You nailed the TODAY show piece!! Love the behind the scenes of filming. You really are awesome to your students to wish them happy birthday in a video message (it will mean so much not only to the student but the parents as well). Love how you approach novels in ELA (so smart). I’m in the same boat with working out (forced to suspend race training), but use your home as a gym for the rainy days (steps for plyometrics, coffee table for crunches, etc.) I actually use an exercise ball with resistance bands (best Xmas gift ever), it gives you different exercises you can do (Called So Alpha)!!

I love your videos! You seem to have a balanced life where you don't allow teaching to overtake your life. I single parent 3 kiddos and teach. NOT EASY but you make it look doable and easy. Your tips are so helpful. It is also a plus that you are from my home state MARYLAND! Love it!

Can I just say, WOW! I am new to the teaching field and I absolutely amazed at your organization and discipline, not to mention the hundreds of things you juggle. You are great inspiration and I look forward to learning and getting inspired from your videos and VLOGS.

Buying your own copy of each Guided Reading book is a great idea! Also, writing questions in the margins and highlighting using different color highlighters for different purposes is brilliant!! That definitely saves time for the next school year. Thanks for the tips!!

You did great! Parents need to give themselves a break. Education boards need to give parents and teachers and kids a break. These are not normal times. Kids are gonna be ok if they don't get all their assigned stuff done. It's gonna be ok.

I actually live in Crofton and the moms in my local FB group were all raving about your Today show appearance! You did so great - super poised and very thoughtful and insightful with your answers! My kids go to Nantucket, but if they were at CES I would totally love for them to have you as their teacher. I bet your students are super proud of you and missing you every day during this quarantine. Stay healthy, keep up with the great work, and thank you for all you do!

Wow, good job. Teaching can be hard thing. I thought my days were crazy during 1st week of quarantine. I spent 5-6 hours on the phone to o e homebound students trying to help with homework and skill. Organization is the key... I have to prepare myself this week for interactive and online communication. I am excited. Thanks for all the tips.

Thanks for the look into your busy day, and congrats! Bummer on the gym closures, but finding a way to push your body (strength, flexibility and endurance) will help you on long days like this day. I too am frustrated that my gym is closed, but it will reopen one day. Until then, it is basketball and soccer drills in the back yard (still sore from yesterday). Don't forget to include tips like this for your students and their parents, as kids need structured p.e. and unstructured recess every day at their homes.

That was an amazing interview. You are so confident when you speak!! I'm currently going for my BA in Elementary Ed. and also a fellow Marylander. I refer to your vlog constantly for information but especially motivation. Thanks so much for all you do Michele!

Nice job with your today show interview! Nice park workout! Glad your parks are still open! They closed all the ones in my city here in Michigan! Hopefully it doesn't come to that in Maryland. Seeing you highlight and really get into novels like that really shows your smarts. That sounds really weird but totally mean it in a good way. It's nice to see vlogs of teachers working with this new set up. I work at a school in the before and after school care so obviously I'm unemployed right now but I am constantly thinking about my teacher friends because I know this change is hard for them.

You did a fabulous job with that Today Show interview! I’m loving your current content but still missing your classroom vlogs. I was so excited when you announced that you’d be teaching ELA this year because I’ve gotten so many great math ideas from you in the past! Any chance we could get a video with some ELA content! I loved seeing how you use the two color highlighters in your “teacher copy” books and I’d just love to hear more about what ELA looks like in your class! Books you love, ways to make ELA more engaging, resources you love (TPT and otherwise), tips and tricks, etc! Thanks for working so hard for your viewers!

Thank you for this video. It's been hard on everyone because this throws everyone out of their comfort zone. The main thing I have been doing is trying to remain positive towards my students and parents. Being out of school has allowed me to communicate with them more than I have been able to before. Some parents I'm hearing from for the first time since the beginning of the year. Please continue posting technology hacks that you're using or you're aware of. I love sharing your videos with other colleagues. Take care of yourself and your family.
