Worth the Wait: Fujifilm X100VI After 10 Months

Ordered right when pre orders opened up and got my cam on the first of march. Perks of living in Norway! The camera was sold out quickly and there was some waiting time, prices on used market got stupid high as usual. As of now it is relatively easy to get the camera and prices on the used market dropped as well. Smooth sailing now.

I pre-ordered mine on the day it was announced here in the UK at an event put on by Fujifilm UK, 28th February 2024. I collected it in the first week of August 2024 and boy, it really was worth the wait. I love it. Happy New Year.

I ordered mine here in the States on February 25th. It was delivered and I had it in hand on December 6th! Crazy! - But so far it has been worth the wait. Really loving it. :-).

@@FilmedbyFresh I have to wonder if this is going to be the new normal for cameras like this? I hear its not as bad (but still delayed) for the XM-5 and apparently the XE-5 is coning out in the not too distant future and I bet demand will outstrip production on that one too. I won't even mention the XPro-4 that is rumored for 2025.

Word. I love my x100vi, but I want an x pro4 as well. My main camera is an xh2. I sold my x pro3 and don't feel like going back. I am waiting for the gfx 100 version rumoured to be dropping in march 2025. If the price isnt too high I might buy that one and wait until 2026 for the x pro4. At this point I don't even want anything spectacular with that camera. Just a boring update: ibis, 40mp Sensor, new battery and software. Screen, I don't care.

I would be completely fine with a minor spec bump for the pro 4 as well. The rumored gfx sounds interesting but f4 and no ibis is holding back my enthusiasm. hopefully the rumors aren’t completely accurate. The x100vi will hold me over, it’s a cool little camera

Great video bro. I would love a x100VI but I think for me I might got with the Ricoh IIIx HDF because I already have my Fuji x70 and I want some super pocketable and building out my EDC camera kit soon. But love seeing these vids bro. It's wild how long you had to wait for one. Nonsense LOL

The Ricoh looks like a great camera. If it were f2 or faster I would’ve pulled the trigger on it. I think my next camera will be a GFX but we’ll see

i was in japan when the pre-orders opened and my dumba- set the wrong alarm and missed the pre-order.. i was so mad at myself that i somehow had to convince myself that the x100vi wasn't going to be worth it anyway (i already shoot on an x-e4 + a7iii). but after seeing so many in depth reviews over the last few months (after folks have had months/year with the camera now) i've been absolutely sold on it. so i went back to adorama and placed a back order immediately. probably won't get it until next christmas but for what it's been shown to be capable of, i know for a fact that i will keep this camera for the rest of my life or hand it down. hopefully the xpro4 gets announced in the mean time and that i'm not in japan during that pre-order lol.

You’d think they would be selling them at gas stations in Japan lol A friend of my summed it up nicely, “the x100v was a trend camera and the vi is a legacy camera” when I first held it I thought about passing it down too lol
