I'm in the UK and on a 12 week isolation too, as I have brittle asthma and fibromyalgia. I'm oxygen and steroid dependent, leaving me immunocompromised and very disabled. It's tough, as I have no family here and my friends live a good hour's drive away. Unfortunately, not everyone here is taking it seriously, so thank you for putting this video out there Amy. Stay safe.

IT IS DOABLE! for everyone out there!! people have lived incarcerated, held hostage or hidden due to war for much much longer so, do not claim privilege and do yourself and your surroundings a favor and stay home. pretty simple!

We are leaving our vacation rental in Florida for a 4 day trip home--with stays at 3 hotels along the way. We are armed with disinfectant spray, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer and soap! Hopefully, we can protect ourselves during our trip. Have some gloves and facemasks to be used during travel. Once we get home, we'll do a grocery shop and then not leave the house unless we absolutely have to for food or other necessary supplies. Hope you and Tom stay safe.

My hubby works at an elementary school in Florida and they closed about 3 weeks ago and the kids were going to do online teaching - kids at home, teachers at the school but they told everyone to work from home. He is higher risk - 70 and had a heart attack 11 years ago. I’m in disability. Not being able to go anywhere is the toughest part. My doctor appts are now by FaceTime so I can get my pain meds renewed. We finally have some toilet paper, but lots of other stuff flies off the shelves pretty quick. The stores have limited quantities. The elderly can shop at 8 - 9 when the stores open. We only get what we need. Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

if you dont mind me asking, what health issue do you have. im freaking out if i get it ill die
@samhartford83884 жыл бұрын
@@anikaanjum2210 Amy Lee is seriously ill, but do you have underlying health conditions? For 80% of the people this is completely survivable, some people will get pneumonia and will get over it on their own, a smaller percentage will need to be hospitalized (which is the real problem at the moment, as the hospital beds etc. are in short supply), but most of those needing hospitalization will also recuperate, only a small percentage will actually die or get permanent health damage. That is, your risk level depends on your own health status. If you have no underlying health conditions, your chances of surviving the virus are really good. The panic is more related to the fact that the disease spreads so aggressively that there will not be the capacity to give the care to the 10-15% of the people who will need hospitalization, if we do not limit the virus from spreading by limiting our own actions and contacts.

He's started to pass away, and we can't be with him to hold his hand and be with him at the end. It's devastating, and painful. But we have decided, and KNOW he would agree, that it is more important for all of the other still at the nursing home, to NOT be selfish, and break the quarantine to go be with him. I hope with all my heart, that others make similar choices for the immuno compromised. I hope you stay well, my thoughts are with you❤

I've been put into shielding in the UK. The NHS declared me 'extremely clinically vulnerable' and was contacted many times to fill me in on the specific guildines I have to follow & what anyone in my household should do; essentially they have to follow the same guidlines otherwise they have to social distance within the home and clean facilities before the shielded person uses them etc. Luckily I live alone and my partner moved in with me to follow the same rules. We can't leave to go to the shops or anything 😒 but it's got to be done.

Hello from Canada; I can tell you the situation is no better here. I've been a Type 1 diabetic for 44 years and I had to reach out for help because my husband couldn't find alcohol pads or alcohol in the bottles and cotton pads (for cleaning insulin injection sites and fingerpicking for blood sugar readings; which I have to do a lot). He had to go to the liquor store and pay $90 + dollars for a 94% proof vodka (because even vodka has been ripped from the shelves) for me to be able to do what I HAVE to do to stay alive. In all of my life, I have never felt so vulnerable and scared because of my chronic disease.

They have closed everything except grocery and doctor's offices and pharmacies. Restaurants can only do take out or delivery. I work at Walmart, and it's insanity. There is no toilet paper, tylenol, children's tyenol, noodles, rice, lysol, hand soap, bar soap, pasta sauce, water, bleach, vitamin C, airborne, etc. I can't even stock things without getting trampled lol.

Stay safe and take care, lots of love! The world is so crazy right now. I live with a family of 10+ and we're only allowed 3 of the same products per household. We can't even get our usual weekly shop in right now. My sister in law even had dirty looks thrown her way for buying a pack of nappies even though she has a baby!

Don't forget that soap is more effective for hand washing than hand sanitizers. Homemade hand sanitizer, add more alcohol because the volume of alcohol will reduce the strength of the alcohol. You aren't on your own, in isolation. Stay safe everyone. Yep, I have the same problem, I need a face to face with my Doctor for my medication prescriptions.

I live in a family with 2 high risk people however i still am required to work in my normal environment because i work in the NHS, however my job has stopped because it was purely for organising work experience for school students and we suspended that. I am not allowed to work from home as I'm an admin apprentice and require supervision at all times, i am so scared about coming home with something from the hospital:/

From the US and there’s definitely shortages of so many things. If people just shopped the way we always do then we’d all be fine. And almost all of the US is quarantined. My state is. And it’s getting worse. I’m only watching till 12:00 cause I have to go but everything you’ve said so far is exactly how it is here even down to the store times and how doctors to come out to get some patients. Hospitals are all limiting visitors. I had a doc appointment in a hospital and my mom came with but she couldn’t come back with me

My partner has chronic lung disease so we our self isolating and it’s driving us both mad! Keep safe x

I’m in self isolation to, it kinda sucks. I’m so bored. Looks like I’ll have at least 11 more weeks of this. What are you doing to keep entertained? Look after yourself I know like me if you get this we have a high risk of dying so please don’t take any risks. X

I live alone and the quarantaine is the best thing to not spred it . Hope you stay isolated and safe. Thanks for beeing you and your updates. Love you very much.❤️❤️

Same hunny! My dad and I are isolating because he has crohn's and I have chronic asthma. Also, good luck finding ingredients for hand sanitizer, my town has run out of rubbing alcohol and aloe vera. I've been in isolation since Monday, and I am going stir crazy.

I feel ya, it’s nice to get out, even if it’s just a trip in the car without leaving the car. I also have EDS, Mast Cell, I’m a Cancer survivor and I just got out of the hospital for sepsis. It’s rough because my son works at an essential business here in California so he is around 100’s of shoppers a day and we live in a county with a high amount of confirmed cases and deaths. I’ve kind of come to the conclusion that there is only so much I can do and the rest I leave up to God. I’ve survived more than enough scrapes with death that I figure my body must be tougher than I think.

amy there is alot of stores in sheboygan wisconsin that have low toilet paper, paper towel, and sanitary wipes. so most grocery stores here are so empty. and its like the people who need those things are running out of it and it isn't fun. Some grocery stores here have signs up saying one per family, because of how bad the shortages are on things.

I work in a pharmacy in UK, things are crazy here too and no one is understanding that I'm on the frontline the same as doctors, I've had 2 patients "self isolating" and saying that they have symptoms of it...I'm sorry but it's so selfish to come in to us....we are fully protected even with aprons too! X

Glad to hear from you, nice to see you and family doing well. Everything you mentioned in video is happening here also( West Virginia usa) Walmart shelves are empty, I have 3 Walmart’s in about 1/2 hour drive from my house and ALL their shelves were emptied out earlier in the week. People are isolating some but then you have other people that have no choice but to go to work so I really don’t know how much the isolation will help. Well good luck to y’all hope everything goes good for you and yours

I’m in England and work in Sainsburys and it is absolutely crazy. Having customers moan at us for lack of stock when we are doing the best we can to get it on shelf. Wish people would stop panic buying as everyone needs stuff.
@winter71864 жыл бұрын
Our stores have been out of hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol, peroxide, bleach, and Lysol for a while now. Luckily we have stuff that we got before. So we're fine right now, but yeah. I joked with my mom that if this continues and worse came to worse we could maybe try repurposing toilet bowl cleaner, lol. there is also no toilet paper to be found for miles. We have enough of that too for now, but out of all the stores in town, I've only heard of one so far that people have found toilet paper at. So crazy.

I’m immunosuppressive with 4 autoimmune diseases & luckily taking Hydroxychloroquine which is one of the meds they’re giving people. I’m doing social distancing at the minute as isolation or quarantine will seriously fuck my mental health up.

I can’t get a straight answer out of my doctors on wether I should be worried. I have EDS, GP, Fibro, and a few other complications. I get sick more often and longer than other people but I’m not sure if I am immunocompromised enough for it to impact me like that. Either way I’m still playing it safe but it’s annoyingly they won’t give me an answer.
@janemh58664 жыл бұрын
It’s not that they won’t, they just can’t. This is a brand new illness so a lot of specifics can’t be definitively discussed as there just isn’t the information at this time. IMO you’re right to be playing it safe and I would keep doing that, because at this point the risk isn’t worth it if one is lucky enough to be given the option to avoid it. Particularly considering the restrictions places on everyone anyone. Stay safe :)
@ravenrose76774 жыл бұрын
J aneh M J aneh M that is an understandable explanation but they also won’t tell me how safe I should be playing it with a regular flu season. Or what to do if I have the flu. It’s in general lack of telling me. But I can see why my comment would make it seem like it’s solely the corona virus they are vague about.

Mississippi has the difficulty in finding hand sanitizer! Rubbing alcohol, aloe Vera gel are the ingredients to make it. You can use essential oil to give it a fragrance. Also, is toilet like gold there as well?

Greetings from California! Here at my work (we are essential so we remain open even though our sales are really bad) we have no sanitizer, face masks, gloves, alcohol, spray bottles, wet wipes, and soon, tissue. Toilet paper is long gone and exists nowhere around me, though we got a Costco pack before this nonsense hit so we are set. Everywhere in America, Australia, the EU, and Japan from what I know has no toilet paper. Likely other countries too.

I'm from Germany and in Selfisolation too. I've got M.E. , Hashimoto and PCOS + Asthma. Week 1 I just over and it sucks. I wasn't going out much anyway kinda like you, but now that I can't even do that anymore it is so frustrating. I do go out to buy groceries but only when nobody is in the shops and only with my husband to be a barrier for me from other people - if there are any. I do wear a mask and sanitize my hands like crazy. But I'm so scared to catch the virus anyway. There are no infected in my town right now (as we know off) but once there is I won't go out at all. Not looking forward to it. :(

Chemists deliver medications to patients like us so you don't have to go out to get them,phone them up, if they don't deliver then change to a chemist that does do it.

In Canada, at least in my City, primary care physicians are doing phone calls for all non-emergent situations and in the case of prescription 1 drugs we also require face to face every month or two... so there is a secure network Skype program... so we do that to have technical face to face “appointments “.... you should ask if your docs have access to that bc even though they are just bringing you in at appt time.. most of the masks unless at least N95 don’t actually work... just a thought as my household is in the same situation... all the best...
