For a V4 engine, I suggest to use a 360 degree / single-throw crankshaft. Then each bank will have even firing pattern like a parallel twin. The advantage is to improve exhaust flow by using 2 into 1 headers.
@Tungmoto2 жыл бұрын
He did that before, before his previous chanel was hacked, he built a 360° crank shaft V4 engine from Honda 110cc engines.

Why is this guy not working for Ford or Chevrolet? Seriously, hire him to teach that bunch of Millennials how to think. My apologies to the old guys who built great stuff and are hanging on for the pension. You deserve it. I drive a 2014 Edge NA 3.5. Water pump inside the oil? Your education ain't working. Go, Le Dan.

The amount of forward thinking / planning you seem to manage with zero computer CAD etc is mind blowing 👍 I would love to hear what your thought process is on planning these projects
@Baribrotzer2 жыл бұрын
This was how they used to do it, before CAD/CAM was invented. Lots of skillful hand work, accurate measurements - note that dial indicator - and tools that might have looked crude, but lined up very well. Even then, the job is so hard and time-consuming that it wasn't done very often by anybody. But even under Third World (pardon the expression) conditions and tech, a true craftsman can do some amazing work. Look at old-school Afghan gunsmiths for an example - perfect copies of European firearms done with a hacksaw, files, a hand-drill, and a foot-powered lathe.
@identiticrisis2 жыл бұрын
@@Baribrotzer definitely, the hand skills are important and ought not ever die. But holding not only the finished vision in your mind but also how to get there with what you can see in front of you takes a special kind of talent for sure. Our greatest gift is being able to imagine that which hasn't been created yet.

I would like to hear your thoughts on the process of planning the following project: I would like to convert a Nissan’s VG30DE engine which is a six cylinder to ADD cylinders either to make it an eight cylinder or as you demonstrate the 90° angle approach to convert a V6 block to perhaps a V-8, a V-10, or a V-12 block. I am serious about the project and I have thought about it for well over a year. Please advise your thoughts on converting a VG30DE Nissan engine to add cylinders. My regards, You also have a wonderfully talented approach and I enjoy your channel. Please advise your approximate location. Thanks

I'm really amazed at the level of skill here with not-so-great tools and an overactive imagination. I've spent 40 plus years in the shop and I watch this and think, how the F could I even do this. Good job. One thing I would consider doing is adding an external oil sump to increase the amount of oil this motor will carry and run that oil through a big sized oil cooler to help control overheating because you are going to overheat this for sure. Heat is the enemy of motors. Otherwise, I'm impressed as all get up!
