VoicePlay takes songs that shouldn't work as a cappella and then just kills them. Every single one of them was fantastic, but I have to give extra credit to Layne for really pushing the vocal percussion envelope lately. Geoff drove the iconic background beat, Cesar brought all the sass, and the give and take between Eli and Anthony was perfect. I also think credit should be given to VP's hidden member, Ed Boyer. His mixing skills are genius.

As informative and gratifying as your vocal analysis is, your improvement at beatboxing is what I look forward to the most. For arranging, if the beatboxing is outrageous then Geoff arranged it. If the bass is insane then Layne did. Generally speaking of course

Congratulations on your upcoming release!! **throwing confetti** The extra fun thing about this is that it's the third post-apocalyptic video (Warriors and Dream On are the others). In the first two, they said the zombie hordes just out of camera range while the guys sang to save themselves. Between the first two videos, both Earl and J. None were lost to the zombies, and they picked up Cesar and Omar along the way. However, by this time, they've become the bad guys, so we're not 100% sure what happened to Omar... 😜 Side note: If you are one of Geoff's patrons of a certain level, he occasionally does session breakdowns, showing all the tracks (many times well over 100 of them) and how they're put together when he's arranging a song.

@@JenniferGlatzhofer: absolutely love your attempted Geoff low notes and Lyane Stein ingressive phonation ( this one in particular that you sound exactly like him, woohoo. Next one to attempted is Geoff for his low of the lowest notes. Take a lot of practice because of bass register like subharmonic chest, growl ( some chest fry) that means to widen your lower side of your vocal range ( I want you to hit in the 0th octave, definitely believe in you.

I absolutely loved this reaction and analysis, Jen. You pointed out things that, despite me listening to this so many time, I hadn't taken notice of yet. I keep saying this arrangement is so nuanced. I feel like I hear something new every time. Layne definitely stole the show for me musically in this one. From that breathy, inhaled beat to the water droplet, he was just on another level here. Well, I did it now. I broke my headphones. These reactions are getting too exciting and fun. You are getting very good at hitting those low notes, I am impressed. the headphones btw were cheap and giving to me free. I will either glue them back together or get a better-quality headphone. I might be as excited as you are about your single! What it Do Dave said Layne was becoming a velociraptor. That’s going to stick, at least in my head. LOL. Wild and deadly. Cesar-I’m afraid I’m never going to remember to go with their preferred pronouns. I’m impressed that it comes so easily for you. I’m old. Hope they can forgive me. Anyway, I’m glad you noted the differences. They could have gone with the same character as in Valhalla Calling-warrior mode, but they made the choice to go with something totally different. Nice! I think that layered buzzy bass line is Layne, I think. We’ve heard him do something similar. Right-when the lyrics contain the words “hounds of hell,” you just know Geoff is going to take it to the cellar. Eli at the end-tell me you aren’t convinced he can take on whatever or whoever gets in his way. That fierce look! Wow. And his singing! Dang! Anthony has such a beautiful timbre and the cleanest runs. He’s amazing. Speaking of amazing, I always love your reactions! I wait for them!

It's funny how they seem to have introduced a lot of special Beatbox techniques I'va only heard in beatbox competition (adding to the normal crazy sounds Layne does all the time). I watched this song just when Voiceplay released it. Usually I'm not analyzing it and play the whole song at least once without interrupting. But that beatbox part came out of the blue, totally unexpected, so I I had to rewind and watch it again a few times before continuing. And it gave me an extra smile at that time about what might happen when you will react to the song. So I was waiting for your reaction today and you didn't disappoint at 6:10 , haha.

We know you love a bit of dissonance, so I would suggest you listen to Thinkin about You. But I would also absolutely love it if you were to do pretty much any of the ones you haven’t done.
