I understand what he meant when he said to Math Hoffa's audience that "he's always been afraid of success" because he seen it change everyone and didn't want the negativity it came with it. Makes me wonder what would be if Mic Geronimo cared like all the other rappers of his time.

Mic Geronimo was heavy in the streets in the 90's. It's crazy because you had to be around at the time but he was really a big artist that was holding his own along side a Jay-Z, Nas and other major artists at the time. He really looked like he was going to blow up on a star level. He is definitely still solid but as SG said every artist does not blow up to be on top.

Mic geronimo, Ras kass, Cormega all early early on were the only rappers ive ever heard people saying this is the next nas or comparing to nas. Ras kass i remember was toted as like the lyrical nas from the west, Mega was always compared to Nas alot of people queens people always thought mega was nicer in ways especially when the track became more aggressive, nas is more laid back but mega is super smooth to. And Mic geronimo, i remember people comparing his flow to Nas and saying how he could be the next Nas. Idk about him ever being bigger than Nas tho, when was that ?

I remember Mic Geronimo well. He came out when being an underground rapper was a compliment and not looked at as a failure. Artists like The Artifacts, Organized Konfusion, O.C and Big L can attest to that. Those who I just mentioned were super lyrical with the art of rhyming on their minds. Raw production to the point where you can almost smell the environment on each track. Underground Hip-Hop during 94 through 96 was ridiculously good.

I've said this on other people's posts to say this, the very first time I've heard Mic Geronimo is on his 2nd album "Vendetta(97)" on the song "Usual suspects"ft/D.M.X, Tragedy Khadafi, Ja Rule, Styles and Jadakiss(of the L.O.X). This was around 97. I heard it on the 📻 while recording music on a blank tape. D.M.X started the song off first. This one song I've heard not only Mic, but Ja Rule and D.M.X for the very first time. Imo everyone delivered on their verses! Unfortunately the remix of this song I didn't hear about until a few years later which has Cormega. The remix is just as 🔥! For those that don't know Mic was part of the group "Cash 💰 click", NOT TO GET CONFUSED with the members of Cash 💰 records artists that has, members of Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Turk, and B.G, they came around the late 90's around 96/97. The CMC also had Irv Gotti involved with the production of their first and only album. The CMC has Mic, Nemesis, Ja Rule and I could be wrong but I think Black Child and one more member was a part of the group too. The actual album exists but only online and it's hard to find and probably expensive too. The last albums I remember M.G put out are "The long road back(03)" and another album in 2007. He came out with albums every 5 years. Because of this episode it's good to know that he's still in the mix making more music! He's one of my favorite MC'S because of the Usual suspects song and he has a smooth voice and has versatility in his rhymes style. His road to stardom was rough but again I'm glad he's still in the mix making music. Shout out to the person who requested this story about him. G.L.O👍! To me he's one of the 🐐 s!

In what world was Mic Geronimo bigger than Nas. Illmatic dropped in '94, Mic dropped Shit is Real same year. There was a buzz surrounding Nas, to the point that Video Music Box did a showcase on the making of his debut album. Mic was just a middle of the pack rapper, that just didn't stand out. Especially from the other rappers coming out of Queens like Mobb Deep.

Illmatic dropped in 94 and went platinum in 2001... Think about that. Business suits don't care who the streets are digging. They're looking for SUCCESS. In this sense, Mic was as big as Nas, who didn't sell all crazy like the classic label of his debut would suggest. Jay 1st album also went platinum in 01.

It was Irv Gotti who stunted Mic Geronimo’s growth in the music industry. It’s a shame that neither Jay-Z,DMX or JaRule took Geronimo under their wing 🪽 once they blew up being that Geronimo gave them a platform on his debut album for them to shine. They should’ve returned the favor cause that’s what a real friend would’ve done. Yet I guess during that session,it was strictly just business for their only true royalty was towards Gotti.

Just goes to show that Royal Flush was the only real friend that Geronimo had out all the bunch of emcees that were featured on his debut album that showed him the up most royalty. The rest all showed their devotion towards Gotti. Even O.C. nor the Lost Boyz who were also on that album never collaborated with Geronimo on any of their projects either. Royal Flush till this day accompanies Mic Geronimo on Drink Champs and other interviews all the time.Friend’s today can learn a lot about royalty through Royal Flush.@@meekmozart5216

Vendetta is actually still organic Mic if you listen to it closely. It was a pretty good album and reflected the sound of the time. It was just the singles on there that made it look otherwise, and I always bemoaned Nothing Move but the Money and Single Life. Those were the worst records he could've did because that wasn't his style. Mic was always gritty and street, getting jiggy was his (and many others) antithesis. This is why you shouldn't align with niggas like Puffy cause they never really help your career as much as they try to milk you. I always loved Mic though as a personal fav.
