Babe, you are valid in all your feelings, and always have been. You were a child. She g roomed you. Very much so. She should actually probably be in jail over all the things added together, not just with you either. You were a baby. Look at those pictures. Did you even have adult teeth yet?! you don’t owe anyone anything. You made decisions because a full grown adult was telling you what to do. There aren’t many situations in this world that will ever be like yours.. no one gets to have a negative say on anything you are feeling. You are valid. You were groomed, you were used, you were manipulated. Looking at the meet&greet pictures of you and Colleen breaks my heart, that is a literal baby. There is no way she looked baby you in the eyes and never knew that it wasn't right what she was doing. I relate to this video so much, not because I was ever in contact with Colleen, but because I was groomed and abused as a child. The way you felt idolizing her ( 13:44 ), that was purposeful on her part. A groomer will make you feel important and that they are choosing to talk to you because you are something special to them. They will make you believe that it is an honor to be talking to them, you will feel cool and special because they _chose_ you, they _chose_ to talk to you. They will make their attention feel like a reward so you will seek it out. None of this was your fault. She knew that she held power over you and used it to her advantage all the time. Everything "inappropriate" you did, she could've shot down right when it happened. She didn't because she approved of those things and wanted to encourage that behaviour. She knew better and did nothing because she wanted that kind of attention from children. Everything "wrong" you did in this situation she approved of and encouraged until it was time to use it against you. I'm glad that your pain is finally being recognised and you are getting the support you should've gotten from the community 3 years ago. You did nothing wrong, you were a child and a victim and Colleen was a fucking creep.

I am thirty and used to babysit kids with the same age difference as Adam and Colleen. Now that they’re old enough to have social media, our conversations are like “hey you were a great babysitter” “hey you were a great kid” then we go back to our own lives cause they’re in high school and I’m married and we shouldn’t really have anything in common to talk about.
@kadebebesis4204 Жыл бұрын
I agree. I’m 23 and every once in awhile I’ll see a post from the old kids I used to babysit when I was a teen. I don’t ask anything weird or comment period. If anything in my head it’s like “congrats on graduating!” Or “that Taylor swift concert looked fun!” “Good luck!” But I don’t actively comment or message them. That would be weird in my opinion.
@sarahberkner3 ай бұрын
I kind of agree, but high schoolers can have jobs and in my opinion (and in the opinion of my high school self) should start learning how to adult. Even though some people think they should goof off until they're out of college and don't know how to get a job and are in major debt. But yeah, if I had babysat someone I wouldn't assume they'd want to hear from me whether or not we had things in common.

There’s always been something deeply unnerving to me about Colleen and her Miranda Sings character, and as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized what it was. No one makes a character like Miranda unless they want to express their own problematic beliefs with the fallback of “oh the character is satirical - they’re supposed to be outrageous and problematic!” I’m so sorry you had to go through years of her emotionally manipulating and grooming you, Adam. I’m so proud of you for not letting her and her fans intimidate/silence you and for bringing attention to who Colleen really is.

When anyone makes a "blanket statement" like you did :: "no one makes a character.", I alert. Of course there are entertainers, people who have characters they play as entertainment. Pee Wee, Capt. Kangaroo, Ronald McDonald, etc. There is no ulterior motive to it, just entertaining. You actually say ALL character portrayals are bogus, have negative goals, etc. THINKING like that shows a lack of logic. Perhaps u have emotional issues of your own that has come to this belief. If so, I'm sorry and wish you well. Miranda is fine. Colleen is fine and not grooming or likewise. You subscribed to "miranda sings"too.
@bellascerpe933 Жыл бұрын
@@KindCountsDeb3773 I didn’t say “no one makes a character” as in a blanket statement about ALL characters ever created. Of course that would be ridiculous. My statement was specifically about people who create characters that are intentionally problematic. In my experience, people who create *those kinds* of characters and whose humor lies in things that are problematic/inappropriate have very problematic beliefs themselves. If a person doesn’t have those beliefs, there should be nothing they find funny within those topics. I don’t see what’s funny about being in a group chat with minors asking questions about virginity, sex positions, etc. or the running bit she has in her stage show where she has a kid come on stage to act out a “date” with Miranda ending with their hand in her pants. I frankly find it disturbing that a woman in her 30s finds that acceptable given how young her audience is. If I still have my subscription to Miranda from when I was eleven and didn’t know how to identify what it was making me feel uncomfortable, then that’s my mistake. There are probably a bunch of creators I stopped watching years ago that I just forgot to unsubscribe to. Overall, I find that a very weak argument to try and invalidate my opinion on her/this situation. I would also caution you against speculating around “emotional issues” a person might have as the way in which you do that is very stigmatizing, nor does it help your point. Having “emotional issues” from past experiences in this topic doesn’t invalidate a person’s opinion. If anything, it provides an insight into how much a situation/topic can affect a person.

In my opinion, Colleen is worse than Shane. She pimps out her own kids and nieces and nephews to the internet knowing that predators watch her and her brothers content. They admitted it years ago. Colleen is a danger to her children and the other children around her. She will have to pay for this someday when her kids ask her how she could justify trading their privacy and safety for money. I hope laws change so these parents are held accountable for “sharenting”.

ALL OF THIS 💯! Her and her family's family channels are exploiting their kids. It's gross.

Adam, I don't always like your takes on things. But I wanted to say that you are (obviously) so completely right in this situation and it's amazing that you've stayed strong throughout all these grown ass adults trying to convince you that you were wrong and "lying" and "manipulating" and all these things. What Colleen did to you was disgusting. I got majorly teary-eyed at the part where you showed the photos of you and Colleen from back then. You were SO SMALL, you were SUCH A CHILD 😭 and she was a FULLY GROWN WOMAN. so so so so SO DISGUSTING that she seriously tried to frame it as if she got maliciously manipulated by a little boy. Truly sickening. I am so glad further details are coming to light now, finally.

The heartbreak of betrayal by a friend is devastating enough but this working for free exploitation of a CHILD is the most nauseating part for me. Absolutely disgusting.

Having other people do your dirty work like this is a narcissitic play referred to as Flying Monkeys. She never passed the vibe check for me, your video 3 yrs ago felt like a validation of that avoidance of everything about her. Now that all the details are being spilled, my heart goes out to you and the other minors she abused, used, and violated. Lord help her kids.

This is why fandoms are dangerous. I hate how he lost literally all his friends over a KZbin. When he talked about his friend stopped talking to him broke my heart

Yeah especially fandoms surrounded around one specific person. Like, a fandom around a book is toxic enough, but a fandom around a personal brand? Yikes.

and James Charles is a predator too so of course he was defending her.. They both have zero boundaries with minors.

When I was in the fandom I commented on a video about how I had taught another fan how to use a tampon (I literally just *talked* her through it) and Colleen replied that she "pictured us using our own lady bits". We were 14. Edit: I have a screenshot btw.

What I learned about Colleen's employee/housemate, Kory DeSoto : Invites underage teens to his dressing room at events, makes fun of 15 year-olds in group chats, and shares P-oRN with underage TEENS in group chats. This is illegal activity and I hope he is held accountable.
