Love how Carmilla could not care less about what Alastor was up to in those seven years and how much that bothered Alastor. His ego is so fragile. “I’m sure you’ve all been wondering!” “Not really. But welcome back I guess.” Also love the detail that Velvette sees the look on Carmilla’s face while the other Overlords are agreeing with Zestial, realizes that Carmilla knows something, and then in order to get under Carmilla’s skin goes after Zestial, trying to prompt her to anger. It’s why that song comes seemingly out of nowhere, it’s Carmilla immediately coming to defend her friend Zestial from this little pest. It actually shows some level of intelligence and strategy on Velvette’s part though. Pretty sure she won that match against Carmilla.

Yeah Alastor's ego is very fragile, but he probably knows that about himself, that's why he learned how to mask it. I love how they make sure you can always see his real feelings in his eyes while he always smiles. And yeah, Velvette 100% won that exchange. Not only did she get information, but she also kicked the nest enough for someone else (Alastor in this case) to make the risky choices so she didn't have to. Even more so if you consider the consequences of her actions later on but that's spoiler.

Right!? I love that slight smirk when he reacted to her comment, and he was savioring that curiosity from Zestial in their earlier interaction! Love it so much. YESS thhat whole sequence is so rewarding on re-watch, so much attention to detail and the song's energy is so contagious that it adds to the intensity of the battle between Velvette and Carmilla. And I agree! She won that match, she got in her nerves quite good! Loved this ep

I’m so happy you can appreciate that the show isn’t trying to be a “who done it” with who killed the exorcists angel. (Not to mention, we only have 8 episodes so other aspects of the show need as much screen time as possible, especially if Viv wasn’t given the green light for season 2 until after season 1 finished production) Anyway can we just also appreciate Blake Roman voicing the Egg Bois? Carmilla really surprised me with how much I ended up loving her. With her design, personality, motivations, and just a bit of mystery; I never thought a character that we had a two second glimpse of in the pilot would just capture my focus so much. I really hope she has a bigger role in season 2.

Fun fact: Zestial is the oldest Overlord while Velvette is the youngest, making their disagreement kinda like an old vs new situation. Also him commenting about how mysterious Alastor is when he was basically there since his beginning shows just how skilled Alastor is at hiding his true intentions.

A fun and engaging reaction, happy to see more of this continuing to release and can't wait to hear more of your thoughts on this and then Helluva boss. 3:25 There are plenty of animals in hell but the deer on the table looks like a normal one so maybe it's from earth. 6:18 Additionally not just him but everyone in the Overlord meeting was in the pilot, the 2 daughters were collecting angelic spears and Rosie was there too both at the pilot's start. Zestial, Carmilla, and Missy Zilla / Zeezi were with Lucifer (why those 3 were with him is very interesting to me) but also Zestial appeared again during Charlie's news song well Zeezi appeared at a bar before the singing, and finally the skull man stood next to Alastor also watching Charlie on the TV. 7:21 Since Sinners are immortal he's likely from around the 16th or 17th century considering his speech pattern, the fact we don't see others that old shows that Sinners don't live very long dispite their immortality and the next oldest known is Sir Penchus who I think is from the 19th century. Also his voice actor is James Monroe Iglehart a Broadway actor and fun fact he was in the pilot for a side character where he speaks to Zeezi in the bar mocking Charlie. 9:30 Not much is known on Missy Zilla / Zeezi and the skull man (don't even know his name) other than that Zeezi has something to do with Kaiju and fighting, also her name is now Zeezi according to the subtitles as likely "Zilla" isn't legally available. 13:01 Something interesting to notice is that plenty of the background characters reappear in many episodes like the two here and some are even from the pilot, the cowboy for example was near Zestial earlier but was also near the pilot's start. 16:59 You're not the only person to guess that they are family by the fact they're similar looking and singing a duet. 25:05 Nifty was perfect lol, definitely my favorite moment for the trust fall.

Damn, I really have to re-watchj the pilot and pay more close attention to that! Definitely see how a lot of the original vision, at least in terms of worldbuilding, was always there from the beginning, love to see it. Good interpreation, thank you! Oh, that's him, that's so funny, would've never guessed haha I really love when animated shows do that, I've found that The Owl House for example does that about having background reappear very often and it's so fun to watch, great attention to detail once again. Nice haha! I was so caught off guard with the way it was directed, and btw, love how they sung together! Niffty is so much fun, so unpredictable and chaotic!

About your thoughts of possible connection between Vagge and Carmila. It would be really thrilling to get at some point more info. But even by their design similarities - eyes, skin tone, white/gray-ish hair. Even their reckless & raughness, will to fight, but not to attack - to protect someone who you love. Your reaction to Zestial was my reaction to Carmilla (and also Zestial, who am I kidding) XD best overlords 100%...for plot reasons, totally for plot reasons 😏 I find it absolutely hilarious that Husk calls Pentious 'kid' even though Pentious has at least 50 years or more on Husk Respectless made Velvette instantly one of my favorite characters, and it actually remained at the top of my favorite songs list (even after Masquerade's songs) until the penultimate episode. I also found it funny and also telling about their personalities how in RKtVS, Vox was talking to Vel as though he was so mature and composed, but was completely destroyed in Stayed Gone, whereas Vel, who has Vox insinuate that she can't handle things in both RKtVS and Scrambled Eggs, manages to not only perfectly keep her composure during Respectless, but also manipulate that song into occurring in the first place 🤩 she may be the youngest overlord and she's definitely ambitious and naive, but she's not dumb! Also, revealing the killer of the exorcist early on kind of ties in to the, for lack of a better word, rushing of the Hotel to handle the new extermination date. Exorcists and exterminations aren't special to Hell; exorcists have been coming down to do exterminations for thousands of years. Killing one would definitely be a feat, but unless it was killed by someone actively looking to continue doing so or do something with the information that they can be killed, it's not something that would need to be dragged out, would it? I've heard some people say the time between the meeting in Overture and the new extermination date should've been stretched into season 2 and I really don't get why. Like I said, they're not special, and even though we know Adam intends to kill all the sinners, the Hotel doesn't. This is just another extermination for them, just with a closer date, so they treat it as such. You probably could stretch these out, but the story works better if you don't, at least to me. Definitely wants to and should spend time on characters as much as possible. Carmilla being the killer of the exorcist is only a catalyst for part of overarching story, learning that she was behind it is mainly for developing her character (and for another character but I say who, I don't know how many episodes you've gotten through at this point)

Ooh boy. Next episode is the intense one. Also the best episode though. Amazing action in the penultimate scene, cute moments between Charlie and Vaggie sprinkled in, the comedy in that episode is just so hilarious, and then of course you have the most well written parts of the episode and they’re utterly devastating. That scene in Angel’s dressing room never gets easier to watch. I always cry during that part. Thankfully it’s followed up by my favorite song.

Bah, go wild! There's so much stuff that's tucked into the backgrounds, characters' body language, even the things they say and how they say them, in both Hazbin Hotel AND it's sister show Helluva Boss (even some stuff hinting at how the former's story would've been handled with more episodes 👀*). I don't think you CAN overanalyze it XD Charlie and Vaggie are also two characters with more subtle development and stories so it's important to pay attention ✨ *Specifically with this episode, just because you mentioned wanting to see a bit of Angel and the others fighting after Vaggie forced them down there, there's a good few hints that lead me to firmly believe that, if this episode were allowed to be split into an episode about the Overlord meeting and an episode about Charlie's trust lesson, something like that, we would've had, obviously, Charlie giving the task of leading the lesson to Vaggie, and then Vaggie trying to handle the lesson as Charlie would with activities like the trust fall, getting a bit dejected after each one fails in some way. Then, you'd have the guests suggest their own ideas for activities and Vaggie, feeling like she has nothing to lose, accepts, and you have scenes like Angel and the bondage club, also failing. Finally, Vaggie decides that she can't do this Charlie's way, or Angel's way, or anyone else's way. She has to do it Vaggie's way, leading to the scene in the show, but allowing for time to show some of the guests' fight, meaning something like one of them almost getting badly injured could prompt Charlie to suggest trying something else. Then, Vaggie's comments about being trusted with leading the lesson but everything going wrong, and feeling like she's not allowed to fail Charlie fit more smoothly into the episode, as well as Charlie's later statement about them working together as a team and her apologizing for putting pressure on Vaggie (since now, you have more than just the three failed activities and thus, more chances for Charlie to keep cheering on Vaggie and make her more concerned about needing to get results). Only thing I can't really place is Charlie telling Vaggie that the lesson isn't going well, and then offering to take over. It wouldn't happen right after the first activity, ofc, but I don't know if it would happen after the Charlie-esque ideas fail or after the hotel suggestions fail.

Like... Hear me out. I specifically explored this "Trust falling" thing whis specialist . And this is NOT the way you work with it!! Ppl came here to feel save, to be comforted and be ashured they ACTUALLY BE CAUGHT. No matter what crazy shit comes out of their mouth! Charlie here is responsible for whole thing, she HAD to chatch Niffty!!! 😠😤 I know, it's a comedy , but... Jesus this is takin' on my nerves. During your traction is went dow preety smooth, but, hell, it is not usual😂 Plus, this exercise is rather dangerous. In many ways, but the simple example: what if someone is ready to fall and more than one person is willing to actuslly catch? @cassandraspoelhof3752 it's not the majority though, Mosco (Wee Lass Reacts) for example plays it even safer than I do, and I've had trouble with copyright claims before uploading the reactions to the first two eps actually. With music I always prefer to do tweaks to it and adjust some things while trying to keep the best parts at the same time. Plus, copyright claims is actually, unfortunately, not the same game for everybody, so it's always much more inteligent to edit as carefully as possible.

@@darquidarqui Okay. I just know that the next reaction is going to be blurred out a lot too… for obvious reasons. God I love that song despite how heartbreaking it is especially when paired with the visuals. It was always my favorite song from season 1 and honestly the remix of it by TheLivingTombstone has made me love it even more. I just can’t bring myself to hate the remix because honestly the addition of some of the lines from Val just made the song go from sad but catchy to sad, terrifying, and catchy.

@cassandraspoelhof3752 wow I mean... why would I feature the entire song without any blurs or mutes? If you want that, you either watch the episode for yourself or sign up in Patreon and watch the full uncut version of the reaction, which is always an option. I really don't understand why you suddenly come here to complain about how I edit my reactions, specially since I give my all to feature every detail I can through my commentary first time watching and annotations while editing and all, I try to make it as complete of an experiences possible. I don't care if other channels had no problems with copyright claims, it doesn't matter because trust me, the copyright system is not fair and it's different for everyone. I have direct connections with reactors, some are even friends of mine, and believe me, copyright claims are not the same for everyone. I'm the content creator, don't ever come and try to lecture me, or any youtuber really, about how this works, it's incredibly disrespectful and quite ignorant frankly.

This episode was the worst one, but I don't think that's especially bad. Those songs would have hit us more if we had known more about Vaggie and Carmila, these feel disconnected right now, even if they are really good. Now we have that song about two characters we barely met and have no attachment to, and the other one is about two characters we know little about at this point I always say that this show is too short for its own good but not just bc I want more of it, one more ep would have made the structure better

I get where you're coming from but I disagree, I feel like them singing that together ties the themes of the ep very strongly and shows distinct types of love, partner and motherly, pouring their fear and passion for the people they love. If anything, I learn more from the character through the song precisely, which makes for solid storytelling.

@@nicolaspereyra420 yeah, would've possibly been better, but given the limitations of the season being only 8 episodes long, each just around 20min, I think they're using the time pretty well, so I can't really complain about how both characters got here

@@nicolaspereyra420 mmm Arcane has a very defined three act estructure, focusing on different stages of the character's lives and on top of that, they're all 40min long, so there's much more to explore and space to breathe. Would Hazbin be better and breathe more if it was longer? Sure, but I'm still legit impressed with how they're pulling off the story and character beats in each ep that's only 20min long, Hazbin Hotel is legit good storytelling imo
