I am born as sikh in punjab and my hair are cut. But I fully agree with the last line of your comment. We appeal you all non-punjabi sikhs to guide us also. Come to Punjab and educate us, guide us, inspire us.

I am an elderly Catholic here in the U.S. I also practice Kundalini Yoga and studied with Yogi Bhajan. I have often considered becoming Sikh - I stay in church to have a voice there. Heard all this criticism of Yogi Bhajan many times. Why? Yoga is a wonderful thing and benefits everyone. Sikhism teaches us all to love each other, and warriors is actually Spiritual Warriors, which Sikhs are. The Yoga is timeless and universally helpful.

Hello Ilona, I love Sikhism and I want to live it as much as I can. However, when I visited a Gurdwara I felt a bit like an alien as the probably only one person who is not from Punjab. In addition, I am planning to get divorced, which is also probably not very accepted in Punjab society and it makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. On the other hand, a Gurdwara is a place open for everyone. I decided for myself to visit a Gurdwara to bow to Waheguru ji, the center without fear and without hatred.

God Bless You Kirin ! I have a lot of respect for what you are and what you do, but pardon me for bringing this issue. Guru is only one. In my opinion word “Guru” is very sacred it should not be used with common people’s name. The only person can be Guru who is “Ek Onkar, Sat Naam, Karta Purkh, Nir Bhau, Nir Vair, Akaal Moorat, Ajooni Saibhang, Gur Parsaad” . When you reach at this stage you are no longer human you are GURU. Then you can be called GURU. Appreciate what you doing , keep it up.

just my 2 cents on this, when becoming sikh (sehajdhari) no. but when getting baptized: from sgpc published rehat maryada - > Thereafter, the Sikh sitting in attendance of the Guru Granth Sahib should take the Hukam. If anyone from amongst those who have received the ambrosial baptism had not earlier been named in accordance with the Sikh Naming Ceremony, he should renounce his previous name and be given a new name beginning with first letter of the Hukam now taken.

I khow why, my beloved gd friend, BECAUSE THE GURU JUST GOT YOUR HEART!! and result= you could not escape, your soul just ran towards Him, just like mine : ) and of course Yogi Bhajan is the guilty one cause he brought us to Guru`s feet so our egos calm down and serve God as well, cause this kundalini yoga can make huge egos!

i dont know from where the concept of yoga came in shikhi..and why the sikhs in western sikhs are have this missconception of yoga..there is no where yoga in sikhism..there is gatka the sikh martial art.and the simran

You are not Divorcing God! Guru wants you to be Happy, we all make mistakes, so best to correct the mistake and move on with your life and grow Spiritually. True Sikhs can not be Judgmental about you Divorcing, they must be supportive of you! Belive me, Divorce can happen to any persons. Enjoy Kirtan, Gurus Light, be comfortable, hang out with non-Punjabi Sikhs if possible 1st! Offten people like us are more Genuine in Sikhi then people born into it from Punjab.

i dont like it when you guys do hindu poojas and hindu ceromonies.. but yoga?! and saying wahegru at the same time when the guru granth sahib is not even their. Treating Simran like its concert? what kind of sikhi is that!? what sikh does kirtan whit hout a guru granth sahib!?
