As a previous Gen 3 Raptor owner I know they are fun trucks. I had an engine failure at 1600 miles, so got rid of it and went back to a 2023 Tundra TRD PRO in Solar Octane. Westcott lift & 35s really make the Tundra look bad ass.

But he did feel bad given the circumstances… I feel a ton better with the resale of this Raptor compared to the Chevy. Now I just need to take a moment and actually enjoy this one for a while. =]

ZR2weeks!! Owned one for about the same amount of time. You quickly realize that it’s not worth the price of admission. The ZR2 Colorado, love it! Something about the ZR2 1/2 ton doesn’t hit the mark… The Bison looks the part but falls short compared to other. Fake hood scoop, the MSSV shocks are a dud and , interior seats feel like park benches. Great choice! You and I are kindred spirit with this truck roulette. Currently I’m daily driving 23 F250 tremor Azure, 3” leveled on 24 x 10s hostile wheels on 37’ Toyo Open Country. Keep the content coming. 🤘🏽💯

23k on my 2022 raptor, love it more now than when I bought it. Have the exact same spec as you except in white. Added Geiser springs, 37s, Baja lights, SVC armor, and some random stuff like PPF. Great daily and super capable.

The dealership lost $8.37 on the whole deal. Their AutoNation Chevy dealership was buying the ZR2 for $75K so they took a $3500 “hit” just on the trade.

I've driven F150s with this same body style and hated it for every day practical use especially in grocery parking lots. They're a pain in the ass. I actually watched a frustrated driver of one of these drive over the curb because he didn't have room to maneuver.

That’s where all these low mileage new cars and trucks come from , people like us decide for whatever reason that the vehicle isn’t what we thought it would be so they traded them in or sold them early. It's a beautiful truck either way. I'd be happy. And I do love the 35's and the 37's. Do you know though, are there real snow tires, non-studded but real snows, not just 3 peak winter rated all seasons or all terrains, but real, softer rubber, good tread snow tires in the 37 size? How about the 35 size? And do you know what the specific tire specs are for both the 35's and 37's that come stock with the Raptor? (My little Jeep currently runs 235/70 R16's, for instance). Living in mountainy ski country, I'd love to run real snows Thanksgiving to Easter, and 3 peak rated all terrains Easter to Thanksgiving.

Strong buy, Congrats. I found a couple in the $78k range when looking for a new Raptor just recently. I was mainly interested in getting a 37, and found only 2 at msrp. The 90 grand msrp is tough to digest, so I found myself in a CPO 22 37 with the Torsen package and 10k miles on the clock. Pricing was right and saved quite a bit with the CPO deal compared to new.

We get wholesale on them through one of the distributors we use for arb components etc, but the wait time is like 6-8 months if you don’t place stocking orders so I’ve never actually ordered one! Their resale is as good as the raptors if you ever want to part ways with the truck which with you is a high probability! Or just keep it for a raptor in your future… also probable!

Untamed, you sure know how to provide endless entertainment. My wife knows you affectionately as the “car swap KZbin guy”. When my kids are in college they will learn about the “Untamed Factor” where the predicted vehicle ownership time is factored by 0.00435 * x where X is a complex variable depending on the last moon and wind cycle. Have fun with the new truck and glad the Lexus is still in the family for over a couple months (new record? ) as that one should last a lifetime compared to these other toys.

@@UntamedMotors The Raptor is really nice (although I wish you kept the first one) and I like it better than the Bison. I'm surprised you didn't think about resale value before you bought it. Nice that you don't have to pay sales tax on trades for a more expensive vehicle. Wish Florida had that law, would be a game changer for me.

@@CarStory yeah wish this was the Avalanche 37 I originally drove down there to get… but appreciate the fact that it’s over $10K less than what I would have paid for the 37. Prefer Avalanche over code orange 100%… Values on the ZR2 platform are all over the place. I was hopeful that the bison would be a bit more scarce and hold a premium. There is still a chance that they’d do okay but I just felt more confident in the Raptor at the end of the day. Getting $78500 for that bison would have been difficult to top had I kept it. 🤷‍♂️ I’m a nut I know. Hope to hold this longer.

The only thing I’ll say about car swapping. My car swapping days cost me a lot of money, but more importantly, time with my young children. I really regret how much time I spent searching, negotiating, and just plain concentrating on this stuff when my kids were young and I was occupied with swapping cars every few weeks/months. There were failed negotiations, endless texts/emails, dealerships and just plain time sucks. And for every deal that went through, 3 fell apart. Now I’d pay anything to have that time back with them...🥴

Regular discounts go away and despite making good $$$ profit selling at msrp, kickbacks on financing and dealer survey that still want 5k minimum and a bunch of shady add ons.... Dealing with the BS is a hard turnoff on a truck Id of bought outright... And of course we can't register outta state vehicles either... Congrats to you! I'd of jumped on that too! It also shows they're getting good $$$ on msrp sales, I doubt they were seriously hurting on selling it to you at that price.

I own the 2023 Ram TRX. I ordered outside of my home state. Flew out and drove it home. I can say that I respect and even admire the Raptor, Raptor R, Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor. I have been a Chevy/GMC guy all my life. But, with that being said, I will take the TRX or Raptor over a ZR2. It is a shame GM did nothing to compare. Great purchase and let the upgrades begin.
