As an auto mechanic all the comments regarding the paint job being an uneven trade is kind of wild. It wasn't like the guy just rattle canned it, he clearly did some very extensive disassembly, rust repair, fiberglass repair, welding, bondo, cleaning, grinding and prepping to get that truck to the point it could be effectively painted. That's if i had to guess ~100 hours worth of work. That truck looks brand new, he did an amazing job, and all the prep work required for it to look that damn good shouldn't be discounted. You guys both worked your asses off and both got some damn good outcomes, thats the type of trade everyone wants.

Maybe the paint on Louis could be cut and buffed to bring back the shine. Also I'd suggest red stripes on the F750 that would compliment Louis with the silver/gray stripes..?

I had an F350 I ordered, ended up selling it when diesel went bananas and used trucks were worth what they cost new. Iconic silver was my color. It was a great color. Set it apart from a lot of fleet colors, and it stayed looking fairly clean.

People often overlook the benefits of straw. Moisture retention and the added nitrogen from the natural breakdown. It's essentially a low-value slow-release feritilizer.

Add a flat-black vinyl strip below the belt-line on the doors and along the bottom of the sides of the bed. That will make it pop!

You are going to like the silver in the end. So much easier to keep looking good. With the gravel roads and high dust environment you live and work in, it shows up less than black or white. Also summer time heat on a black interior is deadly, while a white interior is always dirty. Silver and dark grey not black is a thought for interior. Looking newish and one heck of an improvement. The lawn is doing great for a drought. Just hope the over seeding is still there when the rain comes. I use to like to get an over seed done right before an inch of snow because that melts slow and does not erode as much. Time will tell, but the over seed was the right thing if it had rained like expected. We work with what mother nature gives us.

The truck looks great Neil, I’m excited for the bronco project! Pro tip from someone who has the same shelves: I find them infinitely more useable if you cut down some 1/8” hardboard or plywood to sit in between the black runners and on top of the wire racking. It allows you to slide things around on the shelves with ease and also makes them useable for smaller paraphernalia that would normally fall through the holes in the wire. Keep up the great content!

He did a really nice job on that truck. There aren’t any 99.995 Earl Shieb or Mayco paint jobs any more. And he did A Lot of metal work on that. And painting the frame and polishing the boxes? Nice! I hope when all your stuff is shined up you’ll have a nice covered spot to park them out of the weather and mice.
