as someone who sometimes uses cheats on single player games: it's fine to use cheats if no other player is in the game, but if the cheats would be used against a actual player that's when i have a problem with it, as my dad once told me: if you want to ruin the game for yourself, go ahead, but don't ruin it for other people

I 100% agree, there are 0 problems with someone using cheats or mods when its singleplayer or a server alone but once its with others its not ok (the only exception to this is when EVERYONE in the server/game you are playing with is ok with it which would be like in a private server with friends for example)

Cheats don't help if your reflexes and general awareness are dogwater. Plain and simple. The amount of times I've ended up hosing headtrack aimbotters and ESP users just because they are so brainrotted they cannot function is horribly depressing. I also had one hilarious situation I still remember very clearly, way back in the day, in red orchestra 2, where a cheater who was using aimbot got himself banned after he complained to server admins about me 'walling and invis' because I was using the audio cues to shoot up from a basement through the 2 floors of a soviet apartment block above me as enemies stomped around the capture point they held and were spawning at (this was a WW2 game where rifle calibers were often a one-shot if hit landed in torsos or multiple hitzones. I was using a bolt-action). Apparently admin spectated me for a minute, saw what I was doing, then spectated the complainer to see what it looked like from his end. Proceeded to see the complainer aimsnapping to literal pixels all the way across the map and only missing because the aimbot doesn't account for bullet drop. Admin proceeded to comment openly (via server 'message of the day' function) that basement squatting with a bolt-action was hilarious (in the process literally telling the opposing team where I was and what I was doing) and then stating that when you report cheating, maybe make sure yours are off first, before banning the cheater. The admin messaged me on steam to share what he'd seen and congratulate me on 'era-accurate gremlin tactics'.
