I have the perfect title in mind already if you haven’t already thought of one. “Emotional roller coaster” Those words best describe the episode. It’s got really great action in the penultimate scene, some Chaggie cuteness, very hilarious quotes that always make me bust laughing… but then you’ve got the strongest parts of the episode from a writing standpoint i.e. the scene in Angel Dust’s dressing and him bursting into tears to Husk out in front of the bar.😭💔 God, I love that episode so much despite the fact it never gets an easier for me to watch.

"Addict" makes Angel's job seem glamorous while only showing glimpses of its harrowing reality. "Poison" doesn't even try to hide it.

I mean, there is a reason for that- Addict is more of Angel and Cherri trying to justify their own behavior. I wouldn’t say that the visuals romanticize what is happening at all, it merely shows two deeply flawed and hurt people trying to convince both themselves and the viewer that they’re “fine”- even though we can see that they aren’t. The events aren’t necessarily canon, it merely gives insight into their characters- and, according to Silva Hound, it was also more of a fan project than anything, it just happened to have been animated by the Spindlehorse team. Poison, on the other hand, goes deeper into Angel’s mind, you see more of the man behind the mask. he *knows* he isn’t ok- but, at least to him, there isn’t a way out besides his own self destruction. They’re both very different songs and serve different purposes.

​@@randomhuman_05plus while Addict shows a light-hearted fun side the flashback symbolizes how while Angel Dust outwardly views it as glamorous, the van scene and the flashbacks tell a different story, like how Angel Dust feels so broken due to the sexual/physical abuse he endured from Valentino.

@@darquidarqui Definitely the hardest part of that episode to watch is just before Poison. Sure the visuals there are also heartbreaking but I always cry during the scene in Angel’s dressing room. It’s to the point where after it ends I have to pause the episode and collect myself before continuing.💔😭

If you look closely on the wall as Angel and Cherri walk out of the club, you can see a neon sign saying "It was all a dream", implying Angel was only imagining all that 😔

This song really reflects angels pain and its actually great that you've watched it before watching the actual show so you could get a better understanding towards angel dust, even though its not fully canon anymore its still a good way to understand Angel's situation better. I also love your videos and how you analysed everything helping most of the viewers spot details that we haven't noticed

I follow a lot of reaction channels and i can confidently say that you are the best. You can really feel how much you care for the characters, not only by the way you react but also because of how much effort you put in your editing. Other reactors I normally just play in the background but for your videos I literally pause for any longer text you edit in as to not miss anything. This was always a heavy song and episode 4 is even harder, but you did a great breakdown of everything and I feel like you truly understood AngelDust and his pain well others missed this song's message. Just some super small details to point out since you got basically everything. 1:38 Some of the crowd members are actually OC's of the team and it's just a cool and nice thing they do for everyone by including them in the episodes. The 2 I remember are the black haired Imp girl and the woman with the Wolf mask both top right and maybe the woman on the left looking at her little mirror. 2:37 Honestly not a lot known about who that is in the puddle, he was in some ancient lore with Cherrybomb that I don't remember but that stuff is non-canon and has almost certainly changed. 7:16 I believe those 2 are just Sinners, you may know this by now already but just incase Imps are hellborn depicted by their gendered horns and hair color. Males have white hair with thick white stripes on their black horns well females have black hair with thin white stripes on their black horns, a Imp with hair color discrepancy from their horns are usually trans which is cool. 7:20 Do to the questionable canonicity of this song how AngelDust dies is up to debate but I wouldn't be surprised if Silva got it correct.

Angel Dust did die of an overdose. He overdosed on PCP, which is commonly referred to as angel dust.

@@Gaterman Okay. I think Viv has confirmed he died from a PCP overdose. That’s what his cause of death was on the Hazbin Hotel wiki. I find it to be a very reliable source of information.

@@cassandraspoelhof3752I know the Wiki has been unreliable in the past however Viv has confirmed a lot of things like that in the past so I don't find it unlikely. My main note is a lot of things have changed from the early era so it could have changed, plus I think the song is older than many of the streams were Viv confirmed things so the song was potentially just guessing or even gave Viv the idea to later say.

Despite the serious subject matter of Masquerade there’s plenty of hilarious jokes. There's actually a little secret: So Valentino the reason he always wants to kiss angel dust It's because Valentino has a special saliva much like a love potion Which you'll learn more about it in episode 4 so I won't talk about anymore The smoke also counts as a love potion So when someone Inhale the smoke They get dizzy and they feel like they're in love And feel like they need to protection So angel Dust just feels like he needs Valentino
