That is so cool & such a blessing. Sinatra was my mother's favorite, & although she did not lose her memory, her love of Sinatra was passed on to me, so that I now have a deep appreciation of the man.

The Nelson Riddle arrangements and orchestra made this so special and exciting! Frank was ultimately responsible. He was inspired by great musicianship throughout his career. Even though Frank never played an instrument, he felt every single part of the orchestra that was a part of his performance.

Frank Sinatra made me glad that I am a man with his music. BIG was the sound of the orchestration which was food for the soul of a man. Sinatra built on that with his interpretation of the lyrics of the song, always giving a man’s version of the fun in a song or the love of a woman in a song.. Sinatra gave a man in his songs the words of love which is not thought of enough or spoken enough to your woman. Constantly expressing a man’s buried feelings. Frank Sinatra sang a song the way a man should talk to a woman.

His technic and potency were so incredible that he could be heard perfectly even when he was singing low notes while the orchestra was really loud behind. What an artist! Can you imagine being in that room while singing/conducting/playing? You are doing your thing while all these sounds coming from everywhere are filling your ears... It is probably like getting high. Must be good for the soul.

This really is the best version of "I've Got You Under My Skin". Not only was Frank Sinatra on incredible form for this incredible session where it all came together, but the whole performance was given added kick by augmenting the number of double basses thanks to orchestral arranger Nelson Riddle. Whether recorded 'in concert' or in the studio, Frank's collaboration with Riddle on this Cole Porter classic is considered definitive, with this version powering through to claim first place.

I personally feel that this is his BEST version of "I've Got You Under My Skin" and at probably near the height of his singing career. Such expression and intensity where it is needed. This man was and still is a powerhouse (as Don Rickles said to him) A real entertainer with a golden voice. Never to be duplicated but others should take lessons from Mr. Sinatra on how to be a real entertainer. May he never be forgotten.

His style was similar to that of Peggy Lee. They both had perfect phrasing & did not rely on any gimmicks. But both exuded physical responses to the music that 'fit the beat' & showed audiences that they were completely there for them, for the music, & communicated those feelings beautifully. Splendid musicians they both were!

I was fortunate enough to see Frank Sinatra live in 1994 at Riverbend in Cincinnati. I was 33 years old. He was failing and moving a little slow. But the charisma and magnetism were still there. He owned that place. Seriously. I’ve never been to a concert with so many different eras of people there. People in their 80’s and young people all together to listen to the Man. My fav moment-an elderly woman, very classily dressed in a mink coat, stood up and yelled at the top of her lungs, “Sing it Frankie! Sing it!” He turned, smiled and called her to the front of the stage. He handed her the boutonnière in his lapel, and said “This is for you, Baby.” The crowd went wild.

I saw Mr Sinatra once in the 1908s coming out of his hotel when he was staying in London. Eventhough he was in his older years he was utterly hansome and he had the most beautiful peircing blue eyes...he had such charisma when you saw him up close. I was totally star struck! There was something so special about him. I loved Mr Sinatra since i first heard my dad playing his records at home as a child and ive loved him eversince. He was the greatest singer of the 20th century and a Legend..

Just imagine how much respect he must have had to be given this set-up, the set and the full orchestra, back when that sort of thing was unheard of, especially for singers of "standards." Just amazing, and thank goodness the man's work at his peak was preserved like that.

There will never, ever be another Frank Sinatra. The love ❤️ of my life , was a man like Frank. He idolized Frank. He walked like him dresses like him & yes looked like him. My love was an Italian (neopolitan). He passed 1/14/2000. He is “still” forever in my heart. Just a “Good Man” forever !

He's actually the ultimate expression of the big band. His voice was what a clarinet was for Benny Goodman or a piano to Teddy Wilson. He is the lead "instrumentalist" of the band. His instrument is his voice. His uncanny sense of timing was due to his symbiotic relationship with the band.
