinary and I know a lot of people are saying good things about the products. I want to know that if some products dry out the skin?

I’m new to your channel and I’m so glad I’ve discovered you! That double cleanser is a game changer! I have dry skin and it has been so hard to find a cleanser that will remove all of my makeup, but also not strip my skin. Thank you thank you thank you for introducing me to this product!
