The Children Railway in Yekaterinburg transfers passengers from one side of the huge Mayakovskogo park to another. Believe me it is very comfortable to take a train after a whole day on foot 😊 Also they operate real cars and locomotions that were used in the North and even in Sakhalin. Children's Railway is the second life for the old transport and infrastructure :)

I studied here from 2006 (I was 13 years old at the time) to 2011. In 2005, a major reconstruction was carried out here, from the replacement of rails and rolling stock to the reconstruction of the building where they study. There seem to be about 20 such roads in the country

ДЖД стали строить в конце 1930-х когда ввиду развития автотранспорта стали неактуальны лёгкие быстросборные полевые узкоколейки-"декавильки" и их имущество чтобы не отправлять в переплавку решили отдать детишкам на побаловаться. Т.е. ничего специально для детей не делали, были секции полотна, паровозы, вагоны итп хозяйство использовавшееся, например, на больших стройках, на стройки пришли грузовики - узкоколейки стали не нужны.

When you said the "Children's Railway" I could not help but think of the "Orphan Trains" we had in the US. People would go aboard the "Orphan Train" and pick out the kids they wanted to "adopt". The "Children's Railway" is an interesting topic and one I have never heard of before!

Oh, when I was a kid I worked on the Children's Railway in Yekaterinburg. A very interesting and responsible activity for children. In the summer we worked on the Railway in Mayakovsky Park, and in the winter we studied the structure of railways and various rules of train traffic. Several years ago, the Children's Railway in Yekaterinburg was reconstructed with the construction of a new main train station. Now it is quite a modern and attractive place! There is also a narrow-gauge train museum there now. There are many interesting exhibits.

Did you know that you can ride a real narrow-gauge steam locomotive on the children's railway in St. Petersburg? It makes several trips a day in the summer on weekends from Kupchino to Pushkin. Talking about children and railways. If you ever travel by train in the summer you can notice young conductors. The students conductors team is very popular in Russia! it is both a way to see the endless Motherland and to earn money duaring the summer vocations. Also students love to entertain passengers especially youngsters - they go from one car to another showing a puppet theater or playing with kids.

One station serves the river beach, two others serve the adjacent children's summer camps, the fourth is a Orenburg City terminus. The Railroad operates only in summer, June to August.

Знаете что означают цифры на вагоне? Верхние 019 - код дороги. Московская железная дорога. Нижние, первая цифры тип вагона 0- св первый класс, 1 - купэ 2 класс, 2 -плацкарт третий класс, 3 - сидячий вагон ( без спального места)

Cool-In America, every kid is pushed to go to college, get indebted $250,000, and spend the next 20 years paying off that debt. The college education is so watered down now that you need one to get a job at a hamburger place. Meanwhile, a Master Plumber makes $100,000 a year - go figure.

@@marekokragy3341 People often don't understand that when Russians tell you about their income or salary they always name the net amount after all taxes, medical and pension insurances, etc.. Employers in Russia act as you tax agent and you always get "clean money" salary. If you take into account the cost of living a $100,000 a year in the US and 150,000 rubles a month in Russia are pretty much the same.

@@marekokragy3341 You've made the same mistake and didn't take taxes into account. While I was still living in the US my taxable income in the late 90s was about $120,000 which is equal to $240,000 or so today. More than a third I had to spend on taxes. Add health ensurance and everything else Russians are getting by default. My youngest son gets 350,000 rubles a month net and he can afford much more in Russia today than I did then. So yes, I can compare.

Bloody youtube deleted my comment, possibly because I url'd the site of the romney hythe and dymchurch steam railway in the UK. It take one hour plus to travel 30 kilometers along the 15" (38cm) gauge line on real steam trains pulling up to 12 passenger coaches. The russian childrens railway is great because it is run by kids, but I can't help feeling it is a little small (15 min end to end.

Hey Russell, very interesting. Great video. I don’t understand though. Why you apologize so much I mean you’re there for a celebration that should be talking to the students and get some interviews, but it’s like you don’t wanna get in their way. I don’t understand that you should be talking to them and not talking so much to the audience. I mean this is something that probably not even seen here in the United States when you think about children’s railways, you think about little tiny railways or railroads in an amusement park or something or railroad museum I don’t think there’s anything like this in the United States. I might be wrong, but you should’ve interacted more with the students and people at the celebration not apologize so much my goodness other than that great video.

В описаниях к роликам Рассел всегда указывает фактические дату и место съемок, так что тут понимать нечего, достаточно просто посмотреть.

Это был последний день сезона и последний день выпускного класса после 5 лет. Там было много контролеров безопасности, даже мне сказали отойти подальше от поезда один или два раза.

@@sailorf585 где я написал что я чех? а на счёт всё импортозаместили, это неправда, хотя конечно большинство комплектующих отечественные, 97%, а электроника иностранная и тяговый редуктор Чешский, да, я ошибся в детальке какая Чешская, но он правда Чешский, а что отечественное и импортное измеряется в весе деталей, то что самое тяжёлое, то и Российское, если про техническую составляющую говорить, их на вес измеряют

@@sailorf585 и это кстати не скрывается официально, так что не нужно мне угрожать, я живу в России, получаю пенсию за вторую группу инвалидности с детства, катаюсь на общественном транспорте и посещаю музеи бесплатно, меня многое устраивает, но и обманывать что такое то 100% Российское тоже не стану, всего лишь уточнил что часть запчастей иностранные

@@SathyaswamyS India and Russia are friends, this channel is not about politics, and I think Russia is not the champion in corruptions for sure. And Russia is a digital society and to deal with corruption is more and more difficult now
