Question I just got a controller which was over priced how do y’all hit those notes without strumming is it a type of section I gotta watch out for or the type of guitar

There are two types of notes you don't (necessarily) need to strum to hit. One of them is HOPO (hammer-on/pull-off) notes, which are identified by their black circle being replaced with a glowing white one, such as in 1:04. Those types of notes you don't need to strum, as long as you have a combo of at least one note, that's why there's usually a strum note before sections with HOPOs. The second type of note is the tap note. Those are semi-transparent, and you don't need to strum them at all. Tap notes appear at 2:00. HOPO notes look different in Rock Band. They're shorter horizontally than strum notes and have white bars on each side. Tap notes aren't a thing in Rock Band, but they are a thing in YARG, in which they're identified by also being smaller but instead of white bars, they have bars the color of the note and the middle is black.

I wish I had my own game company, I’d make my own spiritual successor to Guitar Hero and Rock Band! I won’t overload the series with too many sequels, but I would have a base game, the occasional sequel, guitar and drum controllers and I’d bring back what made the early GH/RB games great! I would also make spinoff titles covering different music genres, such as kid’s songs, Bollywood and K-Pop, I’d sell additional songs as DLC and I’d make the game VERY user friendly! As a middle finger to Microsoft over their recent misdeeds, the game would NOT be available on Xbox AT ALL! Only on PS5, Mac and whatever Nintendo’s next console is! I’d even sell a physical Mac version of the game in Apple Stores, it’d come on a cartridge you would put into any USB-C port on your Mac!

I returned it. I can't strum fast with where the whammy is - I have nowhere to plant my hand because the whammy is adjacent to the strum bar. Maybe I'm just dogshit, but it's an otherwise sweet controller that's accessible to a new generation of Clone Hero players. How do you like the riffmaster? The prospect of a brand new plastic guitar coming out in 2024 instead of having to roll the dice with eBay finds or modding one yourself seems too good to be true.

He's consistently described it as 'a very good Rock Band guitar'. That most likely means A: if you're really fond of the loud GH strum and quiet frets (RB guitars are generally the reverse) you'll need to adjust and B: it's a good OOTB experience and you can get really good with it (hence the video, he's also done really hard parts of TtFaF on YARG) but if you're looking to perfect things to the nth degree you still need to go with some custom mechfrets kind of deal.
