I'm an expat who can read, write and speak Thai. I watched this guy on Paul's channel and noticed there was alot of inaccuracies in the things he said about the political situation in Thailand at that time. Having lived in Thailand for many years, I have found the reality of life here is far different from the sensationalist stories western journalists love to write. When I heard his story many red flags came up and I'm glad the truth has come out. Con artists are charismatic, intelligent, have good memories, and know how to manipulate people's hopes and fears. But Mark thinks that simply because he wouldn't have given the guy a hard time about it, that means that admitting to the conviction on youtube shouldn't be a problem..... uh, I don't think so. That's just a surface analysis. Always try to understand people deeper. I want to know about the first 20 years of his life. People are allowed to suffer alone as long as they don't disturb others. They often don"t get the social attention they need until they break the rules. We all have a need to belong and be appreciated. Paul is a smart enough and compassionate enough guy that he has been, and can still have a valuable role in society. When people have been suffering greatly he has been there to pitch in and help. Thanks for sharing this. Health care executives like this contributes to the high health care costs in the US. Character matters and if he was upfront that he did all these bad things and wanted to start fresh I guess more people would give him another chance but sounds like he hasn’t changed which is too bad. I did like his channel too though.

To be fair, if he posted that he was a convicted felon at the beginning, people would probably just ignore him. Why would you want to listen to a convicted felon? But now that he has posted hundreds of quality videos, it's clear that there is some value to be had. But it's also important to be aware, and so less vulnerable to the possibility of future scams.

Not yr fault Mark. I sold real estate in Aust. for 14 years and I had a guy contact me - an architect who designed a holiday house for Arnie Schwarzenegger in Swiss alps. Thanks for putting this info out. I did run into this guy both on Paul's channel and on the Filipina Pea. On the Pea he was putting out info on the VA here as if he was an expert. This guy was all over you tube. I didn't trust his story when I heard him. I'm glad the truth has come out.

Paul is an excellent con artist. He is a good actor and displays confidence and intelligence. Paul is a good performer and probably has a good memory. He fooled me and I am not easily deceived. It's too bad he couldn't put his skill set to use to making an honest living. Paul is not sorry for what he did.

Thanks for information. Glad u took the time and effort to make others aware of such individuals in the Philippines. Paul Cardwell (world zoom) of Indiana is definitely tne type of guy we should all avoid in the Philippines or anywhere. A true con artist. Be careful out there. I'm surprised he is allowed a visa by Philippines government. Everyone deserves a second chance if they admit fault and are honest moving forward. But this guy is still telling lots of bs stories on his and other channels.

@@leebomccool8997 why would u defend this guy going on other people's channels and telling tale tales? Hope u are never in a vulnerable position in life whether it be health or age and run into a guy like this, because this is the type of guy that will fleece you or a friend in a vulnerable situation without losing a minute of sleep. Clearly he has learned nothing from his prison sentence and I'm just voicing my opinion that countries should not allow unreformed con artists into their country. I would hope better representatives of the USA go live in other countries. I say anything about his visa except I was surprised the Philippines allows him in.. why u so sensitive? Hi Mark, Yea i watched your interview of Paul and he really knows how to bolster his story all to make himself look good. Right. I think he should start off with "hi, I'm a convicted felon". Come on man. Give the guy a break.
@tryscience Жыл бұрын
@@milescali I agree, if you have a wolf in sheep's clothing carrying a sign, "hi, I'm really a wolf", people aren't going to treat it like a sheep. Point being, with awareness of the past, not only are people more resistant to being scammed, But Paul is given a chance to live a more honorable life. The price he will pay moving forward is that people may take what he says with a (healthy) grain of salt.
@milescali Жыл бұрын
@@tryscience good point, but what did he lie about? Just omitted parts of his past. If he lied about things then yes we can be upset. As for his channel, it's entertainment and simple advice in the Philippines. I guarantee every KZbinr has a past they will not want to talk about. Point being, sharing your felonies to live a more honorable life is a silly argument. I come to KZbin for entertainment. I've never invested more than my time watching videos. I believe Paul has never asked for a dime from any of his viewers. Therefore, Paul has no expectations to share his past issues with the law unless he wants to. Paul never said his past was perfect. He just omitted the ugly part. I'm okay with that.
@tryscience Жыл бұрын
@@milescali It's for Paul to say what he lied about, if he lied. I'll give some minor points as an example. Was he jailed in Thailand because of speaking out against the military junta to a reporter as he claims, or was he arrested because he was recognized as a fugitive on the run from the crimes in the States? When jailed did he have the notorious merchant of death as a cellmate or was it a lie to make an interesting story? Others have questions if he served as CEO in different countries. And whether he was a military officer although he has clearly stated he was never a seal. I've encouraged Paul to reach out to Mark to follow up because it is not cool to ghost Mark as Mark does not deserve this. If Paul follows up with Mark he should bring proof of his service and his degrees and admit what parts of his story are lies that have not yet been admitted to. It's a painful process. But now that the controversy is in the forefront, it is really the one and only time to address it.

Wow wow wow Mark… I would’ve never had guessed this. I am a follower of his. I hope you’ve done your homework and are completely accurate on this. If so good for you Mark takes a honest brave person like yourself to call him out. Some fraudsters we can spot a mile away… Otherwise be very careful. Maybe after this video he will realize… And self reflect… Asking the question,Am I the same person as I was or do I deserve a second chance that I was after in the Philippines. If the latter is the case then Paul needs to man up… Set the record straight. Must’ve been very difficult decision for you Mark, but I feel you’ve done the right thing. Yes your channel is interesting and entertaining… And every man does have a story, and as you interview you can only hope that their stories are accurate and not full of embellishment...or lies.I respect you a ton more!!
