20 yr Gulf of Mexico utility boat (100-160 ft) Licensed (ret) Captain here, we basically, unless we had one of the few really good unlicensed engineers, were both Captain and engineer. George is the most knowledgeable about his product boat builder I have ever seen. His safety features are over the top, everything is over-engineered and over-built. An AMAZING vessel.

I do agree that he is knowledgeable but can't say that he is the most. The owners of Bering and All Seas both are up there in the details they know about their respective line of boats and the engineering they put into them. Of course they are building mostly Explorer style boats so they need the redundancy and engineering because they may be days away from any help if something goes wrong.

I may well be in the minority with regards to this opulent, over the top mini luxury vessel, But with just 1500 nautical mile range, she is little more than a "coastal cruiser"... Even where I live on the Med. cost we are very much aware that nature can produce some really sudden and nasty storms on occasions... I can imagine all that loose furniture hurtling about the boat in inclement weather and I would question whether essential "sea worthiness" has been sacrificed for the sake of opulence...? Not what I'd be looking for, I have to say..but then I don't want to spend a lot of money just to potter around the Med.. For those who do, Size still counts and an 87 footer just won't cut it, sad to say....

George is so proud about everything on board. He was smiling throughout the tour. When a company puts pride and top quality into any product, especially on the little details that mostly would be unnoticed, that means alot. George seems to care about those things just as much as the important details and equipment. Even his knowledge about everything on board was impressive.

Makes a change to see someone who is passionate about their yacht. Especially the engine. Most yacht tour people are more like interior designers. They are more interested in chairs and cupboards. To me the engine room is the best thing in any boat.

The overall quality looks pretty high. But what I think was not ok was the fact that on an almost new boat parts of the paint from the aluminum vertical edge of the fore deck storage locker (next to the anchor winch) had came off and was sticking to the foam gasket on the hatch. this leaves exposed aluminum that probably will start corroding in the near future. edges like that should not be painted because it does fail easy. Maybe making it out of epoxy laminate or high level plastic that will last makes it a better construction.

I am more of a traditionalist when it comes to style, but this yacht impressed me on its use of space. For example, the master stateroom is comfortable in size but there are no large empty spaces that you will find on much larger yachts. This efficient use of space is evident throughout the yacht. The use of complementing materials and windows really creates a feeling of space.

I'll admit as this video started I was skeptical. I thought "Why put all this redundancy in, unless you're using components that you expect to fail?" But by the end I gained an appreciation for the idea that this is a vessel built to get the job done and get you where you're going without extraordinary measures. It is not because the components are sub-par, it is due to an appreciation that "stuff happens" and it will still get you home. Explorer indeed.

This is a beautiful example of what you can do when the designer/builder thinks out of the box. You should never ask why, you should ask why not. Of course, it comes at a cost, which was not discussed here. All this wonderful innovation is meaningless if unaffordable, though he did a great job explaining why it is definitely worth the money, if you can afford it. Thanks for sharing. Wow Christine 👌 what a yacht, you are spot on the quality is impressive... I would like a more industrial design of the interior. More driven by an explore yacht feel. My big take away is they need to offer more range 3000 miles + the ship needs Ocean crossing ability. With the nav equipment to match. Side note it looks like he would love to have you on his payroll. I would as well if I had such a company. If he put a 37 meter with 5000 mile range and gave you the ability to circle the globe promoting the product with a global adventure platform for both you and wife with crew and quest selling the brand.... Take it for a five year hitch... Very similar to the Fliming yachts series world wide. Just one man's opinion... The Banks Family 👪

What a nice and beautiful boat. It is back up on back up an again, back up on the systems for what, for Safety. That bridge, clean no filler crap in the way just one chair an one small bench for few others to sit and those negative windows were totally amazing. The outside looking back at them from the bow reminded me of a pair of cool dark tint wrap around sun glasses. The bridge dash, only thing to up grade it would be once you sat in the chair if the dash would fold back into a V shape for the sides so everything would be at the Captain's fingertips from his command chair. The chair could go backward about 15 degrees to make it feel nicer on hips and the lower back than sitting straight up. Now that engine room was great, over 6 thousand nm and it was still clean, that says alot about the build quality they have in Turkey. I noticed in master bedroom no TV, you don't want a tv in there. I know alot of women don't want to compete with a tv in their bedroom to get their husbands attention, am I right. You know I'm right. But you do have TV's in lounge areas, right where they belong. Only if you could take all the good things from this boat an add it to Alexes boats from Bering also based in Turkey then I think I would definitely buy one. Steel hull means more to me then fiberglass and aluminum hulls. Overall I give this a 8/10. Bering yachts are 9/10. So it is close, just the hull on this didn't make it. Thank you to George and Tristan for showing this fabulous boat to us and it's amazing details that Lazaro boats put into it.

This is the first time I've watched your channel and I'm glad to find something different - this has given me a new perspective on what's happening 'behind the scenes'. TBH I would have liked to see a little more of the user space i.e. the guest cabins, more of the outside social space and you kind of glossed over some guest areas that I would have liked to see in more detail. And I had to smile when the George the CEO repeated a few times that 'the decor is the 'owners specification'' (read into that what you will ;-) It's great to see what a captain and owner see as important in a boat, and I think this will change my view of some boats I've been looking at. The technical side and redundancy is amazing on this (and probably completely overlooked as I'm sure most people watching vids like this are more guests and owners (or we wish we were :-) )) Nice one!!

Such a detailed tour of a new engine room should be done with systems shut down or if not possible with voice over, as so much of the engine room tour was almost inaudible which did not do justice to his detailed explanations and the amount of high quality work done by the shipyard workers.

Redundancy is number one and always on my mind as well. We have to remember ( like a RV ) these vessels are built and designed to withstand Earthquake like events each and everyday. Things under those circumstances break much more than say at your homes. And having a back up plan installed directly minimizes those issues when they happen. Like in the middle of the night or in very terrible weather. At a time, it makes it extremely difficult to deal with those issues. Especially if you have guest who don’t understand the problems that comes along with these vessels. People tend to panic and get scared that the ship is going to sink or go adrift…!!

Working on the offshore oil and gas industry, having redundancy backup across all systems is a given, good to see this is in place

I went to Westfalia to look at centrifuges for an industrial process, and was told the disc stack type were used to clean fuel on marine vessels. They said every ship had one to clean the fuel as an insurance requirement. My point....there seemed only one sitting central against the forward bulkhead? and you didnt point it out lol. George could show Pharma engineers a new standard!

???? We did Tim, the fuel polishing machine on this yacht is built by Alfa Laval, it’s clearly spoken about in the video. I don’t understand your comment.

At 4:13 I was thinking "How much is that Tender in the Window?" Oh Man Even that boat is Beautiful and GQ sexy in it's own way. The way VIP's get to shore call, I'd have to say to the Capt., "Move over James I'll take it from here, Thank You Very Much Captain.

It's wonderful that so much attention is paid to redundancies it gives you that extra piece of mind when you're out in the middle of nowhere.

I love how he says "you do not want to miss this"! One of the very few you-tube people who is totally correct to say that. He could tell me I do not want to miss what it feels like to jump off a high rise building with out a parachute and I would do it no questions asked (ok would not actually do it, but you get the point. i like my feet where they are and not up in my ears)

It's a hell of a boat. But I only saw a master suite and it was mention that you can have 8 guests. The guests quarters were never shown. Also what is the price of this boat?

A beautiful boat. I wonder how it would look like when an Italian designer would have designed the interior .

It would look exactly the same as it was designed to the owners requests.

How do you sit comfortably in the captains chair _and_ use the steering wheel? They should draw some inspiration from sci fi space games like Star Citizen on how to design the helm area.

Once out in open sea, you will mostly be using autopilot. If you’re on manual steering, chances are you should be standing and concentrating.
