As a single mom myself, my life lesson: Always be self sufficient - NEVER depend on another person for your well being 😊

I saw this message recently: Life is not going to go as you had planned, tides change and things go in different directions. You can't stop the waves from happening, but you can learn to move with them. They may not take you in the direction you had planned, but they will take you exactly where you are meant to be.

I’m 57 & have a lot of your character traits. Your generation is so fortunate to have social media & the internet at your disposal. I found a book by Don Miguel Ruiz titled THE FOUR AGREEMENTS. IT helped me to let go of pressures to fit in. To be okay with what makes me comfortable/ happy. It’s exhausting as an i’m introvert and thinker to measure up to society l’s expectations. I do me “me” now with no regrets. I sustain me and my daughters as a single mom (both in college) living comfortably. As long as you’re independent & not a menace to society… “DO YOU “

You just made me smile so big with your story about the substitute teacher. In high school, I remember looking up from an assignment I was working on on French class to find my French teacher observing me, and then she said the first words I heard her speak in English: "Still waters run deep." That was it, but I knew it was a compliment, and I never could figure what prompted her to see in me what others did not.

Thank you ! I too have social anxiety middle school and throughout high school I ate lunch in the bathroom. I didn't know what introverted was back then. I have come to accept who I am and I love it! I also don't keep up with the social media lifestyle like most and I'm ok with that. I do have a hard time with fear of losing someone close, but I am trying to train my mind that it is a part of life. That may be the hardest thing to deal with in life is losing someone. Thank you for this message ❤

I have definitely learned that I should stress less because things usually work out how they are supposed to.

The main lesson I’ve learned thus far is that life is just many periods of transitions. It’s like being on a major interstate/highway and I get off on exits. Some exits I simply only need to ride along the access road that runs along the interstate to get to what I need. Other exits require I go deeper into the area beyond the exit sign that I can’t see from the highway. Then, Life takes me back to the interstate which I accept represents my main journey throughout my earthly existence. The exits are detour to lessons I need for my growth and expansion. I anticipate, welcome and accept ALL the lessons be them good or challenging.

Amen to all of this we are so similar, i havs learnt not to depend on others for validation and feelings of worthiness, for noone else has walked in our shoes and therefore we shouldn't rely on their judgements.
