Her poor neighbor apparently only understood a little of what she was saying. Which she should be grateful for because she was going on these delusional tangents about the cartel and how important she is. Plotting her next “target” then switched to how Christmas is so hard with family and cooking. She proceeded like that the entire trip. I only caught bits and pieces while my mother sat in absolute horror. She kept asking me to start recording every so often. Also I don't know how it works in your part of the world but here you don't pay more for a window seat and it doesn't give you special "privilege" to be an AH to the other travelers. We are all in the situation together, and of course as the person closest to the window, the window person has control of the blind but they are a complete AH if they refuse to close it when a low sun is blinding fellow passengers, and I've seen flight attendants agree and insist.

@@sakatababa Lunashadow is right. It took hounds upon hundreds of people to tell the wife that, what she did, was wrong and she still only started to take active measures (i.e. cutting her "friend" out) after said "friend" started to, even more blatantly, try and sabotaged their relationship. There is: "my friend told me you like nudes from a friend of mine, what is that all about" and then there is: "my friend told me multiple times that there was something wrong and, whilst we haven't found anything weird on your part, I am still partially blaming you and continue to listen to my friend!" It's nice that the "friend" is out of the picture now, but the "friend" isn't the problem, she was only the symptom exacerbating the problem. No, the real problem here was wife's lack of understanding of what is and isn't acceptable private info to share (the fetish), without the consent of the person that you shared said info about (OP did not consent to that info being shared), and the fact that she repeatedly choose the "friend" over OP. Yes, even at the end where she continued to defend the "friend" ("She probably wanted to send that photo to me") and continued to stay in contact with the same person that repeatedly tried to ruin her marriage (until she couldn't anymore because the "friend" got to obvious with her attempts). They need to find a way to effectively communicate (something like: "my friend said this but before I jump to any conclusions I would like to hear what you have to say about it") and boundaries ("what is acceptable to share without consent of you and what isn't") if they don't figure that out I see this marriage drive into the nearest wall ths next time a "friend" of wife comes along!

S1: I saw this before Kate is a shit-stirrer whomOP1 and wife are better off without. S2: The second or third time I might have said "Knock it off, lady or I'm calling the flight attendant over."

I have some anti-plane drama. When I was 12 I was flying with my mom and siblings to visit family in another state. I had a middle seat and when I got there was a boy sitting in it. The girl in the window seat said "We're siblings and thought you wouldn't want to sit between us." I said "thank you" sat down and read for the 4 hour flight, only moving my legs up onto my seat twice when they each got up to use the toilet.

I remember a time in middle school. My bully got off a few stops before me. I had the back of my hand on the window, and I bent the middle finger (so it was the only one NOT extended) a couple times as we pulled away. Nobody deserves to be bullied, but I will own that if I was going to be bullied, I was going to earn whatever came my way. I liked to think they resorted to physical attacks because they couldn’t compete verbally.

The only legitimate beef I think you can have over plane windows is over those that don't line up with the seats (so where two people in window seats are adjacent). Otherwise, it's very clear who is in control of the shade, IMO. Although of course you can ask politely, especially for night flights.
@tfrtrouble7 ай бұрын
I mean it is clear who ultimately has control of the shade; the airline crew. Under normal circumstances, anyone with a request should politely ask the window person and they can refuse but should try to be considerate if it is a genuine need (e.g. person has a migraine). However, there are times when they flight crew will overrule everyone, e.g. shades open for takeoff and landing, and I've also seen flight attendants insist on it being closed when the sun was shining directly in people's eyes and some AH thought the whole row should suffer for him to have a nice view. I'm a nervous flyer and hate closed shades, but even I can tell there are times when it's the right thing to do.

Story 1: Kate is the veru definition of a homewrecker! She doesn't have a SO, so she tries to ruin her best friend's relationship. Interesting how everyone else in the friend group immediately jumped at the chance to unfriend Kate. Why didn't one of them do so before?
@AndyyWithAY7 ай бұрын
Flashing the light in her eyes is wrong as 2 left shoes. People have migraines and other neurological issues that are exacerbated by light. As someone with migraines I have to call that out as AH behavior. But, still have to go NTA because the other person was more egregious

“Sorted him out” is a fabulous euphemism OMFG! 😭😭😭😭 The wife was annoying me, but Idk the mental issues at play, so I tried not to get too annoyed. She redeemed herself with this line tho. 😂🤣

Story 1- his wifes best friend? A liar who is actively trying to destroy your relationship! Oh boy she really has to give her head a shake. She should back up her husband + dump her as a friend. Typing this as I listen + heard she was dumped by all her friends. Good, but she should of done it way before.

S1) Kate sounds like a drama llama. Someone who likes stirring up trouble cause they get some weird high off of. Your wife had no business sharing anything concerning your intimate relationship without consent. You're wife is the worse. It also sounds like she likes leading people on to see what she can get out of them and if she can ruin someone's life she'd do it. Seeing as she both knows OP and the wife she's found a what she considers an easy target. OP's wife must be just so gullable. Odds are Kate may have been obsessed with the fact that OP wasn't easy to sway/ interested in her and wasn't happy about it so decided to start drama. She was upset she couldn't boundary stomp. Makes me wonder just how much bs she loved talking that wasn't true.

I think the wife really wanted this to be a misunderstanding due to her friendship. When she realized it wasn't a misunderstanding, she went nuclear. Her response to the photo was epic.

Story 1 - Respect. This is central to what a man needs to feel from his wife. I do not think your wife knows this or does not care. OP's wife has crossed boundaries and could care less how much he is disrespected by her friend and HERSELF. OP needs to nip this in the bud NOW!!

I've only had "Plane Drama" once in so far as I heard the frightening "Is there a doctor on this flight!?" when a passenger passed out or something. Flight attendants were rushing up and down the aisle and a doctor indeed got out of his seat and came back. Normally for me, my interactions, if there are any, are pleasant. Despite being an introvert, and artist, I've discovered that drawing in my sketchbook on a plane makes for a nice invitation to converse. I showed a guy next to me how I was drawing a character I named "Oliviae the Brave" and for a minute he was like "I think I remember that character" before I clarified she's my own invention. Suddenly he turned to his friend across the aisle and says "Hey! She works for Marvel!" I'm like "I do?"

Your final comments on Story 2--I honestly think people doing that is a mix of rage bait and them thinking no one will actually do anything.

OP is his own worst enemy. That conversation he and Kate had was highly inappropriate given who he was talking to. He needs to learn about `self-defense` - in terms of suitable words around certain people!

The plane story: ok, this made me giggle. When my husband and I were doing the wedding planning, I booked a time to taste cakes. It was pretty early in the morning. He bounced all of the way to the bakery, doing a little jingle, which went: we're having cake for breakfast! On repeat. I just giggled the entire drive. The morning we flew to cancun for our honeymoon, he switched to singing: we're going to Mexico! I have a picture of him grinning from ear to ear from happiness and excitement. He let me have the window seat and we both looked out to see the new place we were going to explore.

After the 3rd time of telling a 20 something girl to stop draping her hair over the back seat, politely I might add, and she kept doing it I took it as her doing it intentionally. Looking back I feel a bit embarrassed over my actions but I'll just say my nose had alot fewer boogers than her hair did after the flight. I considered putting gum in her hair but knew that was a bit too far

I would've gotten The Kate a pair of those pull-on/pull-over rubber boots (Totes?) that you slip over dress shoes when it's all snowy out and you don't want them to get ruined. Or forensic/hospital slip-on booties. "Issue" them to her as soon as she enters.

#1 - There are folks like us to love to listen when the tea is spilled. Then there are people like Kate who are not happy unless they are fomenting hate, discontent and big drama all around them while pretending to be innocent. Those are the snakes in our garden of petty drama - possibly ones that need either a mongoose or a garden spade. Glad she is out of OP's life - and for god's sake, OP, tell your wife to STOP sharing so damn much about your intimate life. Those kinds of details we don't need!
