Can’t wait for upcoming AZ100 review. I bought all 4 you mentioned; I returned the AZ80. I know you love them, but I was disappointed with sound volume & weak lower frequencies. I bought the AZ100 and at this level of quality, I would say they tie the Pi8. They are both different but I love them both; they’re like children. I know it’s a cop out, but im too lazy to get picky to determine a winner. The Denon sound great, but the fit is a negative. The MW4 are just a solid all-around earbud in all categories. Cheers! 🍻

I really liked the denons but I also couldn't get them to fit right or be comfortable which is such a same because I got them for 150$. I got the az100's and they sound better but marginally for me. The fit on them is amazing.

I love my Denons they sound great and crank like no other but dammit that oval shape ear tip is the worst for me to try and get a good seal with my left ear. I am constantly twisting and moving it to try and get a full seal. So frustrating. I grab them last for this reason. Just got the Pi8 and wow not only do they sound fantastic, play loudly but they are the easiest and most comfortable buds I have ever used. I didn't even have to change the tip to a larger size like I usually do. They just pop in without any effort and boom perfect seal and sound. Just ordered a second pair. When I played them for my husband his immediate reaction was where's my pair?! He likes good sound but is not too picky. I asked him how they compare to his Airpod Pro2 and he looked at me like I was an idiot. He said there is no comparison. The Pi8 sound like a sound system vs Airpods like boom box. Glad my love for all things HiFi is rubbing off on him after 23 years. LOL. Pi8 for the win!

In terms of endgame tws earbuds, I've tried many. I currently own the Devialet Gemini 2, AZ100, B&O Beoplay EX, Nothing Ear, Jabra Elite 10, etc. I was on the fence about returning the AZ100 and trying out the Pi8s & Noble FoKus Rex5s. Perhaps you could eventually get around to comparing the top models for audio quality including these four: Devialet Gemini 2, B&W Pi8, Technics AZ100, Noble FoKus Rex5

Anytime u gonna do around the neck headphones. I love that style the most able to take off and let dangle and back on. Not some annoyign ass take off put in pocket sometimes misplace 1 bud, ect.

You really need to give the B@O EX a listen, they are right up there with the PerL Pro. I returned the BW PI 8, Technics 80 and 100. Everybody hears differently and also fit and comfort , but those are my top 2.

@pickyaudio - here's what happened - they released a firmware update. That changed the sound signature of Pi8. Everyone on reddit mentioned this. It's not the dream about them, it's the fact that they ended up being above the competition after that update.

Looks like the AZ100 sounds very similar to the AZ80. So not sure it would make sense to all of a sudden say the new ones are so much different, or better than a pair of earbuds that you considered much better sounding than the AZ80. Could you consider the JBL Tour Pro 3 Picky? These earbuds are a bit under the radar. Aside from the chunky case, there really isn’t a reason to not see these as among the best on the market. JBL’s website shows there’s a firmware update coming in two weeks. And for some reason, they’re on sale again right now.

@@pickyaudio Aye really appreciate your response! Just wanted to add that there’s measurement data from Earphones Archive via Squig. These are from the best available, a B&K 5128 rig. They have both the Tour Pro 3 and Devialet Gemini II. Don’t wanna get too nerdy with it but the FR graphs shows how extremely similar these two earbuds sound in their default tuning. Then the Tour Pro 3 offers all around flagship performance like ANC, etc. Yet they cost noticeably less than the Gemini II. You have the power to spread the word! Lol, just a shame they aren’t getting enough praise and other earbuds like those AZ100 are treated like the second coming of Jesus.

@@Triple-6the JBL tour pro 3 also have the best ANC I’ve ever heard in my life on a earbud. Not kidding, I was in a room with my family talking loud and with a loud surround sound system blaring and I could barely hear any of it. Crazy good. The sound was better than technics AZ80 too!

Pi8 are my most used buds after the Bose quiet Comfort Gen 2, haven't even been interested in any other buds. My only problem with the Pi8 are the god awful UI sounds and chimes when putting them in your ears or using touch controls.

You guys should use the case as the DAC for the Pi8, any codec below aptc lossless and the case just doesn't do justice for the sound quality for this pair of earbuds. FYI. a few days before i boght the pi8, i have a chance to listen to the sennheiser HE-1. and to what i remember... the pi8 have a somewhat similar tuning as the HE-1 at a fraction of the HE-1 price. i bought the pi8 at e-earphone japan, where they have all 3 of them as test unit. my rank is pi8, az80 then the pearl pro. i listen to mostly female voice songs. the az80 is a bit rough and the pearl pro is too laid back for my liking. the pi8 is 85-90% quality of the HE-1 which is a surprise to me that this kind of sound quality can be achieved by a TWS

Firstly, as an owner of both the Pi8's and the AZ80's, i could not agree with you more regarding the sound quality of the Pi8's and i have owned them all, Sennys, B&O, M&D's etc. Not a great all rounder, which is why I have the AZ80's as they are very good with everything, but not in the same league as the Pi8's for sound. Very anxious to hear your thoughts on the AZ100's as reviews so far are mixed. I always consider your reviews the most accurate than any others on YT as I love your format and I think our tastes are similar. Please stay Picky! 😁

Hey Picky ⛏️ I always appreciate your. IN DEPTH - reviews and the fact that you have larger ears help me to choose which buds to get. I don't see anything on your channel and not sure if you thought about doing a video about this but, I have a really hard time finding earbuds that fit my large and extra-large ears. I tried the den and pearl pro and I hate the app and the wing tips are too small so it falls out of my ears. Same thing with the soundcore liberty 4 pro, and the one more pro 3 I tried the soundcore sport and they don't fit in my ears either they just kind of hang there. I'm looking into the momentum 4 but I just tried a earfun free 3 and currently the earphone fit pretty good to my old soundcore Liberty 3 but sound much better with a lot of new features The best fit by far has been the soundcore Liberty 3 pro and all stem style buds no matter what freaking ear tip I use or how much I clean my ears always seem to wiggle out especially when talking or chewing. So regardless of how good the earbuds sound unless the fit is secure I might as well get a lower quality bud that fits my ears In my experience most of the bugs with wings are in the sports category and somehow the developers just don't put as much love into these designs and I find myself struggling with finding buds that strike a good balance between sound quality with heavy Bass with EDM, call quality and a secure fit with wings as well as tips Also - I do love the spin fits and the ear tips that come with many of the buds but - I think that oftentimes the ear tip gets overlooked as something secondary but there are really so many tips to choose from and it gets overwhelming Some people say just use foam ear tips but I guess I have waxy ears and they always become unusable no matter how much I clean my ears within a very short amount of time. I'm wondering if you have the possibility of adding my suggestions to your spreadsheet or maybe making a video that goes into hyper detail how about these topics😊 Anyway just gluten-free food for thought

Picky....Please help with this question. I have had the pi8 since launch and nobody addresses this issue. But the pi8's have a battery drainage issue. If you don't use them for 2 days or so, the battery life will drain from the earphones and the case never refills them. Are you experiencing this? BTW...takes balls to come back and admit that you were wrong initially. Much respect

the case is not charging properlly with wireless charging, after all even with their usb c cable the case needs every 2 days charging, so definetely something going on with the battery case in these

This is well-known issue. Mine did this. My earbuds drained super fast as well. Also, my left bud died after 2 hours of use. Like really died. Before that, it had constant connectivity issues. Tbh, the sound is the best I’ve ever heard but this feels like half-thought-out earbud. Terrible connectivity, battery life, etc. Not worth the insane asking price.

I'm in process of testing AZ-100 and while it is sounding great, the guitar sound in metal is strange for me a little, a litte behind everything as well as the harsh vocals. Will try those tonight.

👍LOVE mine. BUT recently got the Noble Rex5. Yet another jump up to realistic timbre for me. Might return them though cause the Noble app is utterly broken. Most of the time it just doesn't even recognize the buds even though the phone/DAP pairs with them right away.

I love these for listening to music, but find them unusable for phone calls. People on the other end of my calls say I sound like I'm under water. I listened to a voicemail I left recently using the PI8 and it's unintelligible. Anyone else having this issue with an iPhone? I have an iPhone 15 Pro.

If sound quality is your focus the airpods absolutely CANNOT compare to any of the OnePlus earbud lineup. I have the pro 3 and 3 and they are leagues above soundstage and quality wise. Even with aac I would recommend them over airpods any day of the year. I'm also a bit of a collector, I own the perl pros, m100, OnePlus pro 3 and 3 and about 30 other high end to low end pairs. The OnePlus buds pro 3 rank second on my list for sound quality. The anc probably won't beat airpods but everything else is substantially better.

I have tried aall you're top 5 and so far for me as i listen to tencho and Trance. The az80s are the best for that type of sound. My problem is my ears produce a lot of oil and makes things fallow out so easily. I haven't found an in ear bud with the sound quality of the az80s that will stay in my ears. I have had to go to open earbuds now for this reason. The only other ones i would say sound amazing are the soundcore liberty 4 pro but again there gloss finish theres nothing mat to keep them in my ears. Hope you do more reviews on open earbuds. I know there are so many. My ears are such weird shaped the 1more s50 are the only ones that wi sit right that i have tested and give me enough sound. The rest even the clip ons never go on my ear right and dont send enough sound to sound good.

I listen mostly to eighties rock and some metal, and nothing beats my Liberty 3 Pro. However, the Sennheiser Momentum 3/4 are right there ranking a close second. They each have a nice powerful delivery with sharp treble and booming bass, which compliments this era of music nicely. On the flipside, the Technics AZ-100 sounds very flat and uninspiring across the board to me making them a bad choice for this era of music. My question is, which one does the B&W PI8 sound more like the L3P or the Technics? I'm trying to get a feel if I should drop the four bills or not. Thanks. 👍

Going off memory the Pi8 do sound more like the L3P slightly less V shaped though. It's hard to say if it's worth it or not unless you can try them out somehow before buying but that's always tricky!

Sorry but after a certain level of sound 🔊 quality and especially when the earbuds have a built-in equalizer and a very good hardware that responds very well to equalizations, the best earbuds for sound 🔊 don't exist, it's just a matter of personal taste, and especially a placebo effect due to the hype, the name of the brand behind the product, the group effect... For example, 20 different people will be able to tell you with supporting evidence that the, Jlab Epiq Lab, Bose QC Ultra, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, Huawei Freebuds Pro 4, Sony XM5, Denon Perl Pro, Airpod Pro 2, Technics AZ80/AZ100, B&O Eleven .... Are the best earbuds for sound 🤷🏽‍♂️ The only thing in which these Pi8s excel at a little bit is sound 🔊, tws, it's not only sound, especially at $400, and someone who is really a so-called "audiophile" doesn't put $400 in tws that will never sound better than wired ones at $150, unless you do it out of snobbery 🤧 🚶🏽‍♂️ 🚶🏽‍♂️ 🚶🏽‍♂️
