I have over 200 miles on my Sequoia in January in Michigan, riding on ice, snow, gravel, etc, this bike is amazing, so comfortable on gravel roads, tires hook up on everything, never spun/slid either end yet. I turned my stem over, it not only looks better, it feels better, and when I do get it on a trail, I'm sure we will separated at some point, when it lands the bar end won't contact the top tube, leaving it scared, it will hit the bar tape. I've been going for short rides, but they end up 40 to 60 miles, I don't want to get off it, this bike is filling the gap in winter when there isn't enough snow for the Fat bike. I think this bike is going to help me find my stamina I lost a few years ago..(heart operation) I'm gonna find a lot of excuses to ride this bike. Great Ride, My road bike is getting sold. I'll be down to 4 bikes again, Gravel, Mountain, Fat, and City bikes.. (retirement is good)

+Don Fraser that sounds amazing! Have you done any touring on it by chance? I'd love to hear an unbiased opinion of its handling while loaded up!

Not lost on me that you discuss the bike's 'clamp & bolt' system while giving us a close up of your schnoz's 'clamp & bolt' system.

Thanks for your videos on this bike. Where I live I have access to hundreds of miles of forest roads and that is 90% of what I ride any more. I've been doing fine out there with my Raleigh Misceo flatbar hybrid but have been wanting to upgrade for awhile now. As such, I've been drilling into the Gravel Bike information for months and in the end, my 2 top contenders were the Sequoia Elite and the Jamis Renegade Exploit, both @ $2k USD. I pulled the trigger on the Sequoia 3 days ago and mine should be here in the next day or two. Tough decision but in the end the Sequoia provided the wider tire clearance and I preferred the cable routed below the downtube. My LBS had me straddle a Diverge they had in stock to determine a proper fit for me and looks like the 56cm is best. I'm 5'10.5" with an 31.5" inseam.

I'm definitely more likely to have a 3mm Allen key on me than I am something that will cut a cable tie

It's a hideous color (toothpaste) and the wheels are really heavy, but I love my sequoia.

I want to get into Road/touring but also have the option of going off-road. Should I go with the specialized diverge - DSW or the Sequoia Thank you
@Spindatt7 жыл бұрын
+MSC hmm, the sequoia is definitely a little more tour-like but capable on the road (wouldn't really be what holds you back from most groups). The diverge is a road bike at heart, it's just slightly more capable than say a roubaix. Depends on what you plan on doing. If you mainly stay on the road, get a diverge for sure.

what's the difference between this and a diverge? I ended up getting a diverge because I didn't understand this bike.
@Spindatt7 жыл бұрын
+Rene Bravo that's a good question, I'll make that the subject of today's (tomorrow's upload) Vlog.

+gkelley I generally like a 54, but with the standover of this bike I think I'd prefer the 56
