Fun fact: A burp is a real audio term. In car audio bass competitions, they "burp" the subs for only a few seconds, which allows for using more wattage without overloading the system.

Props to Rachel Potter who at the time of shooting this video was very pregnant. Thank goodness she was able to sit down for this whole thing. We get to really see the masks that Layne hid in the tree branches in, In The Hall Of The Mountain King. Makes me so happy when they do character voices. Layne almost fell off his stool.

Fellow ADHDer here. I am prone to these overloads a LOT. Something else that helps me is to put pressure on/around my head. Whether it's just me squeezing the sides of my head, or having my husband do it - the use of weight/pressure helps immensely. Also - so very cool that you left that in the video. You're right, though. We do mask it like crazy. In your shoes, I probably would have edited that out. I respect that you chose to leave it in (and the reason why). And FWIW, you're not alone. I had a sensory overload from this piece, too! I love it, but I have to listen to it with only one earbud in, because the stereo effects are so prevalent that I absolutely **will** overload on it otherwise. LOL This is such a fun piece. They did so well with it!

Voiceplay are so advanced compared to other acapella groups. Their musical arranging is so far beyond the other groups in the genre. I don't mean that to be dismissive of other big acapella groups. They are all doing a good job, are excellent singers and I am happy they are gaining success. But from the point of view of pushing the genre forward and really pushing the envelope as regards arrangement, vocal and visual skills, voiceplay are unmatched imo.

I'm also a follower of the "big 3" a capella groups. I favor Home Free simply because it's more my preference. But I think it's so awesome that all 3 groups are so different that even when they cover the same songs, they aren't in competition with each other. And we get totally different experiences from each one. ❤

They live in Orlando Florida. All have performed shows at Universal Studios, Disney World or both for many years. Also. They have no record label or anything telling them what to do and how to do it. Geoff and Layne do all the concepts, arranging, producing, directions, editing. Themselves. Only outside is makeup, cameras and mixing. Even the studio they fi!m in is owned by Layne and former member Tony Wakim. Pattycake Productions. Where Layne and Tony do their own video creations. As well as filming other artists.

One of my favorites from VP! And probably one of my favorite reactions ever, just for the "Neurodivergent education / break" part. I'd never heard of this grounding technique, so thank you very much for keeping it in. As a fellow ND, thank you!

Thanks for bringing attention to the sensory overload neurodiverse people experience. My family knows by now, but I think save for my husband, nobody really understands what it's about when I press my hands onto my ears and close my eyes to shut out the world. I often get the feeling that the world around me thinks I'm overplaying it / overreacting or simply making it up.

I have never commented on a video before, and I've been on the platform since it was new. I've seen (and thoroughly enjoyed) a small number of your videos before, but just now subscribed because of your decision to share, normalize, and try to help others with similar experiences. I am not among those who experience those kinds of sensations, but I support all efforts of demystifying and normalizing human experiences that are considered unusual just because they aren't well understood by those who don't experience them.

I love watching people react to this cover because it's 1.) Such a good song and one of Voiceplay's best pieces of work in my opinion, 2.) Everyone in the cover gets their perfect shining points to show off what they can do awesomely, and 3.) Voiceplay just tried so many new things in this cover that absolutely worked. Overall awesome and your reaction of it was just really fun to watch! Always love your vids, keep posting awesome content :)

On point reaction, VoicePlay completely breaking you sounds about right! Also Geoff was using Overtones over his notes, which can be achieved with moving your tongue around inside your mouth in certain positions and it manipulates the actual note to sound different than the original note. And of course then he lands a totally busted subharmonic F#1. This is by far the most entertaining video they have in their collections!
@CynicalTesuji
@CynicalTesuji Жыл бұрын
He discusses this (as well as reproducing it) in one of his videos; it's not overtones. It's just a very high subharmonic, with a little distortion thrown in.

XD (Also your imitating them makes me wanna check out your own singing stuff because, dang...) Also, mad respect for leaving the break in. That was cool of you. (I have a bit different experience, but still. People look at me weird when I have to plug my ears on the street when an ambulance goes by... but it's too loud and it actually hurts! D: So, yea. This is the first video I've seen of you, and I love your reactions. I have a recommendation for you! I highly, highly recommend watching Pattycake Productions Villains Lair series! You're going to eat up their "Oogie Boogie" episode, and the makeup is spectacular. Don't even get me started on how perfectly they pulled off Oogie's costume. Very rarely do I see reactions to The Villain's Lair series, which disappoints me, because it deserves so much more recognition. Every episode really highlights on how much perfectionists Pattycake Productions are, because everything is just spot on. They have a playlist for you to watch the episodes in order. It's about the Disney Villains (as well as villains not from Disney, I think. Including Disney princesses), and of course, there's a ton of singing. Everyone nails the voices of every villain and princesses too, which is also chefs kiss worthy. I don't wanna sound like I'm begging and that I'm overly excited, but I kind of am. Oh my god, please, react to The Villains Lair if you haven't yet! 🙏 It's all so, so worth it!

Hi I am Nurodivergent but the opersit direction I have no visual memory or Aphantasia. 7 Seconds then it's gone forever, I remember nothing visually. Verbilly also is effected remembering so vbasicly if I don't store stuff in a very set way I don't keep many memories. 10-15 from childhood, a few more of family. The one strange thing my medical team worked out is I can't become depressed every interesting but strange gift almost to compensate loosing so much. I am part of program helping to understand this and how it might help others who suffer this way recover as they unlock how it happened. Anyhow just thought you might find this interesting! Words are my world, I remember every story I have ever read. Every films script etc it's silly how much most people don't really store! I love your exercise to help you, well done for not hiding this and making it perfectly normal. I have been a long-time subscriber and just wanted to thank you for your fun and educational videos. Thank you for being open about the over stimulation, stimming and grounding exercise. As someone who has neurodivergence, it was good to see instances like this not only normalized but dealt with matter of factly. I personally use a grounding exercise where I focus on my breathing

Fellow nd person here. Thank you so much for leaving your overload moment in and talking about it! This really means a lot, there seems to be so little representation that actually comes from our community. Also amazing reaction and analysis! I always sit here smiling while listening to you, your excitement is contagious! :D

This was such a cool reaction! I love this song by them and it was cool see get it actually broken down. Also as a fellow neurospicy bean it was really nice to hear your tips for overstimulation and STILL see you enjoy it. I feel things like that aren't talked about much anywhere, so thank you!

Also, thanks for keeping the sensory overload in! ❤ I needed the grounding and didn’t even realize it.

I have Autism and I always have to be careful I don't get that Overload. Me and my mom call it Sensory Overload. I've had that issue ever since I was a little kid

Broken Mortius is entertaining Mortius but sorry it broke you just a little too much. I really needed this today. Thank you for being you and keeping the sensory overload part in. Finally getting caught up on your reaction/analyses after a three month break from all reactions.

The overtone singing dipping into his chest and subharmonics always gets me too. I love that this broke you as much as it did me.
