When we go before God he will not judge us on what religion we are, but will judge us on our deeds and actions and on how much we helped people etc. For there is only one creator of all of mankind, he is just called different names by different religions :)

Well I'm pure sikh i have never cutted my hair in addition to i will keep my sikhi with me ever ever forever lastly I would like to say that I become khalsa in 2010 now I'm 25. 🙏Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ke fateh 🙏 I'm only implemented whole of thing which is related with my sikhi Sikh is unique I'm proud to be a khalsa

no. they don't. we don't. every hair that grows on our body has some scientific importance. when God is perfect, his creation has to be perfect. He didn't give you hair on your palms, because He knew it would be difficult working with them growing there. So, just believe what all he has blessed you with is important to you, just like our parents will not give us anything thats going to harm us. We do not believe in Modification of Body in any way

For much of my life, I have never felt attracted to men with a beard. However, in learning about Sikhism and with my alignment of their principles I began see men with a beard in a while new light. For the record, I am a white woman, but have recently found myself attracted to men with a beard - regardless of race, color, ethnicity or religion. There is something infinitely attractive about a man who is his true self and comfortable in his own skin - beard, turban and all. You be you. Sat sri akal.

+Esoteric Knowledge Think about what you are saying. Your Quote: "We will never conform to society's expectation." But what if, it is a Predominant Sikh society such as Yogi Bhajan's ashram. In that society, you would be expected to keep 5 kakkars and the whole nine yards. Will you still not conform to society's standards? Will you then, cut your hair in rebellion because Society expects you to keep it?

bdjlo2008 your assumption is intrinsically incorrect to the Sikh perspective, we're not conforming just to go against society - we're following the hukum of our Guru. And yogi bhajan did not create anything to me, my faith is with the Khalsa not 3HOs. my Guru said keep the kes so I shall. You don't know the value of hair - so you will follow everybody else in society and cut your hair. Each hair vibrates with naam during simran. i know people who have to put vaseline/oil in their hair because they literally fry their hair during simran. This hair is a gift - it's like someone you love the most gave you a suit or clothing - would you ever cut it and say i don't like this part? No, i don't think so. So I'm not going to do the same - even if everybody else in the world does. The importance of hair is seen throughout many religious cultures, be it Rastafarians, Native Americans, Hindu Yogis, Sufis etc.

Great points. I think growing the hair is a great lesson in life. It shows the children that they should be confident in who they are regardless of how they look, to not be pressured by society, and not to judge others who look differently. However where parents go wrong is when they don't realize that kids (not in India) are facing lots of pressure/bullying because they look different and so kids would question why they keep it and be depressed, so its the parents duty to educate them

@Themachinistzz Bro, thats hygiene, it is like we comb our hair. the dead hair winds around the comb, and you can see it after combing. Nails are only modifications of the upper dead layers of the skin, they are dead. if you grow your nails you will see that they will broke easily so we cut them because it is not useful for our daily routiine

because the part of nail we cut is dead part and same is the case with hair u must have noticed when we comb our hair some hairs fall apart and gets stick and roll with the comb and all that hair are dead hair because that is not connected to our skin

I was born in Punjab and living in USA and i grew up in SIkh family, I have strong faith in Sikh religion. And living in USA and India i have never met one complete Sikh woman (Even my mom is a sikh and she is amritdhari). And sadly i have to admit in USA most of sikh men and women are sikh by name or in papers but meanwhile those who adopt our religion(Sikhism) e.g white and blacks they are even more devoted to our religion & they do look and live the way SIKH should live.
