Walking is the best way to explore since the details are even more amazing. It is safe anywhere any time but add in the in the Metro(spectacular subway system that is the fastest and more comfortable way to get to different areas) Any of the Russian cultural destination cities are clean safe and highly cultured. I moved from the US 24 years ago to St Petersburg which is beautiful and slower paced with outstanding access to the arts and culture, 600 parks many ornate palaces canals, rivers, also safe and even more relaxed and friendly. Moscow is the friendliest and most livable large city in the world and easier to afford than cities like NYC much safer and cleaner

In Russia, public utilities work properly, including cleaning up trash. Of course, you can come across a Pig-Man here who litters, but I hope there are few of them in Russia and they are mostly well-mannered people. Of course, for educated people it will unacceptably litter even at major holidays or other events, when many people gather.🤔

No matter you like it or not, Moscow is among the cleanest and the greenist city in Europe. Its the 2nd largest metropole in continental Europe after Istanbul in Turkiye. I've been there before the war.
