Alot of shorter scale guitars like a heavier gauge string so they wont feel as slinky. And for the bridge issue, Save and cut off the ball ends on your old strings when you put new ones on. Then run the new strings through the ball end before putting them in the bridge. That extra ball end will act as a washer. Which will prevent the wrappings from coming out of the backside of the bridge.

In August 2023 I bought a Strat-O-Sonic. It's a great guitar. The only small problem I find is that the bridge is loose when changing strings. I installed a shield and the hum decreased a lot, when a single pickup or both out of phase are connected. It must be taken into account that one of the pickups is RW/RP. Connecting the 2 pickups (normal, in phase) produces hum cancellation (like Stratocasters in positions 2 and 4). When connected out of phase, it remains again in phase and does'nt perform hum cancellation. Therefore, the shielding of the cavities and electronics is important. Now I will replace the push/pull switch to connect the 2 pickups in series, with a toggle switch. The push/pull is not very operational. I think the higher end Squier Guitars are better than the lower end Fender (Player series). I previously bought a Fender Player Lead II and I'm going to sell it. It's okay but the Squier Strat-O-Sonic is better.

I got the Nashville Strat about a month ago as well. Squier QC failed again. Tone knob falling off and a loose truss rod. It took two weeks to get the neck to stop moving. After the repairs it is awesome. The pick ups sound really good. Laurel fretboard feels a lot like rosewood. Peace.

You say "after the repairs it is awesome." So, adding in the fixes, would you still say the guitar is worth it?

So?

It's the button heads on the tuners that rattle (not the tuner itself). Mine does the same thing.

Interesting. I wonder if I could hold the guitar upside down (so the tuning buttons face the floor) and dribble a little superglue into the buttons to stop the rattling...?

I just ordered one,planning to put some Gibson P-100s that I have laying around in It. These are humbucking. Also, Gibson makes Hum cancelling P-90s.

As much as I dig wraparounds, I much prefer a good hardtail, the G&L saddle lock bridge in particular which is also top loaded.

I have the same exact one color and all. Plays a fantastic and just feels great to hold a jam on. However I find that the pick ups squeal super easy and seem to be really microphonic. I can talk into them for instance and they pick up my voice way to easy. I’m curious if your pickups are having the same issue. BTW the hum is there on mine also but doesn’t seem as bad.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that I am going to swap out the pickups. BUT... it was an under $400.00 guitar and I LOVE it, so I'm fine with that!!!

I got one used a couple of weeks ago, major issue is the truss rod failed , and a minor issue is the toggle switch failed .

I read that those are not true P90s, but they look the part. I think they are basically single coils.
@takemebacktothenАй бұрын
I've read that too but it's false information. From Phillip Mcknight's video on this guitar, You can see it is a real p90 by the 2 magnets on the bottom. They're just underwound p90s

Isn't it just a cheap SG copy with p90s and a different body shape ? (Which could be cool, by the way)
@JoeHartRocksАй бұрын
Yes! And since I just do not dig the SG body shape (I'm way too used to a Strat), this is perfect!!
