Did Sanctions Actually Hit Russian Families and How Exactly

Sanctions have hit Russian and Russian people hard and, of course, the way of life we used to have just months ago is different now.
But how much did things change? Is anything getting better or even worse now? What is the actual affect on different sides of being a family man in Russia?

........and what do you say to the many everyday citizens who do not have sufficient food and water, or a roof over their head? Poverty and suffering know no country boarders, nor discriminate among genders, races, ages, orientations, or political beliefs. I get your point, it's just that I really wish that we would all do something more proactive than just stay quiet and pretend to be thankful that it isn't us starving and homeless. ☯️

Spiderman@The sanctions made by the European governements are actually hurting poor and middle class people more! Now the state have to help people, because they can´t pay their gas/electric bills... food and gasolin is rising, seems like only the rich is getting richer from this "crisis" And big corporations are paying and lobbying with the politicans, so it makes you wonder who these "politicians" actually represent... big business seems like the short answer.

I had to deal with right VPN but I also found there's no much difference as before in terms of living quality. But, yes, shops are with full of quality products and there are more new modern apartments being built. New restaurants are open, which I really enjoyed today. I think the life here became even better. People will find jobs since companies need to replace foreign brands and products with local brands and products. Thank you for your report.

I came from the United Kingdom originally but have lived in Australia for many years. It makes one wonder why there's the continued degree of friction or mistrust between Russia and the 'West' (or is it the rest?). I look at people in the video walking around, shopping, kids playing and apart from the the very noticeable big blocks of apartments (flats/units) that could be anywhere in many places in Australia. I didn't see anyone who looked like they wanted world domination! Thanks for sharing.

@@aus3492 I can't understand why when the United States destroyed Iraq and killed 500,000 children by inventing a false reason, you didn't talk about that war? Why, when the United States destroyed Libya by inventing a reason and turned a rich secular state into one of the poor countries, did you not talk about that war? Why were you silent when the USA destroyed Yugoslavia? And why are you now accusing Putin, who has at least six reasons, including violation of the NATO Non-Proliferation Treaty of 1990? Thinking of my own city in the UK (Birmingham) we also have shops underneath our apartment blocks. The parks you have out there are great and the kids look as though they are having fun - what is cool is seeing tables for chess and for table tennis which we tend not to have here. In reality, we are all the same as we strive for the same things, its just our cultures that are different. I follow Alex and Valeria on the Different Russia channel and learnt from them that you can buy an apartment that has the utilities and is just a shell and that the home owner employs someone like Alex to turn it into a home. I have also noticed that there are playgrounds for the children around the apartment blocks. I hope that your job stays secure Zangieff and thanks for sharing your beautiful country with us. Germany here. Food prices some going up significantly, other products barely. Energy costs skyrocketing. Rents I don't know, but more or less everything will be affected to some degree. Small businesses closing is always an ongoing thing. I have been downtrodden by the rotten system for a long time, so my life hasn't changed that much - same misery with a bit extra stress. People protest, but they are too few, too late (reactionary), they don't have much say in this US-controlled oligarchy, and are stupid enough to vote a head of state into office AFTER he had several major corruption scandals. If the utter lack of hope and the rage about people's foolishness wasn't giving me chronic burnout, I'd have done everything to move to Russia long ago.

I really like your videos Zangieff! I think many other KZbinrs feel pressured to show how bad sanctions are in Russia. I don't think they are trying to tell lies or whatever. Maybe they just think that is what people in the west want to see. In contrast to that, you are showing the stores as they are and telling us how your personal situation is. Things are different in Russia now but not a catastrophe.

If I am not mistaken what the government had planned was to push on with infrastructure development, eg roads and railways but this war will result in resources having to be invested in Donbas to rebuild homes and infrastructure. The infrastructure upgrades are still the best option for the government to invest in. This directly improves business efficiency in both private and public sector. Clearly such such investments would help rural areas and this is the are in need of investment.
