You have to go to the McDonalds in Hicksville NY. It’s a mansard roof, they have 3 part rooms, an arcade, a birthday throne chair, rainbow chairs from the 90’s, and lots of character decorations. It’s right down the street from the CEC

We just ate breakfast at the Banning McDonald's just the other day. They still have a functioning play place!

Two years ago they leveled our old McDonald's that still even had a pagoda out at the edge of the parking lot for pay phones (with that same brown style roof, and the sides that looked like glued together pebbles.) I wish I'd gotten pictures of it. It hadn't had a meaningful building update since at least the 1980's (interior updates kept pace though.) They basically did the same thing as this video, except they straight up closed down, leveled the building, then built the new one on the same space. The worst part was the 40+ yr old trees around the place are gone so that intersection just looks strange now... until the new trees grow up, at any rate.

So cool! I really wish that old McDonald's could just stay. It is so stupid that they really think that the new ones look better. This just happened to one of mine. Back like ten years ago, mine had some cool artwork, and an outdoor playground, but of course, they tore it to the ground, and built a new one right on top of it.

So cool! Glad u got to visit it. Probably tearing it down not just by force but probably due to its old age and the fact the play place probably has a lot of germs from the kids that play in em (unless they be putting in the newer version of the play place)

There's a McDonald's in winston salem nc with a mansard roof at Stafford rd, and photos as recent as last month show the mansard roof

There is an old Pizza Hut roof by Hudson Mall at the corner of NJ 440 and US 1/9 Trucks. Not sure the date but I was really impressed by it

I worked at McDonalds before Covid it had the old roof until they remodeled it during the pandemic. They had booster seats with the characters on them

Ours in Ironton Ohio is this old version just without the play place. You were close to it when you were at Billy Bob's.

It's still in really great shape for it's age and I don't think they're going to destroy it anytime soon lol I remember when they "updated" it by putting in the second drive thru window and second speaker lol

Those McMansards are definitely becoming a dying breed. In the UK, they're still going strong, but they now all have McBox interiors. The reason why the McMansards persist here is because of restrictive planning laws and the practicalities of remodelling a location, which is not like how it's done in the US, so most continue to have them, albeit with some modernisations done to bring them up to the same standards as the McBoxes.

Worst decision McDonalds has made is to turn their locations into bland generic gray office buildings. Literally the only reason I cared to go was the cool design and decorations of the locations

I live near this location, this was my go-to McDonald’s for years when I was a kid. I had many fun times playing in the playplace with my friends. For the longest time, I was happy that it was able to still stand with the original style. It was the only one in the area that kept the original style. I’m pretty sure Covid killed the playplace. Then it had a fire and that pretty much was the beginning of the end of this one. A few months ago, my dad and I drove by it and saw the new modern building. Sad moment. I’ll always have the memories from the years prior.

What gets me angry? The whole thing about McDonald's is that the CEO would rather desecrate their history. That made them so successful in order to push a narrative that nobody in America really wants. It's no wonder why Mcdonald's is having so many problems right now. That goes beyond just the state of the economy's fault.Why McDonald's is having so many problems either. This is why small business restaurant don't change things because they know if they do.They'll drive away their customers that they've had for 30 40 50 60 70 80 100 year. Small business restaurants know pandering just to push a narrative that nobody wants is wrong. Because they don't want to desecrate their history that mad them successful in the process.

I really hate the new look to McDonald’s. It doesn’t say McDonald’s in my opinion. It just looks like any other building now. The only thing indicating that it’s a McDonald’s are the large golden arch signs that are outside every McD’s. I wish they would go back to having style and looking more family friendly than this ugly neutral design. But I know they have their reasons for doing it this way.
