Didn't think he would return when the rumours first began and even felt some disappointment in that. Bizarre substitutions were also a crazy part of his so called Management. On the playing side, more than half of the team the didn't even look fit, they were flagging after 15 minutes in matches. They were lucky not to have been relegated the season before. It was obvious that he had to go after losing 7 games on the spin at the start of last season. It was all a total shambles and major embarrassment. He allowed the place to turn into a 5 Star Holiday Camp for the players. Elite Manager ? You must be Joking .....

Wages, and they don't run the club at a loss. Most elite clubs in Europe are chronically in debt whereas Celtic's balance sheet holds tens of millions in net equity. The club seems to purposely hold a huge cash cushion so should they have to launch a major rebuild in any one season, then they can. Rodgers would not be back at Celtic only he knows he has considerable funds and top-class management structure at his exposure.
