I Wanna Be The Guy Remastered

This is the game that started it all, lovingly remastered to not crash every 2 minutes. Alongside bug fixes and QoL come bits of new content, with the biggest bit being unlockable characters: Boshy, Owata, Vic Viper, and Dotkid. And they aren't just cosmetic; each one changes up the gameplay in some way and makes for an interesting replay.
So after having played a million games inspired by it, does the OG still hold up? I honestly think so. It's not without its flaws; some of the platforming is pretty basic or intentionally annoying (shocking I know), and I don't think all the bosses are great, but the overall experience was still just fun and full of goofy charm. Kayin does it different. Also by today's fangame standards, the difficultly is very reasonable. If you've ever been interested in trying IWBTG, give it a shot, and this remaster is definitely the best way to play it.

He has saves that kill you, a Gastly pet that I'm honestly not even sure what it did in its' own game (let alone this one), and a whole bunch more mechanics that just complicate things to the umpteenth degree. I'm more intrested in Dotkid and Vic Viper, to be honest. Did you try them out? How do they faire against Owata and the Kid?

@AFDKLJKH Oh, so _that's_ what it does! I honestly thought it acted as a shield against enemy attacks or something, but a second gun works as well!

I actually meant playing through IWBTB (half joking maybe someday), but yeah here he has the same weird jump physics as in Boshy along with the other stuff you mentioned. Vic Viper is completely different from the rest, you can literally fly around using the arrow keys which trivializes a lot of rooms, but the tradeoff is that you die if you touch the walls or floor. Dotkid I'm not really sure what's different aside from your hitbox, and I know there are some hidden Easter Egg rooms you can only access with him

@@Kompyure Ooh, so Vic Viper is a risk/reward kind of thing where you can fly through the stages with ease but can't touch the walls, and Dotkid is essentially a hitbox shrink that can be used to find hidden stuff _(along with the usual techniques Dotkid brings with him, like fitting through far smaller gaps),_ eh? I really like that. Also, hey, later on down the line, maybe you _will_ play Boshy. It's difficult, even for IWBTG fangame standards, but the rewards you get for putting up with the game's bullshit are well worth the hassle.
