Learn two natural and easy ways to talk about the past in English. “Used to” and “would” can both be used to talk about things that were done in the past, but there are differences in how we use these. In this English lesson, you will learn exactly when to use “I used to…” and when to use “I would…”. We will also talk about the natural pronunciation of “used to”. Take the quiz on this lesson here: www.engvid.com...

Thank you for your video. I considered this topic to be difficult. However, you explained everything really clearly. I have never heard or maybe I've never paid attention to the pronunciation of "used to". So I was shocked that native speakers pronouns it like "useta" I always learn smth new from your videos. I like your approach to every topic and how funny you are. Moreover, it's easy for me to perceive your pronunciation and accent. That's why I can watch your video without subbtitles

Your explanation is great! I had a bad English teacher and I didn't know when to you "would" and that's why I avoided the word. Now I get it and I will use it with confidence. :) I used to eat lots of meat but now I can't because of my disease. I would eat lots of meat when we celebrated my friend's wedding - If my doctor had seen me, she would have scolded me. :D
@nadiyanadi182
@nadiyanadi182 2 жыл бұрын
Allow me to guid you according to your example : i use to eat a lots of meat but now i can't, the correct answer is: I used to eat a lots of meat but now i don't , in the past you use the verv in past " used " but now you use the verb in the simple present " i don't and not i can't .

Hey Ronnie I have a suggestion 😎. Why don't you take a break from your amazing lessons and talk us about yourself more, your life, habits, hobby maybe, childhood, study years, family...etc. I'm sure we all wanna know about you more. As for me, I'm really interested in these things, you know. When the famous people get to me a bit closer it's motivates me to learn English so much. I'm sure another ones too. :)
