@28:00 It is a good practice to align the pin of the vristpin circlip vertical to the cylinder bore because it can get fatigued by the reciprocation and break off. I also like to cut the pin shorter to have less mass wanting it to flex. It does not happen often so I am sure you won't be having any problems this time either. Lntwin is a name that Ducati invented to make their engines seem different, they are just Vee Twins with marketing speil, your build are still amazing, no matter what you call them.
@GGGMotovlog11 ай бұрын
L twin is a specific 90° vtwin tho. V twin could be anywere from 45° or something right. To make the title more shorter than i turn scooter engine to v twin of 90° 😂
@chris_vk3radio11 ай бұрын
Actually the L twin name applies to a genuine 90 deg configuration, as in a right angle offset. Most manufacturers did not employ such a large angular separation between cylinders until the 1980s, with Ducati leading the way.
@michaelbrinks808911 ай бұрын
It wasn't a gimmick, the rear cylinder on V twin engines gets poor airflow & always wears out 1st from overheating. The L twin configuration allows plenty of airflow to both to cylinders, fixing the issue. The air cooled L twin design is superior to air cooled V twin design.
@metricstormtrooper11 ай бұрын
@@michaelbrinks8089Ducati twins had the same layout and were called vee twins till late in the life of the belt drive twins, vee six automotive engines are still called vee sixes even if they are mounted across the vehicle for front wheel drive use.
