Schlatt really is a special content creator. He’s an anomaly. Pivoting between genuinely meaningful videos that are clearly passion projects while then uploading a 3 hour VOD where he’s basically a react streamer but instead of TikTok it’s his fans torturing him with jokes they refuse to let die. Following that, outside his inner circle he keeps everybody he interacts with at an arm’s length. I don’t know how to describe Jschlatt except in a certain way he knows what he’s doing even if he’s at some point in a transition state. Jschlatt as a KZbinr is just… different. And that’s what makes him so entertaining.

I do really enjoy Schlatt being more personal and real I like the funny character he's built up but also it's sorta like- I wanna see him be passionate about something for a change and it feels like I rarely get to see that out of him as a creator.
@teamonkey32 ай бұрын
I think it being so rare is actually what makes it so nice. Imagine a character on a TV show who is only usually there for comic relief, but in some episode has a serious and heartfelt moment; it rewards fans of the character who have latched onto the personality by offering a glimpse into the person. Same with a celebrity, if your favourite comedian writes a book where they mix some more emotional or heartfelt stuff in with the jokes, it will feel more rewarding and heartwarming to their fans. I think the weekly slap is so interesting and hits so hard because Schlatt keeps that stuff OUT of his normal funny stuff, and segregates it to its own channel. This creates a divide in his content, on his weeklyslap channel he successfully got rid of the fans who are only around for entertainment, just like how he got rid of those innocent bystanders back in 1999. Truly one of the youtubers of all time, thank you "YouSchluber"

JSchlatt was by far the best part of Dream SMP. He played a version of himself who became President of L'Manberg in late 2020, and did an amazing job. I found his satirical performance of a corrupt populist comforting during a high-stakes real world election season. I think he was the only person on the server who never streamed during that time. He did it all to make other people's streams better. Interestingly he was one of the most widely-canceled people on Dream SMP back then. Now look at him four years later-- He's one of the most scandal-free people who's ever been on Dream SMP.

This video was super well made. You earned a sub. On the topic of Schlatt, I’m kinda in the same boat as you. I’ve been watching him since the SMPLive days, and I’m utterly fascinated by this man’s journey on KZbin. Part of me wants him to go back to those older more passionate videos because A Tribute to Mario Kart is genuinely one of my favorite videos on the site. But I know he’s never going back to that. But I’m gonna be the change I want to see in this site. I want to make some videos to scratch that itch.

I found Schlatt through... A certain SMP that I would rather not talk about, due to the bad people that were present on the server lol I didn't really care about his content, he was just kinda funny and that was it. I rediscovered Jschlatt through Chuckle Sandwich about 2 weeks ago. His energy was just really entertaining so I kept watching... And watching... And watching... I think I am kinda addicted to Schlatt in some way. Since I watched those couple of Chuckle Sandwich episodes 2 weeks ago I've been watching everything that he was involved. It might be a hyperfixation. I watched the tribute trilogy, started binging the weekly slap from the beginning, watching the Japan vlogs from JschlattLIVE, then I discovered Sleep Deprived and the SDMP. i could go all day naming the things I did but I think there isn't really a purpose. I'm kinda sad that I wasn't watching when it all was happening, but I will happily binge some random series or a podcast. I personally love the difference between the Schlatt we see in, for example, JschlattLIVE videos and The Weekly Slap. He just seems really entertaining in one and really genuine and caring in the other. Jeez this comment is long lmao Love the vid❤
