I had to cut this quick today. I've been derailed from editing due to hurricane Helene and other things going on this week. And prior to the hurricane I was 12 hours from home at Ethos for 10 days doing video work and this was one of those videos I shot during my time there in New Jersey. I didn't have time to proof this video or ask anyone else to so I hope it's good enough to go! I'll share more about how I've been derailed and things I've been learning later time permitting. Nonetheless, I'm back at editing now hard core full swing again. Please consider donating to the work Dr Weiss is doing at Ethos. I have traveled all over the country and experienced all kinds of projects. But nothing has come close to being as essential as the work Dr Weiss is doing to restore the health of soil and connect that to the health of people. The work they are doing extends far beyond the land where the Ethos farm and clinic is. They extend their reach into inspiring farmers of all types to consider veganic regeneration and the health of consumers. We need a model like Ethos in every county, city, region of the world really. I will have lots more coming from this trip: www.ethosfarmtohealth.org/donate My name is Jeff. If you like my work and want to help me keep the cameras rolling and website going please consider contributing here veganlinked.com/fundme/ and/or becoming a member to the channel kzbin.infojoin and/or adding a free listing on VeganLinked.com and upgrading it. @@louiseschuler6163 My mom preferred to die from breast cancer rather than change her diet, although she had seen how powerful raw vegan diet had been to my conditions earlier. But can't blame her for that - even I experienced amazing health benefits, I went back to omni (and sickness) until my conscience forced me to go vegan. It was easy since I love animals. PB only for my own benefit is hard. And I didn't realize that WFPBD is enough, no need to be raw.

Fantastic talk, thanks Doc and VL....Just on bean cooking, I soak overnight and then cook in a pressure cooker for about 10 minutes...perfecto! Buying canned beans works out about 3 times more expensive than dry beans.

@@VeganLinked Yeah thanks.I used to use kombu and wakame a lot in recipes, but now I'm in the country and can't get easy access to them anymore. The upside is I've got 1/4 acre for food forest.... I put about half a teaspoon of salt in lentil soaking water and that actually keeps the skin from going burst when you cook them, so the lentils cook but maintain their integrity. But at the end of the day, it's a minor detail. Thanks again for all your great vids, cheers.

I would look at the sugar in people’s diet. Ultra processed foods are laced with added with sugars. Refined carbohydrates are a big problem. Saturated fats are esterified and not absorbed by the gut. Look at the work from Dr John Yudkin “pure white and deadly”. If inflammation is the root of chronic disease let’s start there. Sugars and fats are not a good combo tho but let’s eat unprocessed foods. Foods that have a single ingredient !!!

If what you're saying were true then all the patients of Walter Kempner would have been in serious trouble eating only white rice, fruit juice and table sugar. But they did great for how ill they really were (talking stage 4 kidney-patients before dialysis was invented here). We can't keep fat out of our cells, it blocks our mitochondria. Sugar doesn't do this, the problem with UPF's is the combination of a lot of fat and sugar and other junk like emulsifiers (who even help transport fat where we don't want it).

Ultra processed foods are also laced with a lot of fats. Our cells can't keep cells out and they clog up our mitochondria, this is what insulin resistance is. If sugars were such a big problem as you say, then all the patients of dr. Walter Kempner would have been in a lot of trouble eating only white rice, fruit juice and table sugar. They didn't get worse, they got better and lived longer.

You're worrying about nothing. Compared to the dangers that processed foods cause, roundup isn't something to worry about. Chef AJ calls it majoring in minor things. There will always be something we can't avoid. Most people aren't even trying to avoid things that can be avoided. They still eat their steak and cheese.
@11235Aodh

@@Goodbyeeveryonehere Sure, something that can replace glycine (the most common amino acid) in the receptor of our body and prevents our microbiome from synthesizing several vitamins (B and K) is nothing to worry about. You listened to Monsanto i'm sure. I listen to Stephany Senneff who has actually done research about glyphosate or dr. Peter Rogers a biochemist with vast knowledge of toxins.
@11235Aodh
@11235Aodh 2 ай бұрын
@@Goodbyeeveryonehere Where do you get your information from to say that this is a non issue? Glyphosate replaces glycine in our receptors which is one of the most common amino acids. Furthermore it disables the shikimate pathway, this is an important pathway to creating several enzymes by our microbiome (and in plants). My source of this information Stephany Senneff and for the biochemistry part dr. Peter Rogers. And i don't care if other people don't even avoid much worse things, i and many others like to avoid as much as possible that we know is a detriment as cancer and many diseases are multifactoral. Why not just go full out on UPF as well?
