Good times! The way you tell a story is very engaging. I've had a lot of really good port calls, but I believe the best one was the UK. We actually pulled into Portsmouth, England. Hung out in London for a few days, and then ended up taking a train to Liverpool. In London, we wound up partying at a youth hostel. we ran into some Australian guys that were hilarious. We made good friends and met some girls. Then we were walking these guys back to their hotel because they were pretty **** up. One of them all the sudden wanted to start to fight with me and my buddy. We talked him out of it. But I still remember that night. So much fun.. We jumped on a train for Liverpool and spent another night there, partying like rock stars. Had duty on the ship for 24 hours, and then. we jumped on a plane and went to Dublin, Ireland for a night. In Dublin, we actually ran into those same girls and partied some more. I love boat life.

You are neither first nor will be the last man to do this exact thing! It is interesting that you do some of the same things that I have done or in this case I know someone who has done it!

really enjoyed your story, thanks for sharing! i'll trade you one- i made some bad decisions one night in Brussels, back in 2004. i was just passing through, and i made a mistake in my train scheduling. i didn't have money for a hotel, so i just roamed and explored the city all night. i ended up climbing a building to the first story roof level, via some beautiful architectural details that were built hollow, like metal trellis/lattice. years later i came to learn it was the Cercle Royal Gaulois Artistique & Littéraire. i came to my senses looking into a second story window upon what appeared to me to be a white wig like a judge might wear, on a stand, at the end of an exquisite, long conference table. "what the hell am i doing up here? if they catch me here i'm going to jail." luckily i made it out of there, and had the coldest nap of my life on the floor of the train station.

I am really interested in your point of view on living in the US vs overseas in your off time. Is it something you're considering? I am due to cost. It's not about how much money you make, but how fast you spend it. There are two types of money: The money you work for and the money that works for you.
