I with you here. Those bright colors in some of the pictures were really beautiful.

I didn’t believe you last time. Grey has so many different hues. It can be greenish yellow brown. It’s amazing! I’m not a grater. But I don’t really have it in my home much as grey. I do have it in its hidden hues! Nantucket grey bm is green. Collingwood bm is grey taupe. Both grey colors but with different hues. 😊 Very relaxing! And I really loved bm revere pewter or silver fox. But I don’t have them anymore. grey is here to stay!

I love gray! It’s a beautiful backdrop for art, furniture, decor…. Love Sherwin Williams Dorian Gray, Mindful Gray, Dovetail, Mink… Think of it as neutral canvas that’s not white. I decided to be brave and am ab to paint my entire house Functional Gray with Poised Taupe and look forward to loving it. Functional Gray is a perfect greige with enough clay or cool and warm feel that doesn’t lean beige. Would love a color review on it!

Grey looks good with pale warm colors, nice contrast.

I used a muted brownish-greenish gray to flank the two walls bordering a large off-white corner fireplace and that actually looks quite good. It's a large room painted mostly in off-white and it lends some extra interest without being in any way too obvious or different from the other walls, if that makes sense. It's also broken up by a large window with off-white and bluish-gray patterned curtains which makes the gray look very subtle and harmonious.

I have Gratifying Gray on my half walls with Swiss coffee at 75% strength and it’s soothing to me. I also have Wolf Gray cabinets which is blue-gray and my floors are wide-plank French oak which has a natural look. I also really really like Classic Gray ❤️

My childhood house was filled with warm colors and was the absolute worst. So don't hate grey too much. There's lots of cool beautiful ways to use this color and all its variations.

Years ago, before the grey craze, I said (regarding my home’s palette): I want a home filled with colors from nature: - sky blues, - white clouds, - spring grass, - fresh straw, - newly cut wood, - ocean/running water, - storm sky, and - fog - The last two colors on my list are grey -ish, and I believe to be beautiful colors, indeed, but they are colors imagined with OTHER accenting colors drawing out their beauty - heightening it - mimicking nature’s beauty. - My problem with today’s interior design grey is its overuse, layer upon layer - that possesses NO imagination (yes, my opinion). Just purely a "statement" of what????? - A few months back, I started thinking of buying my own home, but lost hope and decided to wait a few more years and then, perhaps, build my own home. - What is on the market these days are homes (in my opinion) that look like prison facilities or morgues that giving off a feeling of being tripped/lost in a dismal abyss -- all that white, black, and gray. I could not afford to buy a house and then have to shell out more money to dig out and throw away all that BLAH. - That said, I do agree with you: yes, grey can be “okay.” When used in an unaffected way -- in a way that is reminiscent of that stormy day where the sky is a beautiful blend with the promise of blue sky to come (that's with sunshine, light, and warmth). - Just my personal opinion and style.

Grays with the right under or overtones and paired with colors with similar over/undertones can look really nice. Can also still feel colorful without being overpowering.

I’m personally sick of gray, not the color- my mother of the bride dress was gunmetal gray last month and the tablecloths were a light-medium gray which looked fabulous with the colorful flowers in vases. It’s gray walls, gray floors, gray tiles all at once that makes me ill. Someone will take a really cool house and do that- totally not in keeping with the style of the house. There is such a thing as too much! In the meantime, I’m going to be painting my kitchen walls BM Edgecomb Gray in a couple of weeks. 😏❤

I never liked the ALL GRAY look. But I really hate cement gray. Having stated that, I really like Pearl gray and a light gray with accents of green do look modern as well as beautiful. I didn’t like the bedroom with the gray bed spread and gray pillows. That would look better in a vibrant accent color for the linens. The modern living room with the fire place and gray floor look awful to me as the floor was gray cement color. Also the all beige look is too bland.

I like how we can all have different opinions on these various colors & all enjoy their merits & minimize their flaws. The OP LOVES green which I absolutely LOATHE, but this is still one of the best paint color channels out there & I still watch & enjoy most of his green videos anyway. =)

The designers are steering away from the all gray look, but can’t divorce themselves from gray because it’s a fantastic neutral that works well in many settings.
