I used an iPhone 4s last year although I downgraded it via a jailbreak to iOS 6... Was a big improvement because I had used a 3GS for several months before that. I kinda liked that challenge of using old phones: felt pretty nastolgic, barely used my phone (something positive) - only as an iPod or for calling someone and always had it with me for taking crappy pictures out in the nature (bad quality but I like having shot those pictures for my memories on those devices) BTW I still had a LG G6 as a back up phone but my sim was always in one of those old iPhones... now I fully switched to apple and only use a new iPhone se. Sounds strange but sometimes I do really miss those simple, old iPhones...

try using your iPhone with the built-in screen reader to see how easily you are able to adapt to using your phone without seeing it. I am a voiceover user myself. it enables me to use my iPhone even though I am completely blind. I would be interested to see how you are able to learn the different gestures and it would raise awareness of the fact that disabled people can and do use the same tech as sighted people. I had an iPhone 4S and loved it. I am blown away at how fast technology is evolving over the years.

The 4S is (to me) one of the best built, if not the best, phone I've had. I still have and use my 4S, not as a daily driver but for other things like the alarm and there's old songs (the songs were new when I downloaded them) on the phone that I sometimes listen to for a bit of nostalgia.

Iphones have on their favor a longer software support from Apple but as soon as it ends you're in trouble with incompatible apps list growing each month, something that doesn't happen on Android. Yes the fragmentation exists but the apps keep being updated for several years after the os has lost the support by the manufacturer.

Yeah, pretty much any iPhones with iOS 4.2 can do it. So that means iPhone 3G & up is capable of doing this to a certain degree. Just that unfortunately, older the iPhone is, the more likely ain’t going to work regardless of iOS it has.

I've used it so long that AT&T is sending me a new phone for free because of network upgrades that won't work with it. Well it's 2021 now, but from January 2018-July 2018 I used an iPhone 4s on iOS 8.4.1 (trust me the downgrade was/is absolutely worth it) and it worked, just very slowly lmao. Also that camera is insane for a phone from 2011. It's comparable to an iPhone 5s/6.

Well, let’s be honest. Using such an old phone these days must annoying so fair play for taking the challenge! It’s great that, despite being old phones, can be useful for someone else.
