These are my first impressions of using immersive environments with the Apple Vision Pro. I really didn't expect this, and I am blown away!
Sorry, not the best stream quality. The resolution on here does NOT do it justice at all. The immersive experiences in the Apple Vision Pro are amazing. I am very impressed!

The environment feature is such a great feature but most of reviews they skip this part. Imagine spending an hour there after a hectic day, just finding some peace. Really can't wait to experience it myself! Thanks from Australia.

@@alwayscallingmeblaze🎉🎉 the video is amazing! I’m so interested in buying one and I’ve got a few questions since there is no chance to try on them in the UK yet. I’m not a huge tech fan (yet), so I don’t really get the differences between 3D video, special video, 360 degrees video etc, which one does the video that you are showing belong to? Does the surrounding in this video look real to you or you can easily distinguish it from the reality? The first idea popped up in my mind after seeing those “immersive” videos by vision pro is that I could film those immersive videos of my family and friends so when I miss them I can see them as they are next to me, so I wonder if this is achievable with Visionpro? Thanks!

@@jackzhao3322 Good questions! I also didn't understand the difference. The immersive environments are spatial video, which is a different from 360 video. Hopefully, I can explain it accurately. 360 video is shot in all directions with poles/seams usually on the top and bottom and the video is still a flat plane i.e. no "real" depth. Spatial video combines 360 video and 3D. So, its shot in all directions but there is real depth to it. If you watch my All Immersives video you'll see some more examples. The trees you see are like little cut outs and have been moved closer or further away to give depth. In Mount Hood, if I watch a video in Cinema mode, the video will appear over the lake and reflect off the lake. So, there have been areas of the image that have been moved around to give real depth within it. The Immersive Environments are VERY, VERY realistic. The videos here don't do it justice - not even close. I believe this is because of the extremely high resolution and spatial audio. I use it to help me study as I have ADHD and it works perfectly. BUT - the spatial video and audio seen during the Apple demo and in the environments were shot on some crazy expensive camera. The Apple Vision Pro is NOT capable of producing that kind of video. To be honest, they're nauseating. The way it works - as far as I can see - is you take video with it and then it tries to turn it into 3D. Doesn't work very well. Also, the resolution of the recording gets downgraded to 1080p at 30fps. So, the quality of the image is bleh and any kind of motion in the video makes you VERY VERY dizzy. Also, anything close to you makes you cross eyed which is painful at times. With that said, from what I can see, the most effective way to take video is to place it somewhere stationary and record. It's the typical VR problem; if the video is moving in a direction but you are not in real life, you'll get dizzy. And everything needs to be a certain distance from the camera, otherwise you'll get cross eyed. So, if taking real spatial video/audio is important to you, this will probably disappoint you.

Wow, so you can now have a similar experience in 2024 for $3500 USD like at least a decade ago with the Oculus Rift? I mean, it was like WOW. And 2 days later we didnt use it anymore because of lack of usefulness. Fast forward 10 headsets and years, for the Oculus Quest 2: very similar. Wow, then meh.... the demos just shown in this video are exacty the content i was expecting. Boring high res landscapes. I mean, why would anybody want this? I still dont get it. I was expecting something NEW from Apple. What I saw so far was nothing but boring and decade old ideas.

It’s an interesting conundrum. But, I think anyone who has been a VR adopter knows what’s up. My theory is because it’s Apple, the hype factor is much stronger. I think some would agree with me. The concepts are pretty much all the same, with the Meta Quest line being more flexible and having more options. ex. I can do probably all of the same productivity stuff with my Quest Pro that I can with the Vision Pro - with more options. I think the Apple has the better presentation i.e. better resolution for immersive experiences, better hand tracking, having eye tracking is a major, major game changer. And in terms of marketing, they take a more chill approach. But, you can chalk all of that up to the extra 4k+ price tag. The only “all-things-being-equal” advantage I would give to Apple is their design. It stays in brand with all their other devices so, it’s pretty intuitive. At the same time, a large part of that is subjective. I mostly blame Meta for not marketing correctly and not focusing on the productivity, everyday use of Meta vs. viritual worlds and gaming. But, they’re also not aiming for the same use cases. The Apple Vision isn’t a VR headset from what I understand. It’s an Apple accessory. But, we’ll see what happens over time. I am planning to do a more in-depth comparison. I am going to wear the Vision Pro all day tomorrow and then the next day, I am going to do the same with my Meta Quest Pro. And I will hopefully be able to put out a video on it. My theory is that most typical consumers will return their Vision Pro’s because of the price tag. But, I am curious to see if this reignites a second look at VR in general.

@@alwayscallingmeblaze But, what could be the applications? I mean, it‘s NOT a screen replacement. It‘s heavier than the Quest 3 and stresses your face much more than just a huge curved screen/s… Please do the described test, I‘m looking forward to what you say about it, will watch! ;) And then still, it‘s not just an open screen-replacement device, it‘s an Apple gadget as you already stated, with yes a nice presentation/design/ux etc. BUT it‘s extremely dependent on the Apple ecosystem which imho limits its capabilities if you are a more broad cross-brands and ecosystems kind of guy like me. So: you think with a second wave of devs arriving in the VR/AR space, we gonna have suddenly some really cool apps or use cases that justifies having this huge chunk of hardware strapped to your face all days long? I kinda doubt that. And if this is not the case we end up just where we had been for years now: plus a bit a better headset to choose from to do nothing really…

@@b3ndotch I still need to use it more and try stuff with it, so keep that in mind. But what I understand and hope its a “see your Apple stuff on a bigger screen” and “be connected with all your Apple stuff” use case. What I am HOPING that means is that it does what the MacBook Pro does but better i.e. your Apple Watch can unlock it, you open Safari from your phone onto the Mac so you can continue where you left off, any phone calls including FaceTime comes through and can be handled by the MacBook, etc. It’s very, very impressive and it would be pretty amazing in the Vision Pro. So far, I don’t think that’s how it works but I still need to try it out. It is heavier than the Quest Pro. I don’t think it’s much overall but it does feel heavy on your face after about 30 min (from what my testers said and I agree). It doesn’t do that once you use the dual loop strap but the dual loop is not as comfortable on the back of head as the mesh is. Ironically, I have a 3rd party vertical strap I use for my Quest Pro that I will probably use for the Vision (but not during the test, no device gets “extra help” during tests). Apple’s ecosystem has always been a pro/con situation for them. And I think here it is a bigger con than usual. Like, I wanted to do some work in it and was like, “let’s open up some Spotify” and yet…there is no Spotify for visionOS. I could probably open it with my MacBook but then I would just use my MacBook? I personally think until they get Netflix, KZbin, Spotify, etc., their use cases will stay low. I don’t think there will be huge pushes for VR stuff but I hope the general public’s view of its potential will change. And I hope it will change Meta’s trajectory with their Quest line. Although technically, they already have been focusing on the same use cases as Apple Vision, it just seems like no one knows about it.

@@alwayscallingmeblaze But what is the use case? A screen replacement to do the same stuff as on a screen?
@alwayscallingmeblaze
@alwayscallingmeblaze 4 ай бұрын
From what I understand, that’s pretty much it. The ecosystem thing where all your devices are “connected” is would add to that (again, not sure if it even works that way), but big picture: yeah, that’s pretty much it. Although, there is one caveat I forgot to mention and this does make a big difference in its use: the passthrough is good enough that I could look at my computer screen (the actual computer) and continue working. There is a certain distance (approx. 1-foot) where I can see my computer screen and text on it almost perfectly. So, I can look down at my keyboard use it without any issues (in theory). But then again, that’s a price tag thing.
Be gentle with the Apple Vision Pro - ITS PLASTIC!!
