I don't know what Nora did to someone, but all across the internet, I find Nora in stories. She can be funny, smart, pretty or plain. She's got a wide range of skills and adventures. She always gets fd up. Dead, mangled or maimed, when I hear she's in the story, I know who's going first.

My grandfather was a Captain, a sailor and WWII vet. He saw a lot in the Pacific theatre and his home was Michigan with his people living on Mackinac Island and down to Walled Lake. He was a captain and sailed the Great Lakes, Superior mostly, but also the others, and we're of Irish ancestry. He was easily the best story teller of my young life. A Good Story became my first love. I grew up learning about the "Wise/Old Folk", family histories, stories from the sea about giant waves, sea monsters and the unknown in the forms of lights above and below the waves and many other things. There were terrors and wonders and he made sure to tell us, these stories were not fiction. These are old tales meant to teach us how to live alongside the parts of the real world that no one wants to think about or in some cases, even accept that such things exist. You are a good storyteller! Captivating and you have really good timing!

Rescue cert is more of an awareness and “self-rescue” class than anything else. If you’re going to be in the water on dive gear, you need to know how to handle a SHTF situation because they WILL come up. It’s a very good thing that your dad has never had to rescue someone - it’s not something you should want to have happen, but at the same time, you need to know what to do if it does. 300+ dives Cave 1 cert, Mix 1 cert, OWSI cert

They teach you if you become disoriented, watch your bubbles, never ascend faster than your bubbles, and always watch your stay‐times/depth. One of my favorite movies to watch is The Cave. Meh... The point of a story is to convey a message not the truth... For example the story of Jesus Christ may or may not be anything like the real man, the point is it's teaching you a way in what to think which is similar to Jesus... Granite is the kind of rock that you basically need a glacier to erode it (I live in a country that has lots of granite close to surface, because ice ages sanded off all softer rocks), so that would likely be unchanged where there's not a lot of current (the currents in the story were explained with the thermocline disruption, which is entirely valid explanation, by the way), but I don't know how plain quartz does. Might be sharp because of fresh fractures caused by the earthquake?

@@Adam-kk7nw I think it might be real, because considering the location, beneath West Virginia is an entrace to what is apparently a pre-historic ocea, the 400 million year old Iapetus Ocean, it used to be where the Atlantic was? but you know, tectonic shifts, plates moving, sinking and rising, and the ocean itself was thrown under what is the Appalachian mountains today.....and there has been a BUNCH of cave networks detected below the crust, apparently there's a bunch of oceans down there, caverns miles wide not just tunnels but just..."pockets" the size of countries or continents, literal oceans is what I mean. Could anything be alive down there? I don't see why not.

What a nail biting story 😳😳😳🤦. The thought of being in deep dark water scares me especially in the ocean we have only discovered 5% of our ocean waters ( don't quote me on that percentage🙄). There are I'm sure hundred of thousands of critters maybe more 🤷we haven't even discovered and I'm sure there are creepy critters like he is describing in this story in the deepest part of our oceans and with the oceans warming in the deep it forces the ocean animals to relocate to better temps that they are more comfortable and that brings undiscovered critters closer.☝️😮. I believe for every disease in our world there is a cure somewhere in our oceans☝️. There's more than you realize in our deepest oceans not just ocean critters😳☝️. But anyway I enjoyed this story I was sad when his friend was caught by the alien critter. That surely is no way to die. And the feeling of running out of air not knowing which way to go and a critter chasing you not knowing which way it will be coming from and stoping from air in an air pocket the size of a cave hearing a hungry monster I think I would just die!!!!!!🙆🤦🤦🤦🤦🙇🙇🙇🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

@decoy8645 LH isn't the one writing the stories (most creepypasta narration channels aren't). He's doing the narration and he/his team are making the videos, and they're all doing great work. Picking apart the story isn't a reflection on this channel, it's a reflection on the original creepypasta author (and really not even them; criticism isn't hate).

I was a rescue diver, although we should have been called recovery divers. By the time we were call to the scene, it was long past rescue. However, because of the depths and times we spent underwater, we received a lot of training on dive times to reduce the possibility of decompression sickness, otherwise known as the bends. The reason this story sounds fishy (no pun intended) is the depth they believed they were at and the amount of time. No mention was made about having to enter a hyperbaric chamber, not when Nora was airlifted out, nor when the surviving diver was rescued. A diver surfacing under those conditions would have immediately been medivac to the nearest hyperbaric chamber. This would have thing on a diver’s mind, both then and later. No mention of this at any time. If you are going to tell a scary story with that much detail, at least be true to the facts. Larry from Texas

It's definitely not real, I have other deep sea diving stories that are creepy as hell. This seems just like a normal creepypasta. Creepypastas are creepy, but they're not as terrifying as the real deep sea diving horror stories. I remember hearing a story about a guy who was a Naval diver who worked on different rigs and oil rigs after his service. He told the story to his nephew who actually told the story, this happened to the uncle back in 2011 apparently, and he said what he saw he almost couldn't believe. He said he was down there periodically throughout the week, working on a specific section of the rig, away from the rest of the group, and he felt something bump his tank, he turned around, upon the 3rd hard bump, feeling something repeatedly bumping his back, seeing something resembling a giant Octopus with a large head and big long tentacles. But he said it was different somehow, it then began to shift forms and faster and faster it span, until it seemingly put him into a trance, where he couldn't move a muscle nor could he look away from this thing, weightless but also feeling like lead, and then he had these thoughts of his wife and kids at home, a young son and an 5 year old daughter, his beautiful wife and her job as a teacher, educating the future, him and his sometimes suffocating jobs. Then, seemingly as if it could read his mind or see the images of this diver's life. The thing stopped, it stopped changing colors and shapes, he was once more out of the trance, and he said it looked at him once more before shooting off into the ocean and disappeared. He began to get a nasty headache and soon after had to call it quits, he said he quit that job that same day and refused to go back into that spot. He didn't know any octopus that large, at that depth in the ocean where he was, and being able to put him into a trance? It was something that stuck with him. He also couldn't think of anything rational about the way the thoughts of his family and kids were in his mind, and seemingly somehow, this creature knew what he was thinking about and the images he was conjuring up were somehow being soaked up by this thing. Now I don't know if it's all true, or mostly fiction with some truth, but either way that's a terrifying feeling not being able to move on your own will, having something that looks familiar but is completely foreign, the Uncanny Valley theory comes to mind. Him being in a trance like that, and then all of a sudden the thing stops and then just goes away, it seems to be that there are things out there that we don't know could be real. Like the fact an unidentified Octopus that can shapeshift and change colors at will, just to put a prey into a trance-like state.

@@zaynes5094 I'm not sure what to say. I've been around long enough, and I've seen things in my military and civilian career to say, never say never, however, there are inconvertible facts that governed every scary story told. To be truly frightening, there must be an element of truth from which the Implausible springs. I'm not an expert on octopuses, so I did a bit of research. The maximum depth an octopus can dive depends on the species, but some species have been observed diving to depths of 500-1000 meters. The Dumbo octopus, for example, was found just shy of 7,000 meters down (4.3 miles). The common octopus can reach a depth of about 688 feet (210 meters). So for him to say Octopuses don't go that deep is a bit misleading. I'm not sure what gear the former Navy divers was using in the above story, but it is possible that he was working at a depth of 1000 feet or less, providing he was a SAT diver. It didn't sound like he was, but there was not enough detail in the story to say for sure. I will say this, SAT divers don't come and go from their dive. They spend, not hours, but days in a pressurized chamber to prevent decompression sickness. But thanks for the story. Larry from Texas
