Kratos was holding back in the whole GOW 2018 game. But when fighting Thor , the last punch he threw was him NOT holding back after many years for the first time. That's why Thor said "There he is, There is the god of war".

I know how you feel man. Just lost one of mine a couple months ago or so and when I was watching some other reaction to that scene it hit me really hard. I couldn't hold my tears so I cried for her. Ik ppl normally say this but go watch his scene with calliope in Chains of Olympus, he was in the most cruel fate imaginable to leave her forever. Kratos didn't "grow" as a character, he was a complex individual since Ares granted him his powers and tricked him.

@@carl_consumer.of.reality strong disagree. See his bond with Spartans portrayed in Ghost of Sparta, esp with the last Spartan soldier. See how he cared for Pandora as a child, see how he even was a human man with compassion and care when he talked to Orkos before killing him, he didn't want to do it. See how he chose to be better at a mere glimpse at a chance to be reunited with any member of his family, be it Calliope or his brother Deimos. Only God of War 3's final moments saw the culmination of the loss of his entire humanity after constant meddling and poking of his own life and killed half the Greek Pantheon. Even THEN he decided to sacrifice his own life and give the last power of hope to all of mankind instead of Athena. He wasn't always generic vengeful dude who is bloodthirsty for revenge in this entire saga at all. Ppl who say that in general baffles me. Like what major "growth" or character exposition is done? He used to be a father before so it is not his first mojo in this matter, he just broods a lot instead of talking. Don't get me wrong the current scale is great and I still love Kratos but it is NOT some growth..... Rather an expansion into what he always was.

Am I dreaming? You really get thrown right into action early on. Love it! 😁 I'm also like the look of the combat mechanics. There's a smooth and natural transition between Kratos' swing of the axe at times. Its much better than a standard hack-n-slash style.

So i will only watch part 1 of yours other KZbinrs. But when i am far enove with Ragnarok. I will continue watch God of War Ragnarok videos. Hey T! When you received the ability to frost your axe one thing you can do with that is charge your throw after frosting the axe and when thrown it will freeze the enemies and you can damn near smash an enemy with one blow.

Apparently, they had to go in and re-tweak the audio or re-record Atreus's voice actor during the process of making this game over the last few years, because his voice changed so much in the months and years of development of this game that he didn't sound the same through the process.

I had to finish the main story of this game before I could start this journey with you. I won't anything specific but just like in the 2018 game there are things that they foreshadow at the beginning of this game that you don't catch on your first playthrough. But that's one of the reasons why I enjoy watching playthroughs of games I've played because you catch things you didn't the first time around.

1:12:07 They do such a great job humanizing Kratos and Atreus with moments like Fenrir dying and how they act as a father and son. Then the developers remind you that "Oh yeah they're gods." Thor and Kratos swung their hammer and axe together and it froze a lightning bolt to the ground.

LiteWeightGaming, I played a little last night and I forgot about the "protection stave" at Kratos's home; I'm glad you brought that up! Also, when the wolf died, you cried, you're the only female player that uses tissues when you cry, I've seen lots of female players cry their eyes out, especially when playing RDR2 and they never thought of having tissues on hand; don't know why? Also, may I inquire as to which settings you chose to start the game with?

Older Kratos in this and 2018 reminds me of older Wolverine in Logan and weirdly older Michael Myers in the new Halloween films. And at least God of War has a fat Thor that isn't a joke unlike Avengers Endgame MCU Thor.

My theory on what Thor wanted from Kratos was what makes him special. He opened Pandora's Box and from it got the power to kill gods. I think while he is powerful, his true power comes out when he wants to kill a god. Thor wanted Kratos to desire to kill him, to show Thor this god killing power he has. We see it whenever someone threatens Atreus. Kratos gets extra mad and strong. It might be him going from "I want to beat this guy up" to "oh, you're gonna die now."

I'm worried about Kratos. He seems like he's getting older and more tired each time he fights, which is strange considering he is both immortal (at least age-wise) and thousands or years younger than both Thor and Odin. I feel like there's something going on we don't know yet, also for something he said in the previous game, in Jotunheim right before handing Faye's ashes to Atreus: "Let's finish our journey while I still have strenght". I don't know, just a hunch.

That "while I still have strength" line is still stuck in the back of my mind as well. He definitely just seems tired these days, and nobody could blame him. He's been at it for a long time, and he's been through *a lot.* One thing that I keep going back to is how Christopher Judge delivers the line "Then you know what I'm capable of!" at 1:07:29. Genuinely, no offense to Christopher Judge, but Kratos just sounds tired here? For lack of a better word. You'd expect Kratos to be roaring a line like that in his absolutely POWERFUL voice, but not this time. I'm sure it was entirely intentional on the director's part

56:25 I wonder if the reason for you not getting your parries right in this game, so far, despite hitting them everytime in the first one is this: there is a specific talisman in that game that one finds fairly early on called, "The Golden Talisman of Protection". Among other things, it increases your parrying window. Maybe you had that equipped and it made parrying easier. I know I relied on that one for the LONGEST time in my recent hard playthrough. By the time I swapped it for another (for some slow-motion action), I was good at parrying. Or maybe you just need a little getting used to the parrying in this one. Either way, you'll get there 😤😤😤

They adjusted the parry in this one for sure. Never bothered with parry talismans in 2018's GoW, but was able to nail them no problem. Seriously struggling to do it in this game. The default window must be smaller I guess? I'm not entirely sure what is going on. It almost feels like Kratos isn't pulling his shield out quickly enough, despite the animation playing? Strange stuff
