Your video brought back so many happy memories for me.The walk you both did is a lovely walk which i have done myself a few times during my stays in Malta.Bugibba and Qawra has changed over the last few years which you both did notice.But is still wonderful to stay and visit.Thanks for this video which was most enjoyable.

I remember Qawra in the 1950s. It was a depressing wasteland. When they started to build hotels and apartments over there - as well as at smelly Salina - I used to say: "Why would anyone want to live there?" The taxi driver drove me through Bugibba & Qawra a few weeks ago. I was amazed that the area is now all built up!

I am just back from the building site that you have just watched. Go away from the promenade and you will see a totally different place where there is poverty, uneven sidewalks and no street lights. There are power cables strung everywhere so you may ask yourself about health and safety issues also. You go to Malta at your own risk.

Lovely video It brought back such happy memories for me too The Sea still looks so inviting I would love to know which month this was filmed in as it looks just how I prefer it: not too hot and not overcrowded Thank you for sharing
@AntonandBella6 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! Yes, the sea, right on your doorstep, is the one things we absolutely loved during our time in Malta. To answer your question about when when we filmed this video, it was in mid-October so not as busy as July & August.

Can you please tell me whether you could swim at end of October /beginning of November still? :) Thank you!
@AntonandBella4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question. We have always found it okay to swim up until mid-October, but after that, the water temp can sometimes get much cooler quite quickly. Anton would usually swim until mid-November and Bella until mid-October. It really depends on your cold water tolerance. Hope that helps a little.

I'm heading back for my 5th visit next week. I'm an Aussie who has lived in the UK for 20 years....I'm deciding on Malta or Montenegro for my next move which should be this time next year.

Hi. Great to hear you're revisiting for the 5th time as an Aussie based in the UK. We've just spent some more time in the Balkans and absolutely love the feel of the region. We visited Bucharest in May and have just finished a trip to Tirana. Haven't made it it Montenegro yet however it is on the list for next year. Would love to hear what you decide on for you next move though. Feel free to keep us updated! Thanks for watching. 😀

Thanks for the reply and for letting us know. It's fantastic to hear! It will be a great time of year to visit Bucharest too. Our first ever VLOG was sharing our experience visiting Bucharest. Here's a link to that video if you're interested. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2jElIeEo7SZhtE Please do keep in touch as we love hearing what fellow Aussie travellers adventures look like.

Good start. The only problem in Malta is you are unlikely to have enough time to explore it all. Then there's Gozo

What time of the year did you go as weather looks nice. I’m coming in June. Been there before years ago but will be first time for my wife and 2 daughters.
@AntonandBella11 ай бұрын
Our visit for this video was done in mid-October. When we were living on the island we were still swimming up to the start of December and then would start up swimming again in April, so if you're planning a visit in June the weather should be very comfortable. We did find that August and September were the two hottest months for us, and also the busiest due to school holidays. Feel free to post any another questions might have and thanks for watching! 😊
@leeburrage402311 ай бұрын
@@AntonandBella thank you. It will be our first family holiday/honeymoon. First time in Malta for them think it’s 5th for me. So June would not be too warm. We are staying at San Antonio in Buggiba/qawra. You can get like the weekly bus cards from the airport can’t you and I can easily pay for them with my bank card? You still live in Malta?
@AntonandBella11 ай бұрын
Wonderful to hear that it will be your first family holiday/honeymoon! DB San Antonio is a lovely resort. We've eaten a few times at the Indian/Moroccan restaurant at the resort called Tajine. We think you'll really enjoy yourselves at the resort. The area heading towards Qawra has also changed a lot in recent years so lots to explore when you're not all relaxing! As for the public transport, the main Buġibba Bus Terminal is very close to the resort so we suggest you always leave from this terminal as the buses fill very fast and you may not get a seat if you catch it at a stop further along the route. There is also the ticket booth at the bus terminal where you can ask to purchase the Explorer Cards. You can also visit: www.publictransport.com.mt/en/bus-card-and-ticketing for more info on ticketing. Hope that info is useful! And to answer your last question, we no longer live on island as we're still very much exploring the world at a nice slow pace, and currently we're in Australia visiting family. Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday!
