This really was a very intersting day, I was told about this place by a Telegram Subscriber. They recommended it head out to this place to see how the Children run the railway system. It really was fascinating to see how much passion and excitement children have for the Russian Railway System. If you would like to join me on Telegram, and perhaps recommend a new place for me to discover and make a video about: t.me/travellingwithrussell Maybe you want to support the channel, buy me lunch or send me off on a new adventure? 💳 (Russian Bank Deposit) Sberbank: +7 916-313-0982 💳 (Set up for Everyone) www.donationalerts.com/r/travelwithrusell

The Children Railway in Yekaterinburg transfers passengers from one side of the huge Mayakovskogo park to another. Believe me it is very comfortable to take a train after a whole day on foot 😊 Also they operate real cars and locomotions that were used in the North and even in Sakhalin. Children's Railway is the second life for the old transport and infrastructure :)

I studied here from 2006 (I was 13 years old at the time) to 2011. In 2005, a major reconstruction was carried out here, from the replacement of rails and rolling stock to the reconstruction of the building where they study. There seem to be about 20 such roads in the country

In the summer we worked on the Railway in Mayakovsky Park, and in the winter we studied the structure of railways and various rules of train traffic. Several years ago, the Children's Railway in Yekaterinburg was reconstructed with the construction of a new main train station. Now it is quite a modern and attractive place! Talking about children and railways. If you ever travel by train in the summer you can notice young conductors. The students conductors team is very popular in Russia! it is both a way to see the endless Motherland and to earn money duaring the summer vocations. Also students love to entertain passengers especially youngsters - they go from one car to another showing a puppet theater or playing with kids.

This “school of railways” is a very unique thing, not just Australia, many parts of the World are lacking institutions like this. They should introduce these training schools in areas where many people are interested in rail transit, in Japan perhaps?

Bloody youtube deleted my comment, possibly because I url'd the site of the romney hythe and dymchurch steam railway in the UK. It take one hour plus to travel 30 kilometers along the 15" (38cm) gauge line on real steam trains pulling up to 12 passenger coaches. The russian childrens railway is great because it is run by kids, but I can't help feeling it is a little small (15 min end to end.

Hey Russell, very interesting. Great video. I don’t understand though. Why you apologize so much I mean you’re there for a celebration that should be talking to the students and get some interviews, but it’s like you don’t wanna get in their way. I don’t understand that you should be talking to them and not talking so much to the audience. I mean this is something that probably not even seen here in the United States when you think about children’s railways, you think about little tiny railways or railroads in an amusement park or something or railroad museum I don’t think there’s anything like this in the United States. I might be wrong, but you should’ve interacted more with the students and people at the celebration not apologize so much my goodness other than that great video.
